Have made an executive decision to chuck my Kiko Liquid Skin foundation - half full but just does not apply nicely and LIFE IS TOO SHORT!!!
Will add something else to 25 for Christmas list!!!

OP posts:
kwick · 27/10/2017 07:18

I have two empties from my 25 by Christmas list!!!

  • Femfresh feminie freshness deoderant: I LOVE the smell if this but have not used in fanjo area since TTC as God knows if this is harmful - have finished up as an underarm deoderant... which is probably just as bad if dangerous but anyhoo!
  • Nip & Fab glycolic fix serum 15ml: really do not like the smell, have no idea what this did

Grin at kwick and your Femfresh! I've nearly finished my wash gel for "down there" and was debating whether that would count as an empty but you've answered my question!

I have another one:

  1. L'Occitane foot cream 10ml.

I'm debating whether I can bin my Orgasm blusher as it's about 7 years old and I've hit pan and there's only a big left on either side. I really struggle to decide when stuff's ready for the bin. There's a fair bit left but I can't really load my blusher brush evenly! Oh such important questions! Shock

suchatiredbunny · 27/10/2017 13:32

Chloe I say chuck it when it crumbles.

Another empty, a Morrison’s hairspray which is fab and about 80p! I have another in the drawer but have taken a Charles Worthington out to use first.
Also empty is a Sains sensitive shaving gel which is a staple for me and a good find as it’s a cruelty free alternative to the Gillette I used for years on end. I have to be careful what I use as I have trouble shaving, for a long time I thought it was the product but realised it’s more likely the metal in the razor (I developed an allergy to my gold wedding ring a few years ago). So that’s five on my use up 25 for Xmas list.

Thanks for the advice to try Pixi Glow, that seems to have sorted the flaky skin. I’m using fresh farmacy and Celestial moisturiser from Lush and my skin is pretty much back to normal, no flaking or breaking out.

chlo I feel like this thread does provide insight on ground breaking topics Grin
If it would make you more comfortable please share a photo of your orgasm 😂 before binning!

bunny I am hopefully done shaving after buying the Melody-Claire system.

Hi Kwick I have some questions about the Melody Claire! I looked it up and saw some reviews that said their hair grew back the same as if they were shaving, quite quickly and was wondring whether you found this? Have been thinking about trying it but only if it works better than shaving so I'd have to do it less. So great to have you try it out first and a review I can trust!

suchatiredbunny · 27/10/2017 17:10

How painful is it Kwick ?

chloechloe · 27/10/2017 17:50

Glad the Pixi Glow Tonic worked for you bunny!

GrinGrinGrin at kwick's suggestion for an orgasm photo!

kwick · 27/10/2017 19:20

So Melody-Claire trial is currently in progress. I did my legs and facial area on Monday - very quick and painless. Skin very smooth afterwards. But I feel like you need to give me a bit more time - so more reports to follow.

Lol at the orgasm photo Grin

Tipping away at my Christmas list...
62. LRP cicaplast mains handcream. My absolute holy grail handcream, the only one that has stopped my hands cracking and bleeding in winter
(Have another in the stash)

chloechloe · 28/10/2017 07:38

Up to 13 already - Liding Volume Magic Spray 200ml.

curragh The LRP handcream is amazing isn't it? I have the same problem with my hands in winter.

IPokeBadgers · 29/10/2017 18:57

Chucked a Max Factor eye brightening mascara that had dried out. This was a repurchase and I did use it a lot, but not sure if it is still produced....have so many mascaras in the stash and on the go I probably wouldn't repurchase. Also trying to persuade myself to bin a maybelline sensational Lash that has been open for many months and is nearly empty..i do like it but it is probably harboring all sorts of bacteria by now.

kwick · 30/10/2017 07:29

I have an empty - penultimate item on my 13 by Halloween list 😬 AND it is a lip liner... I think this is a first!!!

  • Chanel Velvet Allure 48 lip liner: great base for lipstick and has a handy lip brush at one end. Have many lip liners in stash so no repurchase.
OP posts:
IPokeBadgers · 31/10/2017 20:07

Another empty: Boots Botanics skin calming day cream spf 15. Have had this for a long time....the range has been rejigged and rebranded and it appears this product has disappeared so couldn't repurchase if I wanted to....shame, because I would buy again in the future.

OutToGetYou · 31/10/2017 20:32

I have three empties to report, though two I am not happy about.

  1. my Moo-Goo shampoo, which I love, but am committed not to buy any more shampoo until I am down to my last bottle, and that will be around another 12m I think!

  2. the Dove hair mask, this was supposed to be one application but it took two to use up as I have a short bob, used the last bit today. (one of the Xmas 25, so I think that is two down)

  3. My M&S night time serum, I've really liked this, but, again, no new serums (sera?) until I am down to my last one and I have at least three more, which I don't like as much!

Bonus disposal of an old toiletries bag I no longer like.

Nearly got two more - the FAB cleansing pads and NAF frown line serum, that's more or less gone I think.

Not much luck with body lotions, they take an age to use up!

BigStripeyBastard · 01/11/2017 17:37

Wow, good going Frugal.
I finished up all but two items on my 13 For Halloween Part Deux. I have a full size Clarins Exfoliating toner and a Colgate super whitening toothpaste left to go but both are pretty much down to the last couple of days worth so will be the first ones down in my new plan, catchily titled Use As Much Stuff As I Can Before I Break Out The Look Fantastic Calendar On December The First. I shan't make a list, just focus on clearing as much part used and half empties as I can!
Plus I plan to make an extra special effort to use body moisturiser more regularly as I have many of them just sat there mocking me. I always promise myself I will but then usually decide I would far rather have that extra five minutes in bed......

kwick · 01/11/2017 17:55

Wowzers frugal!!! Well done!

I still have the dregs of a lipstick left on my list. It is bright red and I just have not felt in the mood.

OP posts:
PerilouslyFannedCoaster · 01/11/2017 19:14

A few empties!

Elemis botanical shower gel
Elemis botanical body lotion
Sanex deodrant
Colgate toothpaste
L'occitane soap
L'occitane hand cream

I also throughout about 3 hair dyes.

It's feeling good!

Baileystruffle · 01/11/2017 21:54

I have totally failed at 13 for Halloween and still have 4 items left. I have had an awful lot of illness and stress in the family recently and just had other things on my mind. Using up body lotion and face masks just didn't seem that important in the last week. Going to keep going though- and I did finish up a cetaphiI cleanser sample today at least (although not on the list). I am going to do 12 for Christmas as I'll never get through 25, and will put the 4 remaining products on my new list.

  1. Palmers cocoa butter 250ml
  2. 21st century herbs skin balm small
  3. Avent foot reviver 50ml
  4. Sanctuary face mask tube 100ml
  5. Pantene conditioner
  6. Benecos hand cream 75ml
  7. Soap and glory 'pulp friction' body scrub
  8. L'occitane cleansing oil 30ml
  9. Superfacialist vitamin C serum 30ml
10. Nip and fab glycolic pads x5 11. Nivea anti-age face sunscreen 50ml 12. Strawberry body shop soap
kwick · 02/11/2017 08:25

bailey sounds like you have been having a difficult time Flowers

Despite, my now day 2 headache, I am pleased as today AF arrives signalling the restart of TTC with IVF and there was another lovely item in my advent today Grin

OP posts:
curragh · 02/11/2017 12:35

Flowers bailey, sorry to hear it's been a hard time. Hopefully things will start to improve soon

Kwick, best of luck with the IVF cycle, hope all goes smoothly

I caved and bought a NARS concealer last weekend. £24 but seems to do a good job of covering my dark circles

I also tried a Chanel foundation but didn't purchase 😇. Im not even halfway through my current Bobbi brown one which is ok but not great tbh

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 02/11/2017 14:00

Well done folks and Flowers to bailey. Fingers crossed to kwick.
I've binned a really cheapo Superdrug b palette as finished eyebrow wax and highlighter and the remaining eye shadows were pants. Counts right? So only 1 thing left on Halloween list; Charlotte tilbury eyeliner. Lasted nearly 2 years and love it. Would repurchase when finally finishes! No idea how it's lasted so long.
Xmas list complied! And November should be no-spend month (I hope!)
