Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

Ok, this is a bit random but as we're all fans thought I'd ask - does anyone want a (free) pair of unworn Hush charcoal cropped harems in size L?

I bought them from John Lewis online but didn't get round to returning them in time for a refund (don't live in UK) and they've been sitting in my wardrobe for the past 6 months.

I have no words to describe just how hideous they looked on me, but hopefully someone on this thread might look much better in them and I won't feel so guilty about not getting round to sending them back

If anyone would like them I'm happy to stick them in the post when I'm back in the UK next week.

SesameSparkle · 22/08/2017 15:22

need I also bought the ruched skirt in khaki in the sale. The sales are quite good and I got some bargains in January and again in the summer.

Brit you could try taking it back to JL as a return without receipt. That way they might at least refund the latest selling price onto a gift card which you could put towards something else.

needastrongone · 22/08/2017 15:47

Brit I emailed customer service, who apologised profusely etc etc and sent me a pre paid postage form and returns paper to return the T Shirts.

It's a lovely colour isn't it Sesame and 20 quid is great value for the wear I'll get from it.

I'm really trying to stay off the site Grin

MumBod · 22/08/2017 15:54

Yes please, BritAbroad!

miffy2 · 22/08/2017 17:34

Has anybody ordered/received the Ashley trousers? I am tempted but not sure. I would like to get the sloppy joe in yellow and hate to pay for shipping ;)

TragicRabbit · 22/08/2017 17:49

miffy2 I've got the Ashley trousers in midnight. I was unsure because of the price and tbf they look like tracky bottoms.
However.
They are beautiful and the material is really thick and they are super flattering.

miffy2 · 22/08/2017 17:56

TragicRabbit thanks for that. That confirms what I thought. I think I have enough 'better than PJs/trackies but not quite suitable for work' bottoms. I might pass for now.
I have two deliveries enroute and if I need to get a different size in anything I could throw the sloppy joe into that order.

Re getting refunds for damaged items, I have a Linen Boyfriend jumper with a tiny hole in the front (gently worn and always handwashed). As stated above they have offered a postage label to send it back and if it is deemed to be an issue they will give me a refund or credit as it is no longer available to replace. However I love the jumper. I wonder if I should just be brave and try and give it a little stitch? The hole is small enough now for me to do it; if I leave it any longer it will grow.

Have recently discovered Hush and am waiting on the long harems. Which of their trousers would be good workwear? Am thinking along the lines of slim joggers/harems with heels? To finally break my skinny jean habit.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2017 18:16

The Haywood cropped jacket is very me in theory, but I wasn't keen in reality. It looked like something you might find at the tail end of a Zara sale, for about £20. I thought the gold cheapened it.

chloechloe · 22/08/2017 19:19

I've decided I'm not going to bother with the Tina dress as it's £25 more than the Tara and it's not entirely clear why even given the different fabric, plus the reviews are pretty divided. I'm still tempted by the green or grey Tara though.

For those of you with the ruched skirts, what are you wearing them with? I have the black and khaki but rarely wear them as I can't work on what goes best as a top!?

Thanks for the return info!

SesameSparkle · 22/08/2017 19:52

The black ruched skirt looks great with a silk shirt - I have several from stories. Tucking the shirt gives me the illusion of a waist (I don't really have one), and then the narrow skirt against blousey top visually slims me (ie worn like a pencil skirt). I can also wear with pretty much any loose top that goes with skinnies - including an untucked shirt. Underneath I'll wear tights and boots, although bare legs/sandals is okay too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 22/08/2017 19:56

Only worn my ruched skirt once so far, and that was with an untucked silk shirt, black opaques and heeled ankle boots.

Bloomed · 22/08/2017 20:02

I saw a friend wearing the ruched skirt with a sweatshirt and boots. Looked great and she also wears them with a shirt tucked in.

Laska5772 · 22/08/2017 20:12

Well , I have surprised myself by going fo r the Ivy dress in both green and burgundy rather than the Cassie dress (which was the one i liked first, ) as only looked at the Ivy from Merricats recommend on here so thanks!.
Cassie was just too short in the waist fro me. I looked like a 'bunched up' little girl!. The Ivy is a tad expensive I feel at £55 , but having tried them both on with opaques, flats and boots I can see me getting a lot of wear from them..

I sized down though.. usually get M but got a S in this

chloechloe · 22/08/2017 21:20

Thanks for the styling ideas for the ruched skirt - I have a lovely silk shirt from Other Stories that I'll try it with!

needastrongone · 22/08/2017 21:56

Ruched skirt - sloppy joe type jumper and biker boots. Loose blouse. Sweatshirt and ankle boots. T Shirt and trainers, denim shirt, vest and trainers?

Laska5772 · 22/08/2017 22:00

Need!! what was it that you said? .... Wink

MerricatsHouse · 22/08/2017 22:40

Having another look...I really must stop! I really really want that Sabrina cardi, it looks gorgeous. But don't know if I can justify the 100 quid. Can anyone confirm if it is at all itchy? It says super soft but the wool content is making me wonder, I usually wear cotton knitwear as the slightest woolly-ness bothers me.

BritabroadinAsia · 23/08/2017 02:29

MumBod - will pm you.

MumBod · 23/08/2017 06:41

Merricats sorry but it's as soft as a baby's bum. I'm really sensitive to itchy wool but there's not the remotest hint of itch. Sorry.
Grin

MumBod · 23/08/2017 06:41

Brit - oooh thank you! Grin

starlight36 · 23/08/2017 10:43

Just returning a black modal Cassie dress. Really nice heavy fabric and didn't look too busty on me - am a curvy 32F. However length a bit odd for me. Am 5ft5 and it just finished below the knee which combined with the gathered waist just makes me look a bit dumpy. A real shame as it felt comfy on. A great everyday dress if the fit suits others.
Have dived back in and ordered a Drew to see if that style is any better.

MerricatsHouse · 23/08/2017 11:17

Dammit MumBod such an enabler! Grin Fine, I've ordered the Sabrina, I've given in. It looks like it will go with absolutely everything and will be good for my cold office in the winter, so I'm calling it a good investment. Have also gone for the Ivy dress in black just to round it off.

Now I have forbidden myself to look at the Hush site any more!

Nearlyadoctor · 23/08/2017 11:37

Anyone else size 8-10 tried the Ivy dress? My original thought was it looks like a sack on me, but having tried it again, it is really comfortable and I quite like it with leggings and boots. DH & DD not convinced though.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 23/08/2017 11:41

Do you know when the code expires? Also does anyone have an azalea dress? Thoughts?
