We'll go anywhere in search of things that smell great, and then we discuss them here. Feel free to join us.

Funnily enough, I have asked a few lickable men what they are wearing (one was a Tom Ford Hmm) without incident, but I've also asked women and quite a few of them have thought I was just attempting to seduce them Blush) Maybe it's the hair Grin

YY to the 4711 love - I remember the menopausal Venn diagram - has anyone got the ice cologne stick? Gorgeous.

Jealous of all of you who have decent TK Maxx's - all I managed to snag at mine was a Library of Perfume Gingerbread which is a jokey present for my Christmas and perfume obsessed DD. The rest were awful, PMs and definitely bargain basement rather than bargain.

3D I love love love Kenzo Amour - lovely Autumnal scent. Warm and comforting.

Interesting to hear how the Vipers' creations are developing, MrsS tell MrS to take one for the team and wear his! (I was going to say offer to lick him but it sounds kind of rude)

SOTD is Library of Fragrance orange blossom - bit meh but a useful "holding" scent whilst I decide on a proper scent Smile

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, with acceptable levels of licking!

explodingkittens · 10/09/2017 08:59

Yes, Cassis en Feuille was lovely, didn't last as long as I'd like though; maybe I need to moisturise beforehand?

Judy I have a sample of By the fireplace but haven't tried it yet (waiting for colder weather). So I suppose that's not much help to you! Happy to pop on a bit this evening and report back?

Must get to a TKMaxx soon. Would love to give Womanity a whirl - never tried a Mugler (scared of Angel/Alien tbh) but this sounds odd enough to be worth a punt.

SOTD is Un Rose Chypree. Gorgeous powdery rose with a spicy undertow at the mo. It got a favourable comment from dp this morning too, after he complained that yesterday's post-bath Molecule 01 gave him a headache Hmm. I need something delicious and long-lasting today as I'm heading into the office to work on a big project that's due on Thursday...feeling fed up, stressed and apprehensive.

explodingkittens · 10/09/2017 09:01

And I'm definitely up for a Lecherous Woman scent-making session Grin

Badders08 · 10/09/2017 09:16

Me too!!
I'm at a dangerous age 😂😣

MrsMacNally · 10/09/2017 09:40

Have had a peachy patch at TK Maxx here of late (almost given up on eBay for the time being) Shock.

Have found the classic Silences, and two really great sleb perfumes (for fans of modern woody/incense style things): SJP's Stash and the Pharrell Williams/CdG Girl. Each £12.99.

They have a loyalty card now Wink

They also had loads of The Library of Fragrance at £4.99. Saw Bonfire and thought of you Pest. Any recommendations?

I might pop to t k Maxx tomorrow.. .

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/09/2017 13:14

kittens, yes, please. I wouldn't be buying until next month, so no rush.

I love Womanity, although I loathe the bondage-chain bottle. It's quite foggy on me, a really interesting scent - that said, I never replaced mine when it ran out.

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/09/2017 13:14

Figgy. Not foggy.

Badders08 · 10/09/2017 13:25

Was wondering what a foggy scent was!
😁

Amour Nocturne comes close to light fog! Knew I'd smelt something this week. Great autumn gourmand.

Badders08 · 10/09/2017 13:46

I think of foggy as a watery, salty indistinct smell...not my thing at all

SeptemberWhenItComes · 10/09/2017 14:02

Misty sounds better than foggy, doesn't it?

Who remembers the MN's DH who thought Miss Dior was called "Misty Whore"? Grin I do like sharing that when any tenuous link comes up Smile

MrsMacNally · 10/09/2017 14:06

Grin Could be the flanker to L'A d'LOW?

Amour Nocturne is a bit like bonfire night mist/fog (some gunpowder in their with the milky caramel).

I've been making piccalilli Grin it sort of drowns out the Concoction du Bonfire, which is smelling a lot less bonfirey, dare I say foggy. No clue where my phone is for pictures, it is Sunday so have abandoned it somewhere.

Rewarded myself after several hours at work on a Sunday grrrr with a quick sprint around Selfridges' perfume hall. I now smell very random. Scored samples of Good Girl Gone Bad and Straight to Heaven after engaging the lovely Young Maaaaan in a highly amusing conversation about Kilian's new range of lingerie Shock Grin

Am now drenched in Coromandel, Feminite De Bois and something figgy by Terry De Gunzberg whose name escapes me. Good thing the train home is pretty empty...

Also tried the lovely rhubarby Aedes De Venustas but at £250 for a standard bottle I think I'm just going to stick with getting a sample!

An orange lady expressed considerable surprise when I said I'd like to try Fracas. She sprayed some on a card for me and said 'prepare yourself' - she wasn't wrong. Like being punched in the nose by tuberose and jasmine; not my bag at all but glad I've finally tried it. She then said 'Only ladies who truly understand perfume wear Fracas' - guess that's me told.

The Lutens are deffo all going to 100mls only (someone mentioned this on the last thread I think) so last chance to bag a smaller bottle...unless they all start showing up in tkMaxx fingers crossed

MrsSchadenfreude · 10/09/2017 16:25

I hate Fracas with a passion. I was given a bottle once, and it went straight to the charity shop - I couldn't even wash the stuff off, it had to wear off in its own sweet time. I do have a bottle of Robert Piguet's Visa, which DH bought me, which I like very much.

SOTD is Friedemodin's Feu Follet. I think it is a good one for this time of year as it feels quite autumnal to me. (This was another TK Max bargain.)

MrsMacNally · 10/09/2017 16:38

Pains me to confess this but I smelt Bandit a few weeks ago and didn't like that. Hoping its a current formulation thing...

That cake looks amazing, badders

I've been mooching around in my pyjamas all day, partly because of period pain, but partly just because it's wet and horrid and I'm lazy. Anyway, I've had a bath and fresh pyjamas, and am in Chanel Gabrielle. It is meh. Pleasant, but meh.

Badders08 · 10/09/2017 18:48

We are all in pjs now judy
It's wet and quite cold here

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/09/2017 18:52

badders I love pyjama days. We have a roast chicken in the oven, which smells amazing. I'm such a fan of a roast dinner at this time of year.
