Thoughts?

I know a lot of people think hush is overpriced tat, but this thread is for those of us that still buy the odd thing.

I've had a brief look & like the look of the Christie coat & Cassie dress. Last year I got a dress in the same style of this years clover dress, which I love.

However, the prints this year are awful.

I love the look of Hush clothes but am only 5'3" so usually buy brands that have a petite range (Boden, Next etc). Very tempted by the Tara dress but would it be too long in me do you think?

tentative3 · 26/08/2017 19:50

Thanks for the feedback on sizing Laksa and cherries. Might order both as you suggested Laksa.

Cherries it's a tricky one. I used to be bigger than I currently am although I am currently very 'soft' - squidgy I guess. Anyway, I do understand the comfort in something shaped like the Ivy and think there's plenty to be said for something you feel comfortable and safe in, vs an entire new wardrobe of differently shaped clothes. If you like it, I'd be tempted to keep it, particularly as it will see you through more weight loss, as you said, but your friends obviously know you and your new shape better than I do.

miffy2 · 26/08/2017 20:51

tentative I am a 12 too (sometimes 14) and also a 32GG. I like the Ivy in Medium as I don't want it tight around the chest. Also a bit of a swing to it, with skinny leather-look leggings or opaque tights will look good I think.

phoebemac · 28/08/2017 00:10

Chickoletta I am same height bought the Tara dress and found the length fine, but the top swamped me even in a smaller size. I am short in the body and long in the leg though.

phoebemac · 28/08/2017 00:14

I also thought the Tara was a bit drab really, but that might just be on me! V disappointed.

I took delivery of the (embroidered) love jumper. Love the natural mix of cotton and wool and medium is perfect for size 12. I will be hanging on to my receipt however in case the embroidered love logo doesn't stand up to normal wearing and gentle washing (another inside out, asses' milk hand washed by virgins garment to add to the collection Grin). The embroidery is not quite as taut as I imagined it should be tbh, so I will approach with caution and Hush will be hearing about any snagging.

The jewellery I ordered (a few star pieces) is lovely. The chain is decent on the necklace (unlike the thin chains that have kinked and discoloured on other brands of jewellery I've owned, eg, MV). The earrings are perfect.

Overall very happy, but now have to bow out as my credit card is crying from the strain (as will I when the bill comes)!

Great thread, love reading up on what everyone thinks.

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 20:27

The Winona Trousers arrived today.. also nice, (thats rather a lot I have bought )

Hush must think so also because they tucked in two bars of their chocolate in the parcel..

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 20:33

I got chocolate today as well. Clearly a sign I have become a (far too!) valuable customer this month.

miffy2 · 29/08/2017 20:39

I think they were giving away chocolate in orders one day recently (one of the few days that I didn't place an order lol).

I received my third parcel; the Erica top is lovely in the bigger size (longer length on me), the yellow sloppy joe is divine and the lace vest is nice enough, although I have already ordered the larger size to compare length again).

Caprianna · 29/08/2017 20:41

Is the Ivy dress really flattering or boxy? I find some Hush dresses just make me look like I am bigger than I am and have got this weird stiffness to it.

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 21:13

caprianna the Ivy dress isnt at all stiff. I found its flattering on me (well I think it is!) , but yes it is a very loose fit,, .. I am fairly large of nork, 5'5 and sz 12/14 ) I sized down , but others havent .. Youve still got a couple of days of the preview code.. and free returns to try it out

Caprianna · 29/08/2017 21:52

Thanks Laska and with the code Inhave nothing to lose.

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 21:53

I got the Winona trousers today as well - very comfortable and flattering. I'm slightly fretting about their washability because if they shrink at all they will be too short. And they are cold hand wash. Haven't decided about keeping them or not, although I do like them very much otherwise.

The Ivy dress is more a tunic than a dress, I would say, it's extremely short on me, but that may be because I've sized down a lot. But it's not stiff, it's very soft.

I also bought the Helen jumper in both candy pink and jewel red, intending to send one back, but I may keep both, they are so perfect for working from home in the winter, and both colours really suit me. I'm sending the tee shirts back though, they feel very over priced when I see them.

Caprianna · 29/08/2017 22:03

Tunic? Oh no. How tall are you Cherries?

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 22:06

5 foot 7. I'm a size 14/16 and have it in medium. I also bought it in large, and it WAS longer, but it felt very big.

Caprianna · 29/08/2017 22:10

I am the same height so that will be too short for me then sob

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 22:13

i lovecherries I ordered the Winona in both the 12 and 14..and really cant decide which to keep.. both fit ( although 14 is obvs looser,) but the 12 doesnt seem to have such wide legs (which it does seem to on model) .. . What do you think? Are the legs on yours very loose fitting? .Did you get blue or black?

.I didnt notice the washing instructions,.. I would have ( and probably will ) put them in a short 30 deg wash

capriana Id say the Ivy in S was about 3in above knee on me at 5'5.. the M may be longer I didnt try it as the length is fine I think with opaques loafers or boots

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 22:18

Laska, I got them in navy, in a 14 and 16. Exactly same dilemma as you. Both fit, 16 is def looser and feels a bit wider (but not longer) in the leg. I shall probably keep the 14 as I'm still losing weight, it's just the length I'm slightly concerned about. There is absolutely no wiggle room for shrinkage.

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 22:21

Cherries they are a bit long on me!! (I went for black,,)

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 22:24

ill probably keep the 12 I think as I am a bit larger than I want to be right now..(and have a December 'big birthday' goal to get back to what I was and back into a particular dress)

ilovecherries · 29/08/2017 22:25

Caprianna, just got DD to measure the Ivy on me. It's 6 inches above the top of my knee. That's just more leg than I'm comfortable with.

TheFormidableMrsC · 29/08/2017 22:30

I am after the Amie joggers in navy. I love the black and khaki ones I have already. I also want the Love jumper in navy but am slightly put off by the jumper comments, I haven't bought one yet. This is a wool mix though, so may be OK? It's that or the grey sweat with the navy star. I have been underwhelmed by the rest of it and find the sizing odd, some things are massive, some are way too small, despite being the same size. Hush is generally too expensive for me but birthday vouchers and money at this time of the year means I can have a little splurge Smile

Laska5772 · 29/08/2017 22:37

Formidable dont forget to use the Preview code upthread its still valid until 31st August (and go through quidco)

TheFormidableMrsC · 29/08/2017 23:58

Laska, I've done it and used the code...but not Quidco...goddamn it, I always forget to use these things Sad

MumBod · 30/08/2017 06:26

I wore my midi dress to dinner with heels last night - felt great.

Then changed into flats and put a denim jacket on top - worked just as well.

So I'm happy Smile
