Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I've got 2 Azalea dresses, similar to the Blossom. I'm 5ft and size 6. I think the oversizing actually works well on a slight figure. I've worn both on mine a lot, very easy to dress up or down.

captainfunderpants · 01/09/2017 09:17

I need to stop! Just ordered the lightening bolt jumper (grey / yellow), ruched skirt in Burgundy, and the ruffle skirt. Plus the jersey jumpsuit. Not expecting to keep it all - at least it's free returns!!

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2017 10:18

I just received the blossom dress. Its more or less the same as the other hush dresses of this style. Not sure if its a keeper for me tbh. I am not really sold on the blue that it comes in. Its always a bit awkward with shoes for me. I also just received the bell sleeve dress. Its lovely but the edges are all raw and its a bit shorter than i expected. Not sure whether to keep or not. Its more for a night out and i wanted day dresses.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2017 10:36

Oh the dress is true to size. I am a 12 and ordered a 12 and its fine. It gapes a little at the bust but it isnt tight. Its just the spaces between the buttons. The length is fine on an average person. I am 5ft 5 and its just above the knee.

neveradullmoment99 · 01/09/2017 10:37

^ That was for the blossom dress.

Fabellini · 01/09/2017 11:04

I've bought quite a lot this month - but I've used the discount code and taken advantage of the free express delivery.
Just wanted to discuss Tyler jumpsuit - I really like it, but felt it was a bit of a pain just pulling in with the drawstring waist - unless I tied it in a double knot it was sliding open and looking a bit shapeless. And when it was tied in a double knot I got a bit panicky in the ladies trying to get it undone!
So I took it to local alterations place and they put elastic in at the waist. The drawstring is still there and functional, but it sits so much better, basically, now it's perfect Smile

My parcel has arrived this morning! The Amie joggers in navy are a keeper, bought those in M and they have come up slightly smaller than my others in the same size. Still look fab though. The star sweat is a fail unfortunately, not loose enough (I bought an XL as large of bust), too short and the padded shoulders make my already broad shoulders look even more so! I love the colour and design though, so disappointed. The navy "love" jumper is SUPERB. Beautiful colour, soft and looks lovely on. It will also go well with lots of other things aside from the Amie's Smile. Really pleased!

I finally caved and ordered myself a green tara and the yasmin dress Grin. I tried on the yasmin in JL already and it was quite nice on my straight up and down figure. I'm not sure about the price though as it's quite a bit more than I would usually spend on a dress. I will have to see what it's like when I get it home.

Nearlyadoctor · 01/09/2017 18:06

Tara in charcoal arrived, I have 4 already but the fit was so much smaller. Normally xs in Hush but always order small in the Tara so the skirt isn't skin tight. Got it on with a struggle but thought DD(10) was going to wet herself watching me get it off!!
Alessia shirt very pretty but not worth the money, loose threads, very delicate- more Primarks quality.
So a bit of a disappointment really!

tentative3 · 01/09/2017 18:50

My order came today, with free chocolate. I'm keeping the Felix dress, which I already have in navy but as much as I wanted to love the Ivy dress neither size is right on me. I look like a tank in it. It looks OK from the side but from the front I just look solid and like the prow of a ship. I also am a bit disappointed in the colour - had hoped it would be a crisper green than it is. So disappointed, I desperately desperately wanted to love it!

captainfunderpants · 01/09/2017 19:11

Nearlyadoctor I agree about Alessia shirt. I bought it in John Lewis a few days ago, but think I'm going to return it. As you said, loose threads, and very thin and flimsy. It's pretty but overpriced. Another thing I noticed in JL was how crumpled and creased a lot of the Hush stuff is. I've only bought online before and assumed it was just one of those things if you're buying clothes over the internet, but honestly a lot of it looked like someone had slept in it! There were things I didn't try on - like the navy / gold maxi shirt dress - because they all looked so crumpled and creased.

Pippin8 · 01/09/2017 21:01

I ordered the wide fit jersey top, the Christie coat, the ivy dress, the Cassie dress & the love jumper.

The love jumper is going back as it feels too heavy & a bit itchy. The wide fit top is on back order & im collecting the rest from JL tomorrow, so will report back.

Sad to hear the feedback about the Alessia shirt as I have one on the way and was hoping it would work with my wide leg trousers (last year's Winona equivalent). Will wait in hope.

I wore the wide fit jersey top in grey today, it is perfect. Wore it over last year's Holly jeans in dark grey and a grey scarf and felt quite put together :)

missfliss · 02/09/2017 07:35

Anyone got experience of returning to John Lewis for faulty Hush clothes?
Despite being washed in asses milk etc my summer Stella jumper ( only a few months old) has holes...grrrrAngry

Hush new collection.
SesameSparkle · 02/09/2017 07:46

I shouldn't think it would be a problem returning to JL. I have returned all sorts, including one of their own cashmere cardis for developing holes.

missfliss · 02/09/2017 07:51

Thanks sesame I'll write an email later

neveradullmoment99 · 02/09/2017 13:05

I returned my stella jumper for exactly the same reason. I had a hole after one wash!!!! It was on the sleeve though. I asked for a refund and they gave me an exchange that i ended up keeping. It is so thin. Actually it is too thin it is not surprising it gets a hole. I would think you should have no problem returning it. I would email them. They will probably require you to take it in or to take a picture of it and they will take it from there.

onemorerose · 02/09/2017 13:51

I've been eyeing up the leather onyx jacket, does anyone have it?

CountFosco · 02/09/2017 19:22

Got my parcel. I'm a size 10 and ordered the small size. Both things I ordered are going back.

The Tyler Jumpsuit is OK, nice jersey and true to size. But there's too much length between waist and crotch for a shortarse like me (5'2"). And I'd rather it had a v-neck, it makes me feel a bit convict like. And I'm not sure when I'd wear it, it feels too casual for my work (where I regularly wear trainers and jeans) or for nights out. But the real killer was the zip which I couldn't undo by myself (and I'm super flexible in the shoulders). No way am I wearing something that doesn't allow me to per.

Morgan Camo joggers were gorgeous and cozy but too big. Might order the XS to see if they are better but again suspect it's a height issue, there's too much material bunching round my waist so they looked shit shirt with a t-shirt (OK with a jumper or sweatshirt that hide my waist).

CountFosco · 02/09/2017 19:23

Pee bloody autocorrect.

Pippin8 · 03/09/2017 13:15

I am so disappointed. The Christie coat is the perfect colour & material, but swamped me all over. Even if I size down it will look ridiculous. The same goes for the Cassie & ivy dresses. I think the Cassie may be a keeper if i size down & I did quite like how drapey the ivy looked. But DS saw me in it & said I looked like a dinner lady & needed to size down x 2. So that's put me right off.
Back to searching for the perfect navy coat. Sigh.

onemorerose I've just bought the onyx jacket after saving for those last year - couldn't find anything else I liked as much for the same price. Bit upset as they've changed the supplier and made the sleeves 3cm longer apparently so not great news for a short arse like me. Got the 10 and keep trying it on to see if I should have got the 8 but I think the 8 would be a challenge over a jumper.

Plus side, I LOVE the style and the leather is like butter. Absolutely gorgeous. Just wish they'd left the sleeves alone.

Whitney168 · 03/09/2017 19:36

So, have tried the Althea dress on - like it - but am pondering footwear. They have it with boots on the website, but for my hobby Wink, I could do with flat shoes that I can run in and won't be too noisy. Is that even possible?

onemorerose · 04/09/2017 07:54

Thanks leggy meggy
I'm a short arse too so would have loved the shorter sleeves. I may have to lust after it a while longer before I can justify the price tag.

LeggyMeggy · 04/09/2017 08:33

Just to say, I've tried it on again with a million different things and I'm keeping it. The sleeves are normal for this type of jacket, not hideously long, and I need to just get over the fact that they were shorter on a previous version. If I hadn't known that, I wouldn't have batted an eyelid. The fit is actually great. Any snugger and it would have been too tight in winter. Think DH is relieved I made a decision and put the box out for recycling 😂
