Well, summer barely happened so we're ready to pack away the shorts and the kaftans and get excited about boots, cosy knits and anything new and shiny.
We're often scared to link what we're lusting after for fear of lurkers buying it before we have the chance. So if you're a lurker, come and join us.
Carrying on from here

Why do I find going out tops so hard to find? It’s my birthday next weekend and I want a top to wear with leather skinnies. I cannot find anything and I know i’ll end up in a band tee with a blazer and stiletto boots but i’m bored. Plus I feel it should be a bit dressier since we’re off to a NAICE place. I wondered about a silk blouse with a tie neck but I can’t find anything. Has anyone seen anything that they could see me in? Jewel tones or black?

Stokey · 29/10/2017 08:57

I could see you in this Shop, poly though. or green with ruffle sleeves or blac from &OS. Have pmed you too, not that much use I'm afraid :(

Lib you sound so relaxed and happy, am very impressed with your capsule wardrobe and jealous of your flip flopped OOTD. FT work is pretty intense. I'm enjoying my job but feel I barely have time for anything else like MNing. Am already thinking of asking if I can go to 4 days when my probation is up.

I just bought The Ordinary caffeine eye stuff Bernice and One. It's only been three days though so not much difference yet.

Your bags Blingy Envy - pretty amazing purchases.

I think I'm going to ask for a bag for Xmas but will be on the cheaper side, certainly less than £500. I need one that is A4 to carry all my work crap around. Thinking a slouchy tote maybe.

Exciting about your architect Marsha. Ours was round for an emergency meeting last night as the planner sent her an email at 6.30pm on Friday saying she had til 9.30 on Monday to withdraw or risk rejection, so frustrating not to mention unprofessional.

Love the velvet platforms Serenite - the Very ones are a great dupe. Glad you got the ring QueenC - thinking of you.

Dry you can definitely rock sequins & leather Grin

shopafrolic · 29/10/2017 09:24

Sounds stressful with the architect Stokey
Thanks for the links, love them. Can’t do poly though. I saw that &OS one last night and liked it so perhaps i’ll try it. I quite fancy an emerald green silk shirt but I haven’t seen any.

shopafrolic · 29/10/2017 09:40

Is this nice or am I losing it?

MarshaBrady0 · 29/10/2017 10:43

Not sure about that Shop

The outnet might be a good place to go

silk not great on sizing and not the right colour, although the collar is, good price for silk!

Very sheer Versace so would need something under it, not sure how to do that well

Not right colour DvF but in case someone fancies a navy one this is nice

MarshaBrady0 · 29/10/2017 10:44

Better colour Cavalli

MarshaBrady0 · 29/10/2017 10:50

Stokey that does sound stressful! What are you getting done and what does withdraw or rejection mean? Esp the withdraw part.
Let me think re bag

Blingy another great bag, on a roll! I really need a new watch strap, must get onto it.

Shop if you love the one you linked, ignore me!

MarshaBrady0 · 29/10/2017 10:57

Safiyaa silk good colour but the neck might be too annoying

Stokey this is over budget and sold out at Matches, but I always thought the SL tote could be good for work, if it goes on sale it could be good Saint Laurent.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/10/2017 11:02

shop I think step away from the M&S prints Grin And it's too shiny. Found a few others:
This is white but looks really nice.
Pink at M&S, looks great value
"Cherry"
Printed at Whistles
Blue Rockins with a tie neck

Will post this so I don't lose links

MarshaBrady0 · 29/10/2017 11:03

Does anyone know how to change the look of this site, including turning off coloured posts it's hurting my eyes. Not the easiest of sites to set up, they should do some user testing ;

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/10/2017 11:10

Love that SL tote Marsha, it's on my future wishlist too.

Stokey sounds like you have loads going on with house and job etc, hope it calms down and hope you can drop to 4 days if you decide you do want to.

So I had an asos order (of petite trousers) and my boohoo order (of tall tops - I am 2 people in one body). I ended up keeping the bodysuit as it fits perfectly but will need serious tit tape. Everything else is going back. I need to stop buying cheap clothes really, but I am determined to try Zara trousers as my sister has a pair that she says fits her bum and waist.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 29/10/2017 13:42

Is this too mmf for your Shop?

My fave so far is the navy DvF one.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/10/2017 13:52

hello all

i am at MIL's now looking after the dog. i actually had a full and decent nights sleep last night so feel good for that. Think i'm going to have a rummage int he towns new tkmaxx when im out tomorrow with one of my sisters. we hit the jackpot last time i was here and managed to pick up a really nice french connection coat for her as an early birthday present, hopefully there will be other nice things for me to pick up this week Smile

shopafrolic · 29/10/2017 18:05

I've got a stinking cold - thought I was off with the M&S one. Thanks for all the lovely links.
My fave is the DVF one but not in my size, and the Stories one that Stokey linked. I do have a bright pink silk shirt similar to the one Blair linked but have already worn it out with the couple we will be having dinner with.
Blair I'd love a Rockins shirt. This is my favourite which Zoe Ball wore on ITT the other night. But I also love this Skully of the Valley one. Too ££££ though. I'm toying with the idea of getting a scarf though to wear with a cheaper black silk blouse.
Have Uniqlo stopped doing their silk ones? They all seem to be MMF now?
Glad you're getting some rest One - it looks v cosy there.

FedupNagging · 29/10/2017 18:22

Loving all the shirt links - my faves are the Safiyaa and Versace but can really see you in the Rockins ones Shop.

Marsha it sounds like you've been having a great time with your dp's. I'm not keen on opera but love the ballet & go as often as can either live at the theatre or live on the big screen - our local cinema hands out a glass of wine, all very civilised!

Blair the Boohoo shirt is really nice, shame you had to return.

Stokey it's all very full on for you atm, working 4 days will definitely help. Mara are back ft now?

Another fab bag Blingy Can't help with the miracle gel I'm afraid.

The ring is lovely Queen and every time you wear it, it will give you strength Flowers

FedupNagging · 29/10/2017 18:27

Shop have you had a look in Karen Millan?

Black long sleeve

Metallic top

shopafrolic · 29/10/2017 19:07

Love that first one Fedup but i can’t do polyester - it’s £££ for poly. Everything is getting more expensive.
Trinny did a live Zara Shop the other evening and was saying because of the exchange rate she reckons jackets have gone up £20 year on year. Shock
I’m counting down to my birthday. Can’t wait to finally wear my Acne boots!
QueenC i’ve been thinking of you lots especially with your birthday coming up. I hope you will still have some lovely things to do.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/10/2017 22:37

shop it's not a shirt but what about this? Gorgeous colour.

shopafrolic · 30/10/2017 10:33

That is a fab colour Blair
I'm waiting to look on the Outnet this morning but the site is having an upgrade.
So I am wearing my &OS oversized white sweatshirt this morning. So far the dog has jumped up on me so I have a lovely paw print on it and then making coffee for the builders I seem to have splashed all the way across my tummy. Perhaps not the best purchase! Good thing it was in the sale. It looked fab when it was clean though Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/10/2017 11:36

Shop the outnet is back up and the new in has lots of Equipment :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/10/2017 12:25

OOTD is red Tippi, navy Hobbs culottes and red boots. If I get any comments I'm going to say it's clown-inspired for Halloween Blush

shop I have noticed the prices of things going up quite a bit, notably J Crew (I think UK brands probably just drop the quality lol). Didn't realise you were having work done at home - exciting!

I am going for afternoon tea at the Ritz next week, managed to get a last minute booking for a great time slot with a voucher. Going with my littlest sis as DH sadly can't eat any of the food now haha. What to wear?!

DryWhiteagainW · 30/10/2017 22:10

Stokey I've never "rocked" anything, will give it a go though!

shopafrolic · 31/10/2017 09:26

Well that's a lie Dry I've seen you rock plenty.
Blair no idea about the Ritz sorry. It's on my list of things I want to do.

MarshaBrady0 · 31/10/2017 16:55

Blair that sounds lovely, I've been with my family, actually no it was The Savoy, is it about the same level no idea. I did dress up for it at the time and wore a Stella Mc dress.

What do you have in your wardrobe, remind me, I can remember that gorgeous skirt!

MarshaBrady0 · 31/10/2017 16:56

A date I've waited for - we got broadband, with BT - stuff Virgin they are crap and the huge conifers next door are gone, giving us loads of light in the garden. And all roses planted. Getting there!
