Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I think it would be good on all sizes tbh, the skirt part is ruched and hides a multitude of sins

captainfunderpants · 18/09/2017 15:51

Beast ha! yes I used to hate online ordering but with Hush free delivery and free returns at the moment (use AUTUMN17 code) and free click & collect from JL at my local Waitrose I'm doing a lot of "just to see" ordering right now!

Got the black crew neck sweater and ditsy skirt from JL this weekend. Love them both but the crew neck may need to go back and order a size down.

Also just returned the Tyler jumpsuit in S - tempted to go down to XS and see if it looks better.

Just to see, you understand Grin

intelligentPutty · 18/09/2017 16:02

Thanks for the codes. All worked and now waiting for my delivery.... ;)

Happydays21 · 18/09/2017 16:27

Well, I have the Marina skirt in black which is lovely but I'm not sure how / when I will wear it. I think the life iI actually live is very different from the one I aspire to and I keep buying clothes that suit the life I aspire to! I could really do with jeans and jumpers rather than swishy skirts but I do love it!

I am keeping the Alessia shirt though (unlike most others). To compensate I am returning my Whistles wren top!

Nearlyadoctor · 19/09/2017 16:45

Wide jersey tops arrived today having been on preorder. I really love the shape and xs is perfect, very slouchy but nicely fitted arms. Definitely prefer the black to the grey which is unusual for me but the grey is very pale. Can't decide whether to send the grey back or do I need both?

ilovecherries · 19/09/2017 16:55

I'm waiting for my wide jersey top to arrive, it's on its way. I got the jersey tube skirt from pure collection today, and for me it's working better than the hush ruched skirt, but it looks great with the Vickie jumpers.

Laska5772 · 19/09/2017 17:52

My wide jersey top in black arrive today..and is going back.. its nice , but just not £45 nice..

miffy2 · 21/09/2017 21:12

Does anyone else have the wide jersey top in both grey and black? I bought the grey at the time of the initial release so it was the first 'batch' so to speak. My black arrived today and my first instinct is it feels a lot thinner, more like t-shirt material. I will take it upstairs later to compare the two, the grey is not quite a sweatshirt material but certainly more substantial than a T - almost has sweatshirt lining but that may be due to the marl colour/fabric?

Nearlyadoctor · 21/09/2017 21:33

Miffy I'm still deciding whether to send one back, both arrived this week. The black is the same fabric as the Ivy dress, quite substantial and imo has a nicer feel. I don't think the grey is any thicker just a more matte fabric.
I've worn the black twice already, the grey is in the box whilst I make my mind up!

ilovecherries · 21/09/2017 22:48

My grey jersey top arrived today. I think I like it - I really like the juxtaposition of the tight sleeves and the loose top (what an arsey pretentious comment!). Although it's true. I do feel it's a bit overpriced, it's just the wrong side of £40 for what it is. It's def a bit lighter weight than I expected, and just hoping it doesn't twist at the seams when washed. But on balance, will probably take a punt on it.

Also got the yellow dolman top, which I wanted really badly to suit me, but it's going straight back. Made me look like my liver was packing in, it reflected so much yellow onto my face.

neveradullmoment99 · 21/09/2017 23:19

It actually washes up great :) I have the grey. I really like it. Its one of those tops that you just grab and wear. It is overpriced though.

tentative3 · 22/09/2017 08:54

This is a hugely long shot but if anyone has the Felix dress in green from last year in M and wants to sell it, please PM me!

miffy2 · 22/09/2017 09:46

Yes I have washed and reworn my grey wide top (why didn't it get a fancy name like all the other Hush items?) and have decided to keep the black too (fabric just feels softer for some reason!). The grey washed perfectly. They are ideal (for me anyway) for casual wear over leggings, jeans etc.

Laska5772 · 22/09/2017 10:37

Yep agree with all ofabove. But I was going to return my black wide jersey top but some how it ended up on my back today.. ! I do like it but thought it was expensive

miffy2 · 22/09/2017 13:30

It's definitely on the expensive side. I'd say around £30 would be more fitting!
I've a feeling that on a cost per wear basis it will work out cheap for me though :)

miffy2 · 22/09/2017 17:17

Another update. My final order arrived. Two yellow Vickie jumpers and green Ivy dress in small.

Result: both sizes of Ivy going back. Just a bit meh on me. I love the burgundy so maybe it's a colour thing (should have got the small though).
Both jumpers going back too. Absolutely beautiful colour and texture. Just a bit too boxy and short on. It wasn't £65-gorgeous on me :)

Appuskidu · 22/09/2017 19:48

Can anyone who has the Ivy dress in a small please please please measure it for me (from underarm to hem and from underarm to underarm )??

miffy2 · 22/09/2017 19:51

I did a quick measure before packing it up. It is 26 inches across at the underarm and 26 inches from there to the hem. Hope this helps.

Appuskidu · 22/09/2017 20:15

Thank you so much! Can I ask what you thought was meh about it?

miffy2 · 22/09/2017 20:32

It just looked a bit flat. Not long enough on me to work as a dress really and I have the Felix tunic in green from last year.
I have the medium in burgundy and have worn it a few times with opaques. It's nice on and I think it's a better colour on me. Possibly a bit baggy given that my large boobs make it stick out a bit but also forgiving if I eat a big meal ;)
I think I would prefer it a little less square and more a line. But it's worth trying and seeing if it suits you (autumn17 gives free uk delivery and returns)

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2017 09:23

Well took the plunge and ordered the love jumper in both pink and grey. Not sure either of these are me tbh. Not sure of the slogan but I was browsing the Hush blog - never a good thing to do and loved how it looked over the hush ruched skirt so i caved. Ordered both the pink as I thought it might be more subtle with the slogan but I really like the grey one. Also ordered the burgundy tights to go with my lovely clover dress which i had on the other day and felt great in. It is just beautiful and so much nicer in RL. Its a beautiful weight. Slightly neat on the bust and shoulders but I am in the process of losing weight [ a slow process but getting there] Had gone up to a 14 over the summer but now a 12 again :) Would love to get down to a 10. That is my target.

BeastofCraggyIsland · 23/09/2017 15:42

My order arrived and the verdict is pretty good. The Oslo skirt is nice but I don't love it, it doesn't sit amazingly well so it's going back. The Tara dress I love, the xs is quite tight in the skirt but the top bit sits perfectly, any bigger and it would be too baggy. Definitely a keeper. The star of the show is the ruched skirt though, bloody hell it looks amazing on and goes with everything, I love it! The xs fits perfectly. I'm off to order it in the other colour and possibly the green sloppy joe as well...

Theycalledmethewildrose · 23/09/2017 17:23

I'm still waiting for my black jersey top. I know what people are saying about it being overpriced but I think if you buy something and wear it straight away, that is a sign of how useful it will be and a very good indicator of how much of a wardrobe staple it will be.

I hbought a black wool jumper last year (Alexa maybe?) and it was very overpriced but I wore it a lot.

I bought the marina in black last year and must have bought and returned it three times before keeping it. I just couldn't make up my mind. I've only worn it once since buying it.

For the poster looking for the Felix dress in green, I have it in a small if any good? Worn once for a few hours. Never washed.

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2017 17:41

My order was meant to arrive today but never made it. Its saying that its on its way to the local delivery office so now looks like i will have to wait until Monday or Tuesday ggggrrr!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 23/09/2017 17:44

Will have to wait until Tuesday now as its a holiday on Moinday here. How annoying! Noone will be in so looks like it will be Thursday before I can collect it!
