Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Fedup I love the ballet too, I'm a stickler for timing as I did it growing up and our strict teacher was most keen on this. I noticed the rather lax approach at the opera and it bugged me. Must go to the ballet again soon

DryWhiteagainW · 31/10/2017 20:56

Blair your usual smart stuff, obv no jeans. Check tie and jacket rules, we got caught out with DS last year --admittedly for dinner-obv no jeans.

My Ils have just called to ask whether they can arrive the day before we invited them for 5 nights Shock Christmas. I'm feeling proud because I politely said I'd prefer it if they came on the day we'd suggested.

Sequinned vests are rather scarce on the high st Hmm

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:18

At least they asked Dry. My ILs would just turn up and assume it was ok.

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:19

What colour sequins? dark grey here

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:23

top not vest

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:24

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:25

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:26

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:28

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 22:32

DryWhiteagainW · 31/10/2017 23:01

Thanks so much shop, you're great. Think I'm just fussy. Like the petrol Mango one a lot.

VivaVegas · 31/10/2017 23:13

Just catching up after a week away in the sun for half term, missing the warmth and blue skies already!
Really sorry to hear your awful situation Queen and can only echo what has already been said.
Love all the sequin links, very keen on the Monsoon Lara one. Did you get a top for the weekend Shop?
It’s my birthday next week too, I think there are a few of us around the same time??
I have just been invited to a Christmas wedding and the dress code is black tie, I’m a bit rubbish at stuff like this, I’m assuming that means djs for the gents and posh frocks for the ladies?

Dreamqueen · 01/11/2017 06:36

Great tops Shop I'm very tempted by the Monsoon "Juliet" one. I'll go and look at it later this week.

Great news on the broadband Marsha It must have been very frustrating without it for so long.

Well done on being firm Dry

shopafrolic · 01/11/2017 07:50

viva yup DJs for the guys and dresses for the ladies. Fun :)
I haven’t found a top for my birthday meal unfortunately. I saw an amazing Equipment tie neck silk blouse in the Outnet but it’s over £200 so way out of budget. I’ll probably wear my pink RL silk one but not sure how it will look with leather trousers. Is black and fuschia a no no?

VivaVegas · 01/11/2017 09:08

Thanks Shop now need to find something to wear, nice to get dressed up now and again!
I have a bright pink silk Mint Velvet Top and I have worn it with black leather/ponte trousers but for some reason prefer it with really dark indigo jeans, not sure why. Maybe it’s the contrast in fabrics.
Not sure if this is your thing or too high necked? black Top. I saw it on The Fashion Lift blog and it looks nicer in the photos on her.

VivaVegas · 01/11/2017 22:16

Was it something I said Hmm

MarshaBrady0 · 02/11/2017 07:44

Noo Viva all good. Christmas wedding sounds ace. Half term sun must have been lovely. I'd go with a dressy dress, what do you have or would you like to get something new?

FedupNagging · 02/11/2017 08:12

Black and fuschia is a striking colour combination so go for it Shop

Christmas weddings are wonderful Viva and yes posh frocks and dj's.

Blair I've been to the Ritz a couple of times - the first was with gf's and we went to town - dress, heels etc but smart casual will do too. We took also dm who has many & varied food allergies & they were fantastic providing a fabulous tea which catered to her needs and did not compromise quality in the slightest (so you could take dh!!).

No fashion news, sorry except am loving the MV jeans and mango batwing jumper.

Everyonelovessparkles · 02/11/2017 11:16

Hope you enjoy the afternoon tea blair. I agree with the others, it’s a great opportunity to dress up!

Glad you’ve got the B.B. sorted marsha. Sounds like you are making good progress!

I think pink and black will look good shop. There seems to be lots of nice stuff on the outnet at the moment and some good bargains if you have the £££. Everything i like is always in the price bracket up. Why can’t I win the lottery Grin.

viva depending on your budget, lkbennet have some nice evenings type dresses in and I think there was 25% off a £300 spend??? Lucky you with some half term sun!

Yes I haven’t seen many sequins yet dry either. Maybe it’s too early?? There does seem to be alot of embroidery and velvet around though.

It’s sooooo cold here today. OOTD is a knee length navy fine cord skirt and my new cherry jumper from monsoon, but am still cold.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 02/11/2017 11:29

Happy birthday QueenC, hope you're enjoying your day Flowers Cake [fizz]

Thanks all - could I wear my leather biker to the Ritz with (eg) DVF wrap dress? My sister doesn't have anything smarter than that coat wise, so I don't want her to feel underdressed.

Fedup I didn't think of asking them re dietary requirements! But surely an afternoon tea with no bread/scones/cakes (he can't eat carbs/sugar) wouldn't really be afternoon tea? Grin

Shop I also think pink shirt and black leather leggings would look great.

Dry you'd look fab in sequins and leather skirt. I always see lots of sequin tops on asos, but maybe more likely to be a cami which is annoying for the bra situation.

justasecond · 02/11/2017 13:00

Happy birthday ,queenc hope you are ok. Have been thinking of you and wishing you strength xx
Apologies for being awol so much going on atm. Need to catch up properly!
Btw this is my first post on my phone hope it turns out okBlush

queencerulean · 02/11/2017 13:40

Just popping in to say hello. Haven’t got time to look at all the links but shop that tee is great. If it was a sweatshirt —and not white— I’d get it.

I need some help. The bracelet I really wanted is a bit out of my price range although I’m tempted to say fuck it. This Monica viander one is similar in that it’s got the toggle tie thing that I’m after but I’m not sure I really love it as opposed to it’ll do. Anyone seen anything similar. Budget £100/150

Happy birthday QueenC Thanks sending big hugs and good wishes

Next saga, JL stuffed up mattress order, which means another six weeks. I could have sailed to Australia by the time we get one. I can't even rant-lock about this, too annoyed.
