Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

Does anyone else think a lot of the stuff Hush sells looks like stuff Peacocks sells?

ilovecherries · 23/08/2017 12:23

My parcel arrived today, but I've had a bit of a wobble about the ruched skirt and dress. I've spent the last decade wearing tents, and now I'm all anxious about showing my body off. Haven't got used to how it looks yet. I ordered the XL and the L and the L is plenty big enough. But...argh - I can see my shape again. Hmm. The sloppy joe is going back, the rust makes me look ill. The star jumper I like, just fretting I'm trying to relive my youth.

No, or obviously we'd all be shopping in Peacocks instead ... and even if some of it did look like what Peacocks sells in photos (although can't say I've ever seen anything with any style or quality in Peacocks), it certainly doesn't feel like nylon rubbish!

Squashit · 23/08/2017 12:35

I have had a look at the materials and remain unimpressed.

Having trawled around Peacocks/Primark/NewLook with a teen recently I can certainly see this look can be done for less.

Each to there own but I am just stuck by how ordinary yet overpriced it seems.

miffy2 · 23/08/2017 14:31

Got my first delivery.
Keeping:
Amie joggers in navy (could probably size down again though)
Helen jumper in Candy - surprisingly lovely. Very similar to a grey I got last year in Stories. Perfect pink shade for me and it is quite thick so hopefully won't get holes or too many noticeable bobbles.
Wide jersey top in grey. Ordering in black now as it is lovely on.

Returning:
Ren dress. Nice enough but not worth the ££. Didn't really flatter me.
Erica knit top. Way too short in the body. Might size up and see if it fits better.
Que sera sera T. Again nice enough but not worth the ££.

Waiting on second order including Ivy dress, Florence skirt and Biker star sweat top.

Might place one more order to get the sloppy joe in yellow, a larger Erica top and the wide jersey top in black.

grannycake · 23/08/2017 15:22

I'm a huge Hush fan. I've just bought grey suede ankle boots for £90 in the sale along with grey long sleeve t shirt, navy joggers and striped fringed trimmed jumper. Then from the new collection I've bought grey tara dress, burgundy Ivy dress and pink raglan sleeve long sleeved T.

I'm keeping it all as the sizing suits me and as I'm only 5 foot none of it is too short.

Can't wear the midi/maxi though as they drown me.

Would really like those red shoes as well but staying away from the website at the moment

Whatthefoxgoingon · 23/08/2017 15:26

Grannycake, please tell us where the Tara dress ends up on your legs. I'm taller than you but could use a guide to length on a non-model person. Thanks!

Nearlyadoctor · 23/08/2017 15:38

Final decision is to keep the Ivy dress, so comfy. Also sized up in the Love jumper in the end to medium although I'm only a 10 top it looks slightly better oversized.
Just awaiting the Drew dress now - loving this collection.

grannycake · 23/08/2017 17:55

The Tara dress is just on the knee - mid knee cap if you see what I mean. It's longer than the Ruched skirt which I only wear with tights

Uhohmummy · 23/08/2017 21:54

I love the look of the new collection - want loads of it!
Spanner in the works is that I'm 5 months pregnant and already have a big-ish bump. Could someone who has tried the Ivy dress on in real life tell me if they think it would work with a bump? I'm usually a solid size - would a medium be best?
I also love the look of the Althea dress but it looks less forgiving on a growing tummy.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2017 23:18

No I don't think that it looks like Peacocks clothes either. I think the main difference are the prints are totally garish in Peacocks. I think the quality of hush dresses are pretty good. I also think that they are not seen everywhere in the high street.

If you think they are too pricey, don't buy.

Uhohmummy · 23/08/2017 23:28

^^ Should have typed size 12! Whoops.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2017 23:32

It would totally work with a bump. Completely perfect. i am a 12 and chose the small and its just right. I think the small may still fit you [ depending upon your bump] but maybe go for the medium for extra space?

neveradullmoment99 · 23/08/2017 23:33

If i had a bump it would be the dress I would wear ALL the time!

Uhohmummy · 24/08/2017 07:46

Thank you never - I was tempted anyway but you have convinced me to go for it! Wink

SapphireStrange · 24/08/2017 10:46

Tragic, thanks for the Ashley Report! Do you think they might 'dress up' a bit if you put them with, say, flat smart sandals and a decent T-shirt? I'd like something a bit smarter than tracky bottoms, but it needn't be VERY much smarter as I'm a scruff basically my style is quite casual.

3boysNeedABiggerKitchen · 24/08/2017 11:27

First time Hush-er here.
Size 10 (sometimes 12 in some shops), post 3 babies so a little more lumpy than I would like, but not too much, 5'7".

I bought the sienna dress in the sale in size 10, I really like it. Will wear with ankle boots probably.

Tyler jersey jumpsuit. A new try for me, comfortable, flattering, love it. Small was fine.

Tara dress in forest, size 10, will be great for parties and work. Tempted to buy another and wondering why it took this long to find this dress. Sorry flattering.

Laska5772 · 24/08/2017 12:29

Ok... I now have the Ivy dress in all three colours! BlushBlushBlush... Yes it is utterly mad, but its just such a great dress on me and I know am going to wear these such a lot .. ...

Also have just receive the the Cannes top in Black.. this is also really nice. A definate keeper.. goes brilliantly with the Marina striped skirt I bought last season..

I have to stop right now.. although I do have the wide jersey top on backorder Blush again

Whatthefoxgoingon · 24/08/2017 13:33

Thanks grannycake, looks like it won't be too short on me yay!

TragicRabbit · 24/08/2017 14:01

saphire
I think they could be dressed up. I'm a slouchy scruff myself, but I do occasionally need to look vaguely smart which is what I love about Hush Smile

MumBod · 24/08/2017 14:03

Oh god, my sister has enabled me.

I've order some Amie joggers and two pairs of Ashley trousers, with the intention of choosing the best colour.

I'll be the best-dressed person in the workhouse.

SapphireStrange · 24/08/2017 14:09

Thanks Tragic!

See you in the home for the chronically overspent, MumBod.

ilovecherries · 24/08/2017 14:25

I sent the ruched stuff back, but the Ashley trousers are the bees knees. Trying to justify a trouser that looks like a jogger but needs dry cleaning like a suit. So warm and comfy though.

MumBod · 24/08/2017 14:29

Dry cleaning??

I never spotted that...

Hmm.
