We'll go anywhere in search of things that smell great, and then we discuss them here. Feel free to join us.

Floof, so I should've stayed naked again today but couldn't resist another blast of cardamon kulfi in the form of Elephant, even if it might not have been very gym appropriate

Just to continue the 4160s love, my order for Rome 1963, which was placed just before the weekly offer changed at 4pm, yesterday, arrived this morning! Wasn't expecting that...

Floofy...im in bed too...sadly I'm not glamourous and look like the wreck of the hesperus :(

OCSockOrphanage · 16/09/2017 16:10

Reading over last night's comments, I was reminded that I have a vial of Tauer's Lonesome Rider, which turned up in the Prada envelope (no prizes for filing, Sock) so I chose that for today. It's not as up and at em as Lonestar Memories (I have a tiny dab remaining) and much softer... leather and roses, some pepper notes and apparently iris and incense smoke as it unfurls.

Waiting for DS to get back from London as he tells me he smells fabulous, of Penhaligon's Opus 1870. I really hope he likes it as it was on Allbeauty for less than half-price, so I might have got him 50ml for Christmas.

Hope all of you who need to are feeling better and that the rest of us are warm, dry and contented. Weather is getting worse here by the minute but I am feeling smug as I cleared the ironing pile this morning Halo.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 16/09/2017 16:59

Badders, I've just checked my stash and I do have an extra Lady Rose Lion sample. If you'd like it, send me a pm and I'll pop it in the post on Monday. Smile

Badders08 · 16/09/2017 17:02

Have pm d you x

Judydreamsofhorses · 16/09/2017 19:36

I had a bastard migraine today, so had to cancel lunch with my friend and was in bed until after 5, with the cat - DP was so worried about me he offered to skip football. Feeling a bit better now, so am in fresh pjs and a squirt of 19 Poudre.

floofy your parcel went in the post this afternoon, sorry it wasn't quicker, the late opening post Office's printer was broken.

Badders08 · 16/09/2017 20:00

Oh how rubbish judy :(
Lurgy still hanging around here but friend tomorrow and dh is asking for a Victoria sponge....sigh

MrsMacNally · 17/09/2017 10:05

Flowers to all perfumistas who are poorly.

Am calming down and feeling a bit more human following another upsetting work week (and apologies for gruff posts - have been a bit strung out).

Having a lovely morning with DC - have been doing perfume requests - DS (who has very good taste) wants 'the cowboy one' (Lonestar Memories). (Want to smell Lonestar Rider now OC).

Teen DD looked at me scrambling around for it in my over-full cardboard 'stash' box on my desk and said, ' We're gonna need a bigger boat'. Grin

Morning all! Wore LADDM to the wedding since I didn't have any Halston Wink. But today's SOTD is the soothing rosey beauty of Une Rose Chypree - I feel as if I'm already reverting to Tauer as my go-to house whenever choice feels too difficult! But I do definitely need to try some more big-name classics I think. Once payday has come I'm going to put in a big sample order of Diors and Guerlains - anyone got any tips on where would be best for that? Preferably UK or Europe to avoid the crazy postage price issues!

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 10:29

Friend coming for lunch so are a.d BlackBerry crumble made and Victoria sandwich cooling on the rack
Phew
Off for a shower....think it'll be nightmusk today

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 10:30

Mrsmac...hope this week is better for you

3DGlasses · 17/09/2017 11:49

Morning all.

MrsMac - I tend to opt for Notino for samples of the classics. They're pretty fairly priced, usually available in 1ml, 2ml or 5ml and if they're out of stock they usually come back in quite quickly.

I'm feeling grottsville and premenstrual today. Off out to the park and for lunch with DD and a couple of my old friends and their daughters, but would rather get back into bed and watch films all day Grin. I've got a brutal work week coming up and feeling a bit angsty about it. I feel a decadent dessert after lunch coming on Grin.

SOTD is Al-Haramain Noora, my clean and easy fragrance for blah days.

Badders08 · 17/09/2017 12:24

Come to my house.. ..lots of puds today 😁

Thanks *Badders" - looks soooo tempting Smile , and bet smells pretty great too. Need to do something to use up apples later....

So now the Elephant has finally left the room (blimey, it's long lasting), I've had a proper try of Rome 1963. No idea how I managed to overlook this before (probably by only ever sniffing the very opening on paper...). I really like it. Reminds be a bit of The Great Randello (must be the tobacco) - sort of turn left for gourmand, turn right for floral relationship?

Dh is complaining because I'm not wearing addict!!!

MrsMacNally · 17/09/2017 13:49

Scored my hyacinth Zoflora Grin . Tried for Wilko wipes too but 20 deep at tills. (Students retuning this weekend).

SoTD yesterday was Lady Rose Lion, I don't dislike it but it makes me smell of somebody else. May be similar to DM's going out perfume or perhaps one of her friends, just not ME. It is strong, spent the day emptying a smell old pond and playing with stinky sludge, all I could smell was LRL.

SoTD last night after a shower and bath, was AP original. Much more me, however the opening is a bit blousey.

SoTD today was 4160's UP the Apples and Stairs. Very suitable for clearing out the allotment, eating thick soup, drinking mulled cider and snuggling in a blanket. It is Wassail perfume. Must get more.

MrsMacNally · 17/09/2017 16:25

Pest I have 9ml (spayed once) if you fancy a swap - just not my thing (think it's the onion...) Grin.

SOTD is Heeley Cocobelle, mainly because I used a coconut hair mask in the bath earlier. badders I'm on my way! I made a huge cauldron of chilli which we're having with rice, tortilla chips and dips, yum.

PerfumeIsAMessage · 17/09/2017 18:21

Hope everyone is having a mellow Sunday. We are just back from MILs and I am I'm Ealing Green. It's 30 degrees + at the moment with a scirocco wind so am quite jealous of all the reaching for spicy Tauers. I am just spritzing citrus and greens again!

YouAndYourFloofyCatNose · 17/09/2017 18:36

Judy thank you, I'm excited to try the Gabrielle, as the last "big" one was Allure, I think (?) and that is my favourite Chanel - although I haven't tried all the Exclusifs (really must rectify this!)

I hope you and badders, and 3D and anyone else poorly, are feeling better Flowers I am still laid up and DH has just announced his intention to take a few days off to look after me Grin so I might cajole him into a TK Maxx Expedition - I really shouldn't get excited as our local TKM seems to be just blouses trailing on the floor and bottles of strange liqueurs and odd chipped mugs, as opposed to bargainous wonderful perfumes!

MrsMac hope your coming week is less stressy, I didn't think you sounded gruff at all! I am grumpy as fuck though myself atm so not the best judge Smile

Wassail perfume. Pest, what a wonderful turn of phrase. I'm totally up for some wassailing! When I make it out of bed

SOTD is Sleep Knot in an ironic "well I'm in bed" way - it's very creamy and comforting and actually a perfect choice!

DD kindly offered me some Lush Bubbly shower gel before - this was lovely and orangey and yummy. I really enjoyed it. This unprecedented kindness was clearly a one off though, as I can hear all the DCs having a massive row downstairs, apparently about vegetarianism Hmm

YouAndYourFloofyCatNose · 17/09/2017 18:39

Gosh, I just read that back and could I go on about being in bed any more?! HmmBlush Deary me. Apologies for sharing the Pity Party ---- Smile

3DGlasses · 17/09/2017 19:07

Cooey!

Badders that Victoria sponge looks heaven scent! I ended up having an enormous roast beef lunch in a 'naice' pub, followed by apple crumble with a cobnut crumble topping and lashings of custard and red wine. I feel a bit better now Grin.

I'm really curious about Gabrielle, too, Floofy, although I haven't loved a Chanel fragrance since Coco in my late teens and 19 in my early 20s. My mum wears Allure and I can't get past that association. Reviews are under whelming, but it aint over 'til I sniff it myself!

Tonight I'm wearing Al-Rehab Soft - which is lemon sponge cake in a spray bottle basically - as I wanted a sweet treat, but go off richer stuff like Addict at certain times of the month Blush.

I was very miffed at lunch that nobody but DD noticed my perfume ('you smell lovely, Mum'), but when a friend of a friend turned up for a drink in a cloud of LVEB all the other women at the table gushed about how her lovely aroma. Philistines! Grin

3DGlasses · 17/09/2017 19:09

Wish you all better, peeps Flowers

MrsMacNally · 17/09/2017 19:10

Very mellow Smile.

Blimey, that Zoflora's strong stuff! Smells good but scared myself witless when I finally put my reading glasses on and looked at the label. Not quite sure where to store given it's 'highly flammable'.

PiaM - hope you didn't fly with it! Shock
