Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I got my Sloppy Joe in custard and brick and am in love with them. Definitely keeping. The both look great with the Ashley trousers and with the boyfriend jeans. Tara in black also arrived, another keeper.

Nearlyadoctor · 13/09/2017 13:55

Wearing my Ivy dress again today - but it's a bit chilly here! Has anyone who has bought the Sabrina cardigan tried it over the Ivy dress. The sleeves I assume would be fine as both 3/4, just wondering if the cardigan was longer than the dress ( it looks like it should be) and if they work well together?

Nearlyadoctor · 13/09/2017 13:58

Last comment may be irrelevant as totally oops in the charcoal at the moment!

miffy2 · 13/09/2017 18:54

I don't know what to do...I am wearing my Ivy in burgundy, which I got in a size M (I am 12-14, 32G boobs) and it fits well but it is a liiiiitle baggy. I also have it in green but am thinking maybe I should size down and have it a bit neater? Unfortunately I have already sent back my invoice with other items and I also know they don't do exchanges so I would have to pay full price.

Anyone happier with the smaller fit?

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2017 19:15

It is quite generous. I am a 12 and have the small. I am losing weight and it is baggy on me but it looks ok atm. Could you order the small and see how it fits. You could also email them and explain about the invoice. You could sell your worn one on ebay?

ilovecherries · 13/09/2017 19:21

Miffy, I just sent back a printed copy of the dispatch invoice they email, and wrote on it what I wanted, and they went ahead and did the refund. (Like you, had already used the one in the package to send stuff back, but I did have a spare return label - just change the order number they hand write on the label). I'm wearing a M in the Ivy at a 14-16 with K cup boobs, do I can imagine it will be big on you.

MumBod · 13/09/2017 19:35

The Ivy dress is VERY short on me. Like, arse-revealingly short. I'm 5ft 7, so not that tall.

I dunno. I'm not really a leggings person. Though I do love the shape.

Nearlyadoctor · 13/09/2017 20:01

Mumbod I'm 5'4 and it's the same length on me as on the model. She must have very short legs!!! But then also a very short body based on the Big Love jumper as she is wearing an xs and I went for a medium for the same look( having originally ordered xs and s) Hmm

MumBod · 13/09/2017 20:09

I have a long back and short legs.

Maybe I should have bought large...

neveradullmoment99 · 13/09/2017 20:10

I wear mine with skinny jeans tbh. I am 5ft 5 and would probably also wear it with thick tights and flat boots or leggings but not sure i would to work. I tend to wear it to work with black skinny jeans. It looks good.

Laska5772 · 13/09/2017 20:24

miffy I am 12/14 36/38E and I have the Ivy in small. its loose but just right .. length is about 5 in above knee on me.. 5'5

I am keeping the Anais bag! Paid it off my card straight away Grin

MumBod · 13/09/2017 20:41

I was wondering about skinnies. I need to have a good trying-on sesh.

HTKB · 13/09/2017 20:50

I'm FURIOUS with you bastards on this thread. I've bloody ordered £325 worth of stuff, of course it's all going straight back.... except I have BLOODY WELL KEPT MOST OF IT. It's lovely. All thanks to this thread which keeps cropping up in active.

Got the navy harems, charcoal Stella jumper, fine knit jumper.

miffy2 · 14/09/2017 08:23

LOL HTKB I feel your pain, every time I come to this thread I seem to fill my Hush basket (I am even looking at the Anais bag and I do not need a bag!!)

Thanks for the feedback on the Ivy girls. I will keep the burgundy in Medium, might order the small in Ivy and email Hush in the meantime for a heads-up as the Medium would not get back to them within the 21 day period.

I am 5' 6" and the medium is a good length on me but I wouldn't mind having to wear the green with leggings or skinnies as it would make it look a bit different on me too.

Laska5772 · 14/09/2017 10:24

miffy I didnt need the Anais bag either ..It was this thread wot did it! it is gorgeous though

I SWORE that id not even look at Hush new season and that i wouldnt come back to this thread ,but -sigh- I totally caved and now look...Blush

LeggyMeggy · 14/09/2017 10:28

I agree that this thread is BAD! I was supposed to stick with just the onyx leather jacket this month. Whoops...

If this thread has encouraged more of you to the dark side (!) I have a link for £10 off for new customers - pm me if you'd like it!

MumBod · 14/09/2017 11:06

Oh shit I'm keeping everything.

It's all gorgeous.

I have to officially leave this thread before I starve to death and it all becomes too big for me.

Nearlyadoctor · 14/09/2017 11:24

What's arrived today Mumbod?

JessiCake · 14/09/2017 11:50

New to this thread and to Hush in generla but I'm wondering about Hush boots and the Ivy dress...

I'm a size 10 on the bottom but with big shoulders (flat chest tho) - sounds like the Ivy comes up baggy (which tbf is part of the attraction, I LOVE a slouchy dress with pockets) so perhaps the small is the best one to order and try out? Or would Medium be better with big shoulders?

And I'm SORELY tempted by some of the boots, I'm really struggling to find boots I like anywhere else (dire selection in my usual haunts this year so far) and my eye has been caught by the low-heel biker-type ankle boot. (Hereford)

They're none too cheap though (£175) and I don't know how Hush are for quality in the footwear dept... anyone bought boots/shoes from them before?

Talisin · 14/09/2017 12:06

Jessi you would need the small or even xs in the Ivy. I'm a 12 with boobs and broad shoulders and have the small - a medium would hang off you.

I have the Thornton boots they're fantastic (and quite wide fitting) and so comfortable. I have only had them for a few weeks so can't swear to their long term durability but looking good so far. I seem to remember reading that the Thorntons were actually made by Ash and rebranded for Hush so it may be that they use various companies for their footwear however.

grannycake · 14/09/2017 13:13

I have the Thornton boots in grey and can agree they're wide fitting (also only £90 at the moment)

needastrongone · 14/09/2017 15:48

I keep meaning to post!! I'm trying to be good and not read, as I will spend Grin

However, I did keep the following from my last delivery. And they are brilliant. Go with everything. Fab quality, especially for what you get with the price reduction too. Quite large fitting I would say overall. I kept the plimsols too but they've only a size 3 left.

www.hush-uk.com/sale_1/sale_2/sale_footwear/cali_skaters_cali_multi.htm

I see the grey Thorntons are reduced at £90 I see in certain sizes.

I didn't keep the the Savannah lace top, in either black or white. It's lovely. Great quality. Thick too. Just drowns me, I got an XS/6 as I'm very petite, but it still swamped a small frame. It would be very flattering though I think if you were more curvy.

user1469940239 · 14/09/2017 19:05

Can anyone give me some advice on the Onyx jacket please. I'm 5ft 9 with long arms and love the look of this jacket. It's going to look ridiculously short, isn't it? If any long armed ladies have come across any other brands that might suit, I'd be hugely grateful. I've tried on loads and am tired of pushing up the sleeves to camouflage my gibbon like limbs!

LeggyMeggy · 14/09/2017 19:27

I don't have long arms (am 5'3"!) but they've added another 3cm to the sleeve length so they're not as short as they were. I'd say they're now normal - the sleeves come down past my wrists on me. Try it while they've got free returns. Hope that helps!

miffy2 · 14/09/2017 19:54

I contacted Hush and told them my problem with the Ivy and wanting to try a smaller size. They said no problem at all, to order in a small, and they gave me a free returns label in case I needed it. If I decide to keep the small, I can return the Medium with the free returns label and a printed copy of my order confirmation. Even though it will be over 3 weeks at that stage, they said it is fine as it is still early in the season. Score. Good CS.
