Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.

Speaking of JL I ordered and sadly returned 2 of these lights this week, they are absolutely amazing and look so cool with our Hue colour change bulbs, but unfortunately didn't look right in our living/dining room. They'd be great in a kids bedroom though.

blair the first one is the one I wanted!!! The second one I tried on but didn’t like and the third one I already have a version of it.
kitty I’m tempted as my dp gave me £100 and although I could afford the rest, things could get a bit tight with running 2 houses. Until we know what the future holds, I am staying out with dc whilst h rents somewhere. Mil usually gives me money but this year gave me an amazon voucher annoyingly!

Blair I have been to the Ritz for tea a few times. Top and skirt or a dress have been my outfit choices.

It's been a stressful week at work not helped by the fact that the miracle gel by Sally Hansen is utterly rubbish. I was having to do last minute nail varnish fixing just before I went into a big meeting.

I think you could wear a leather jacket blair, especially as you would take it off when you’re in there.

Hola MNVers! Not too much news from me - have been mostly working!

Bought a black silk tuxedo shirt from H&M which arrived today. Looks good though I haven't tried it! Also ordered this dress for a black tie dinner to celebrate promotions to my grade at work - hopefully it will work! Could shop the wardrobe I suppose, but slightly over my fighting weight at the moment and don't want to feel shit thinking 'I looked better in this a year ago', as I'm trying to sort out my dodgy relationship with food - so far, so good.

Also ordered the GHD waving wand, as I've quite enjoyed having a wave in my hair but my natural wave needs a bit of... refinement!

Other than that not bought too much recently, other than a couple of pairs of Gap jeans (who seem to have upped their game) and a pair of Spanx faux leather leggings which I am living in.

Hi Amber! I know what you mean about being off your fighting weight. Mine is fur to the post illness and surgery mess up of my metabolism but it's frigging annoying. I remember you have had a tense relationship with food in the past so i will be rooting for you. X

QueenC, I missed that about Amazon. They once told me that I was one of the biggest customers as did John Lewis and Selfridges you can either sell it to me or Amber for face value.

This week I have been living in my grey lowlands. Absolutely love them. Yesterday I wore them with my McQueen cashmere dress (can't believe I was going to send it back!), and today it's with my Miu Miu cashmere dress. These short sleeve knit dresses are perfect for this time of the year! I have been using my "new" Luella Giselle and you can tell it's a classic because it's had so much love from all the young handbag officianados in my office.

What flavour Gap jeans did you get Amber? I think I could do with some new jeans but also above my optimum weight so don't want to spend £££. I'm finding working means nutrition gets put on the back burner as tend to be too tired to cook much when I get home. Not ideal.

Does anyone look at Endource? It's a collated shopping site but I find it pretty good for mid-range brands. They tend to have Hush, Finery, &OS, Ganni etc and it's very easy to shop for what you're after.

Dd1's birthday too (well on Monday) so am having five 7-8 year olds round for a sleepover tonight. Wish me luck

Stokey, i am a big fan of Gaps as I think they have good fit and longevity. I think Shop got the new curvy fit Gaps, which made her arse look great

Currently trying to work out my ootd while making pancakes and berries. I think Burberry quilted jacket, beige white company cashmere sweater over a white tee, skinny jeans, brown aquatilia brown long boots. Now just need to sort out my scuzzy nails as more of them have chipped.
