Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

Mum, I'm a 14-16 and a medium is more than big enough in Ivy.

Nearlyadoctor · 10/09/2017 16:02

Placed an order for the Cassie dress in grey, hoping it'll be smart enough with opaques for work.

Laska5772 · 10/09/2017 16:21

Im a 14 (tending towards 12 ) I got the small in Ivy and its plenty big enough on me! . I suppose Frame size also counts . I am 5'5 top heavy/ 12 ont he bottomand quite long in the body compared to legs (I soundgreat don't I?) Grin

Ok I caved and ordered the Anais bag.... its a miserable weather day , my 'D'Parents have pssed me off, and ive decided to have a wine-free month.. So I made it feel all better by spending more money on myself! (my excuse and im sticking to it ) .
.

.I did go through Quidco though so got 5% off and somehow I seem to be on Hush 'friends' so you get free premium delivery

Nearlyadoctor · 10/09/2017 17:08

Also intrigued mumbod as we've bought a lot of the same items recently.

Laska sometimes it's got to be done Grin

captainfunderpants · 10/09/2017 17:35

Went to collect my custard Sloppy Joe from my local Waitrose and despite getting an email confirmation that it was ready to collect, they couldn't find it! The helpful customer services person rang JL to try and locate it / order another one, but they are out of stock in the Small....I did however get a full refund and a £20 JL gift card...so not all bad!

Tried on the Tyler jumpsuit again and still really disappointed. It looks terrible on me!!! There's just too much fabric around the waist / hips / bum and I don't think a smaller size would help, it's just that the design of the pockets and the drawstring waist band make me look enormous and shapeless.

Anyone else bought it and loved it?

MumBod · 10/09/2017 18:28

Ok - now bearing in mind these are mostly going back...

Ivy dresses in green and claret (or whatever the red one is called).

Winona trousers in black.

Scarlett crew jumpers in grey marl and black.

Alessia shirt.

Blush t-shirt.

Marina skirt in black.

Fifi bag in black.

Disclaimer - I had a massive wardrobe sort-out a few weeks back so this is me attempting to build up some form of capsule wardrobe. I haven't bought anything but boots from anywhere else this season (apart from a tartan shirt dress from Zara).

And it will mostly be going back.

Mumbod please feedback on the Scarlett jumpers, I was looking at them earlier today thinking how useful they could be, but would need to wash well! ( which obviously you can't feedback on - well not for a day or two Grin

Dailystuck71 · 10/09/2017 20:16

If I am a 12/14 would I be a medium?

MumBod · 10/09/2017 21:08

Will do.

I try not to wash woollens too often - I usually wear them with a layer underneath so they're not touching my skin. I find they last longer that way.

Pastacube · 10/09/2017 21:29

I buy large and am a size 14/16

i tried on the tara dress in john lewis in a M and it got stuck on me. Grin

MumBod · 11/09/2017 20:12

The Fifi bag is perfect. It arrived this morning, just in time for me to take it to a funeral. My mum fell in love with it, so I've bought her one for Christmas!

The skirt arrived too. I really like it, but the jury's out because I'm struggling to style it.

Laska5772 · 11/09/2017 20:34

mumbod I have the black and white Marina skirt from last season..I wear it most with with the raglan T which I have in both cerise and daffodil (last season) and the cannes top in black from this season..

My bag should arrive tomorrow!! Smile

Laska5772 · 12/09/2017 09:01

And having said that i am wearing that exact combo today now.. but with leggings under (if thats allowed Grin). Wore claret Ivy to work yesterday.. got loads of compliments.. .
How are we all wearing our new purchases?

ilovecherries · 12/09/2017 09:28

I'm waiting for Scarlett in grey and Vickie in yellow to arrive, plus the black trousers with the black grosgrain ribbon down the sides. In fact, I'm making the dog cross her legs in the hope I don't miss the parcel.

Nearlyadoctor · 12/09/2017 09:30

I wore mine yesterday to work as well Laska, I was a little bit worried as although I went for xs I still have a lot of spare material ( and I'm not tiny average 8-10) but also got lots of compliments so must have been ok. Wore it with leggings and ballet flats- tempted by the green now!!

ilovecherries · 12/09/2017 10:03

Does the underneath layer on the Marina skirt stay down? I'm still a bit traumatised by the memory of going to a wedding in a lace dress with an underlay to realise too late that I had wandered all round the reception with my backside on show because the underlay had rucked up to my waist as I walked.

ilovecherries · 12/09/2017 10:29

Well, that didn't go so well...Vickie jumper has a black oily streak across the back, and the grosgrain trousers have a twisted R leg.

MoonGeek · 12/09/2017 10:31

I'm new to this thread and only have hush pyjamas but do you mind if I join?

Has anyone tried the blossom dress? With the star pattern. I couldn't see any comments on it.

Also the price of the bobble hats! And hardly any wool. Crazy.

Laska5772 · 12/09/2017 11:01

cherries thats really bad. I have never had any faults on Hush things before.. Re Marina skirt. No i havent found so (i also have burgundy one from last year) have worn with tights/leggings and bare legs previously.
Nearly I dont want to enable but I have all 3 Ivy dresses!!Blush. They are just so me!!

MumBod · 12/09/2017 13:57

Do most people wear the Marina skirt as casual daytime wear, then?

It seems a little flouncier than my usual style. But I guess it could dress down quite easily.

If I was to wear it with tights, would opaques work? I wondered if they'd look a bit heavy next to a floaty skirt.

Laska5772 · 12/09/2017 14:18

mumbod I do!! (But then I dont go out much , and when I do its more often than not a casual affair) i did wear my black and white marina skirt to a funeral recently .. Opaques ? I have !

MumBod · 12/09/2017 14:32

Me too, Laska - my notion of 'dressed up' is usually jeans and biker boots.

I might have to have a little play later, and just see if I can make it work.

On another note, I've ordered absolutely shitloads this season, and I haven't had any free chocolate! Is it because I'm ordering size 14s?

Grin
Nearlyadoctor · 12/09/2017 15:15

I was only thinking the same thing mumbod - where's our chocolate??
Thanks to Laska I have now ordered the Ivy in green. Resisting order the big love in another colour as I love ( pardon the pun) the first one so much.
I have ordered so much this season but in fairness haven't. Ought anything except boots elsewhere. Still waiting for my wide jersey tops and some feedback on the Scarlett jumper before I order.

ilovecherries · 12/09/2017 17:21

My Scarlett jumper arrived at his morning in grey. Pulled it on over a white shirt to try it. Not sure shirt will ever recover - it is covered in grey fluff. So I'm undecided - the other two items are going back because they are soiled/faulty. I do like the Scarlett - really nice shape but if it's going to she'd like this it will drive me mad.

Laska5772 · 12/09/2017 17:40

Anais bag arrived and it is gorgeous! but it is expensive.. wondering if I can really justify it? (Maybe i just feel a bit guilty.)

Its hanging on my door in my study , ill leave it there for a while, and try not to stroke it too much
