Lovely Sephora package.

kwick · 05/12/2017 07:48

Thank you @AnotherPinkiePieStory that was a nice diversion

I am so tired today - slept fitfully. I just want it to be the holidays already.

@curragh have you tried coconut oil - nothing added, just that? I found this was most satisfactory and am on the look out for a smallish tub of the organic kind as I am missing a balm from my repertoire.

kwick how a put this - coconut cream - its lovely!

www.cultbeauty.co.uk/rms-beauty-raw-coconut-cream.html

I do wonder whether I could use the big (cheaper!) pot I have for cooking, but the blurb on the Cult Beauty site would have you believe that this is extra special!

Moogletea · 05/12/2017 12:41

@curragh I love the body shop camomile cleansing balm. I've tried Clinique and EH and this is as good as if not better.

chloechloe · 05/12/2017 13:27

I've just had a sort through of my stash given there are new arrivals being added to it from my advent calendars. It's absolutely ridiculously big. I've separated it into makeup, skincare, body and hair, this is just the skincare stuff. Admittedly it's all sample sizes - I'm such a sucker for goody bags, thinking I'm getting a bargain. I really need to buy nothing next year. Will really try my best to stick to a no beauty spend for the first quarter.

Signing in. I've not been using up many products recently. I think it is because I've largely used up the samples and trial sizes and am working my way through full size products. I am making head way though

RJnomore1 · 05/12/2017 21:22

Ok so a look fantastic box may have arrived today 😳

I have finished 2, a clarins eau dynamissante perfume, I know have a mini set of yardley flowers perfumes to last until u get my new chanel for Xmas !! And an essential cleansing water from bionike

It was ok but it came out like phlegm although felt like water in use. I wouldn't rebuy. I've never actually heard of it it cane in a box.

I'm at 29.

kwick · 06/12/2017 08:34

@chloechloe gosh that does look very superior!

@RJnomore1 I really enjoyed that one - have fun!

2 more today.

A fullsize Avon keratin hair mask. Really like Avon hair products but too embarrassed to tell my very trendy hairdresser 😂 Would buy and use again although it's not my favourite of their masks

And a sample size palmers body oil. Didn't like, too thick an oil for me but smelt very nice.

  1. And nothing in today's post!
kwick · 06/12/2017 20:51

Funny you say that @RJnomore1 - I am currently using Avon for hair and am really liking it - at least not making my oily roots worse!

OP posts:
RJnomore1 · 06/12/2017 20:55

Yes that's one of my problems that it seems to help with!

CantChoose · 06/12/2017 23:05

Gah my post disappeared :(

I've been on a bit of a roll - I finished three products yesterday! A scanctuary body moisturising mist (not overkeen on the smell and feeling oily, wouldn't repurchase), a REN evercalm mask (seemed like an ok product but not really for my skin type) and a Lancôme hypnose miniature (I have loads of these, used to wear this when I was in sixth form. Makes me feel young again Grin)
None of them were on my 25 list, obviously.
I had a bath tonight with the bath oil on my list but I'll have to have at least one a week to use it up by Christmas. Sounds like a good excuse to me!

chloechloe · 07/12/2017 05:24

Admittedly I've been a bit naughty as I never wrote a list, I just use stuff up and then write it down.

So 31. Elemis Exotic Cream Moisturising Mask. I won't be repurchasing, not sure it really did anything and I have a zillion other masks to finish.

FrustratedFrugal · 07/12/2017 06:54

Well done CantChoose.

NeonSun full sizes take ages - but you are doing some good work and every little bit helps!

I survived my midweek work trip and am organizing a party tonight. Knackered, but skin glowing because I used a Garnier scrub and a Tomato X massage pack from the DIY advent calendar last night.

I also bought a few treats passing through the airport yesterday - the Dior classic Creme Abricot for nails (super good for winter induced dryness), a tube of The Body Shop Moringa hand cream and a mini travel size nailpolish remover for future trips. Might sound a bit tragic, but having a glass of champagne and giving some TLC to my hands on the plane was the highlight of my week.

Baileystruffle · 07/12/2017 18:45

I've finished a small elemis shampoo (hotel freebie). Seemed great compared to the johnsons baby shampoo I was using up before it, which never seemed to get my hair clean.

Strawberryfield12 · 07/12/2017 22:59

I’ve run out of any full size body lotions, so have started using up some old hotel toiletries. Some of them even have a name of the hotel on. Last two days have been full of memories: Ives Roche lotion from 2011 trip to Poland, shortly after returning from the honeymoon in Greece, some noname lotion from 2012 trip to Istanbul, shortly after being made redundant and on that very trip was first contacted on LinkedIn by my current employer. It’s been so great to go back to the times when DD wasn’t around and we were always going somewhere. I am thinking I might start to take hotel freebies and store them away for few years before using them.

usernameinfinito · 08/12/2017 12:31

kwick I am sorry for the late message. I am thinking of you. Flowers
This thread has helped me a lot during difficult times and I hope it does help you too Flowers.
Anotherpinkie distraction, this is what I need too.

Frugal Thank you for your kind words, I shall work harder to finish all the beauty products. I got the M&S calendar, I have a lot of minis to finish. But I am enjoying using my products Smile

I have finished a superdrug B serum. It felt nice, I will re purchase. Superdrug skincare is good value and it works for me. Clarins works too, but I prefer less expensive things (don't we all).

All the best to you all and let's keep using those products.

P.S. Friend is selling avon now and I can't resist the brochure Wink

kwick · 09/12/2017 08:36

Aww thanks @usernameinfinito I am fine - getting into puppy and Christmas spirit is helping plus advent!!!
I agree - I think Superdrug have goid skincare - I am currently using one of their serums and I like it.

I have an empty:

  • Decleor relaxing pillow mist: this was a gift a few years back when I had a Decleor splurge at Champneys... not so keen on the scent. In order I could use up faster I have been using as a perfume for last 3-4 months... what a relief to go back to my Stella!!!!
Only 4 left on my 25 by Christmas!!!

The midweek holiday party I organized was a smash success but I spent yesterday in bed with a head cold. I always get this when I am super stressed - the moment everything is done, I come down with something. Do you?

Empties do arrive like buses, I have three full size empties today:

[x] Vidal Sassoon ProSeries Repair shampoo 500ml
[x] Margarita Sausas Sampunas dry shampoo, full size
[x] Dove Purely Pampering shower gel, Shea Butter + Vanilla

The shampoo is a staple (I’ve really tricky fine hair), I have a couple of backups and will repurchase.

The dry shampoo is a practical travel souvenir from Lithuania - it made me smile every time I used it, reminding me of good times there. I will continue buying everyday staples as I travel.

The shower gel was a no, bacne inducing and frequently used for bubble baths for DC. So happy it is gone!

I’m still on top of my DIY advent samples - a deely meh L’Oreal Laser something used up on my decollete this morning. It smells like men’s Speed Stick 🤢

FrustratedFrugal · 09/12/2017 09:17

kwick ooh re puppy news - we need pics when your new friend arrives 🐶

FrustratedFrugal · 09/12/2017 09:19

Sorry about shocking grammar + typing 🙈

kwick · 09/12/2017 11:02

frustrated yep - it is cos the adrenaline - which was keeping you going - has stopped. Get well soon Thanks

I have more empties!!

  • Kiko nourishing perfection cream compact foundation: meh, was a repurchase but think I like the mirror bit the most 😬
  • Stella perfume - went to use it and it was empty Xmas Sad, have a larger bottle on the go
  • Superdrug Papaya hair mask - got two uses out of it and it produces curly hair which is always a good thing!

I'm full of the cold too. Uni assignment handed in yesterday so I reckon adrenaline here too.

I forgot I ordered a half price glossy box which appeared yesterday 😳 Not sure im really making headway here

RJnomore1 · 09/12/2017 13:26

Help help help

I'm using a retinal cream and I'm peeling. I know you lot are experts... I'm not sure if I'm doing the right thing, I'm packing moisturisers into my skin? I'm hoping T some point the top layers slough off and I look fab and fresh faced?
