mintmagnummm · 25/12/2017 06:26

Merry Christmas 🎄 xx

FrustratedFrugal · 25/12/2017 07:11

Hey threadmates, Happy Christmas to you! 🎄💖✨

Decluttering with y’all is fun. I hope you will find some lovely presents under the tree. Please come and share!

No cosmetics for me, we are more and more into experiences these days - going to Italy on NYE, but the house is fragrant with Frederic Malle’s Cafe Society and I am going to envelop myself in Chanel Coromandel later on. And my final DIY advent calendar treat is a sachet of Orchidee Imperiale cream from Guerlain - something special for my turkey neck Wink

ememem84 · 25/12/2017 08:57

Merry Christmas y’all

Ds bought his Mummy some molton brown bubbles.

Dh has wowed me with a bottle of gin and a new handbag. It is emerald green beautiful soft leather and is hand down the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen.

comeagainforbigfudge · 25/12/2017 09:50

Merry Christmas! I got some handcream in amongst my gifts. I also got some for my birthday recently. Got soooo much now 🙈

Have a good day folks Xmas Smile

DragonNoodleCake · 25/12/2017 18:56

Merry Christmas- Santa brought me a large bottle of Jo Malone Oud & Bergamot! I smell amazing.

Em your bag sounds fantastic- pictures please.

ememem84 · 25/12/2017 20:44

dragon it’s a mulberry lily. Like the picture. ignore the price ignore the price ignore the price

I have also been given some white company hand wash and lotion and some clarins moisturiser. So I am set.

Just have to avoid the boots sale. Soap and glory gift boxes anyone....?

DragonNoodleCake · 25/12/2017 20:53

OMG that is too beautiful....I ignored the price promise Grin

I'd have another baby to get DH to buy me one (that's a lie! - becoming a grandmother at 39 was enough!)

ememem84 · 25/12/2017 21:48

39?! Wow. That’s young.

I don’t even want to think about the relationship any new baby of yours would have with your grandchild(ren) - uncle/aunt but younger than niece/nephew?

It is truely amazing. Dh outdid himself. I had absolutely no idea it was even on the cards. I also have this one in oxblood. But it’s a few years old now so the leather has softened and has that “used but looked after” look.

Dh chose this one because I have the same style already so it’s a safe bet. A classic style but such a beautiful colour.

I’m almost sad I’m still on maternity leave. Can not wait to take it to work. But then by the time I go back it’ll be “oh this old thing...!” Haha! I am super lucky and very spoiled. And unbelievable grateful.
and a tad pissed on bubbly

FrustratedFrugal · 26/12/2017 09:21

Em what a beautiful bag and a lovely husband. You are very lucky ⭐️

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 26/12/2017 10:26

Merry Christmas. Hope you had a wonderful time. Gorgeous bag Em.
Thanks for the fab company over 2017 and helping me limit my spending!
I was working xmas eve night which made me a grumpy xmas elf! Managed to improve with some champagne and snuggly children though! Also eye op was a success so I can wear eye make up again. Hoorah! Yay to xmas presents to myself. Huda eye palette and better than sex mascara! Argh to massive Ballis and Harding gift set but about to be repackaged! Ho ho ho!

kwick · 27/12/2017 07:54

Vair jealous of presents EnvyXmas Grin

Hope everyone doing well!

I have an empty:

  • M&S Formula Absolute Ultimate Sleep Cream (full size): my cousin got me this for my birthday. So nice on, I notice if I do not use it. Will go back to but I need to use up some others first. Having a nice night cream though definitely encourages me to use it on a regular basis.

Another one here -
L'Oréal Revitalift Laser Renew night.

I took very bad reaction on my face to this so used it on my body, nice smooth bum lol

trigger2 · 27/12/2017 11:25

Oops forgot a small sized BS Hemp Foot Protector cream also done.

DragonNoodleCake · 27/12/2017 14:48

I got 4 free mascaras yesterday!!! Lancôme gift set with a full size and 3 mini mascaras down to £16 in boots.....I had shed loads of points, so that's me sorted for 2018 for mascara.

chloechloe · 27/12/2017 15:06

This thread has fallen off my "I'm on" list as I'm currently at the PiLs and not finishing anything!

That's a beautiful bag em! Good thinking on your DH's part! How do you find it size wise? I'm a big bag person as I cart round far too much! I'm currently debating the oxblood medium Lily in croc print in the sale but can't really justify it as I have a black croc Cecily which is similar and rarely gets used with 2 under 3! The black Camden is also calling to me.

Treeballarae · 27/12/2017 15:13

Merry Christmas fellow de-stashers! I hope you've all had a good time.

Some empties from my 30 for Hogmanay list - only 3 more to go - I would be doing much better using things up if I didn't keep falling asleep on sofa coz then I can't be bothered to do my evening routine.

  1. Elemis Papaya Enzyme peel - love this - have two more in stash
  2. Footner - OMG - I loved this! Best fun I've ever had peeling skin off my feet (although I know you're not meant to) - will repurchase
  3. SBC Leg Cooling gel - not very long lasting cooling action - used up on sore muscles, prefer their arnica gel
  4. Nude Perfecting Cleansing oil - expensive for what it is
  5. Mitchum roll on unscented - made my armpits itch - I'm getting on fine with the stick version so far though
  6. NYR Rosemary and Elderflower shower gel mini - nice but didn't lather enough
  7. Korres Basil and Lemon Body Milk mini - nice fresh smell, might repurchase nearer summer if I use up enough body lotion in meantime
  8. Elemis Quiet Mind temple balm - think I had this for at least 6 years, glad to see back of it. Came with a bath soak that was excellent but they've long since discontinued.
  9. Elemis Chamomile cleanser mini - too thin and watery, didn't like the smell, bit stingy on skin
  10. Miaroma sweet almond oil - use this a lot to massage so go through it quite quickly, another bottle ready to go
  11. NYR Rose and Geranium shower gel mini - I hate rose and I hate geranium - so was very surprised that I love this! Will buy a full size when I run out of shower gel.
  12. Weleda perfume mini - didn't like the smell
  13. Clarins hand and nail treatment cream sample - the smell of this reminds me of someone I didn't like/was scared off which puts me off it - cannot figure out who, maybe one of my school teachers - I just feel a sense of dread when I smell it. My mum bought me a bigger size for my Christmas annoyingly Grin.
  14. Eucerin 10% Urea foot cream - staple for me - but when I went to repurchase they've changed the formula - so will have to see if the new one is still as good
  15. Sukin handwash - loved this - not drying at all - as I over-wash my hands.
  16. Lierac dioptigel eye gel - a spur of the moment TK Maxx purchase - didn't think it did much.
Treeballarae · 27/12/2017 15:23

Also meant to say that this thread has helped me curb my spending in 2017 - I've spent 10% less this year on toiletries than last year - so thank you one and all!

I think I'll go for a 20% decrease in 2018 (baby steps). I'm also considering a lo-spend 2018 where I shop my stash first but also allow £10 or £20 a month for frivolous spending which will hopefully help. Will work out my 14 for Valentine's List once we get to the 31st.

ememem84 · 27/12/2017 15:41

@chloechloe size wise it holds everything I need. I’ve been using my extra late slouchy bag from oasis as a part handbag part baby bag. But no more. My bag is mine. Ds’ stuff goes in the nappy bag.

It fits: moleskine notebook, pen, mulberry French purse, glasses (2x reading and sun) keys phone gum and perfume atomiser.

While I’m off work I’ve been popping my “toiletries” bag (with paracetamol, tampons, spare pants, etc) in ds’ nappy bag. Once I go back to work this will live in my desk again.

No empties here. But dh did spend £30 in boots and used my card. Yippee.

Strawberryfield12 · 27/12/2017 15:54

Merry Christmas everyone!

Seem to have fallen off the thread last few days. DH got me Jo Loves Mandarin body wash and Pomelo perfume paint from beauty products. The main present has been iphone X, which I am very chuffed about. Have had my current iphone for about 3 years and would struggle to justify spending so much money on a phone. Well, I was given a tacky case for my current phone to unwrap before being given a new phone. DH very often plays out things like that with Christmas presents, I know him more than 10 years, but still fall for his jokes...

Have used two more items from my Christmas list, the last item on it will pass onto 14 list.

Strawberryfield12 · 27/12/2017 15:55

Lovely bag emem!

woodhill · 27/12/2017 16:08

Have used a strawberry body shop shower gel plus a Nuxe skin oil.

I need to tidy out cupboard as I cannot find things that I'm sure I still see to use up.

I did bu y a mavala eye lash treatment at JL today and am hoping to get the Clarins double serum gift set which is my gift from dh that I ordered online.

I received some lovely toiletries for Christmas to add to my stash but I will use them throughout the year,

kwick · 27/12/2017 17:01

Lovely presents and great progress!

Um... this thread has not at all helped me to spend less but I definitely am getting much more joy from using make-up and beauty products. More joy is a good thing! ❤️

I got a £70 John Lewis voucher a few months ago when I hit 15 years at work - and did not like anything in the catalogue so I am going tomorrow and going to try and get some earrings, I have about £90 left on another voucher - any money left over is going to be spent on more naughtiness!!!!!

I have an empty:

  • Lactovit in shower moisturiser: really yucky, so disappointing. The Nivea one remains my Holy Grail.
