But stripey I think having the advent calendar means that when you do buy you will be making a more informed choice Kwick wildly tries to justify her addiction to beauty advent calendars
I identified loads of products which I had been hankering after that did not suit me from last year's calendar - think of all the money I could have spent on full size products!

Right - used up a body wash (boring) and declaring a mascara dead, so need to buy a new one for my work make up kit. About one more squeeze from a Sanctuary face micro polish thing which did that face-warming thing which I liked. About one more squeeze from a garner hand cream - fine for the money, quite quickly absorbed.

curragh · 12/09/2017 18:40

Despite my best efforts not to get drawn in I so want an M&S calendar now

I have one empty,
44. Espa travel size conditioner

Making nice steady progress through my list

FrustratedFrugal · 12/09/2017 19:10

I counted my empties - 60 this year!
My latest ones
[x] Alverde Body Butter, travel size
[x] Vidal Sassoon Pro Series Repair shampoo, 500ml

Super tired after two weeks of conferences and travel. But the upside is I've done daily yoga for over a month now, I even have a travel yoga mat. Because my brain is fried, I've enjoyed Cat Marnell's How to Murder Your Life. To me, she's the best beauty writer out there.

Tickets for BeautyCon London have gone on sale... just sayin

Oh my goodness.....I totally belong in this club! Hello ladies! Marking my place and will get back to you.....when I figure out where to start!!
On a positive note, went to Waitrose today and resisted buying anymore Korres shower gels......currently half price although I did buy 3 the other day Sad

ThierryEnnui · 12/09/2017 22:59

Also place marking to come back tomorrow and join in!

BlooBagoo · 12/09/2017 23:28

Definitely think I belong in here as well. Blush

Cupoteap · 13/09/2017 06:58

kwick · 13/09/2017 08:12

I have two empties from my 13 by Halloween - 7ml Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and full size (but I had already used some of it) Occitane cherry blossom shower gel.

I have another empty - Rodial dragon's blood moisturizing mist spray thing (part of an M&S beauty box a while back).

Still working through the rest of my stash and 13, well, 11 now. Not helped by a splurge in Waitrose half price sale when I bought two Aveeno body moisturisers, an Aveeno hand cream and two Korres shower gels. As if I don't have many, many smiliar products already. Hmmm.

Another aim is to use up my 250ml Lush Rose Jam shower gel (part of their Christmas range last year, and I love it) before they release the 2017 Christmas range!

ThierryEnnui · 13/09/2017 14:03

I’m back to join in! I used up one empty this morning which was Clarins Liquid Bronze (self-tanner for your face). I’ve used many bottles over the years and already have one in reserve...Blush It’s the most natural and buildable facial self-tanner I’ve ever tried and so I don’t really feel the need to look elsewhere IYKWIM.

So my 13 for Halloween are:
Zelens PHA Bio Peel Pads – got about 1/3 of the pot left, so around 20 pads, should be doable!
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish
Liz Earle Eyebright
Label M Oat & Honey Conditioner
Redken All Soft Shampoo
Frank Body Scrub – Coffee
Palmers Body Lotion – just dregs of this left but I want it gone!
This Works Pillow Spray
Zelens 3t Cream – 15ml sample
Eve Lom Cleanser sample – chunky sample though!
MoroccanOil Hair Treament Oil 40ml Sample
MoroccanOil Styling Cream
Cowshed Toner Sample

CantChoose · 13/09/2017 17:40

I finished a Lancôme travel size toner this morning. I've already refilled it with my current one, it's a useful size.

ememem84 · 13/09/2017 18:15

Clarins cleansing water finished - travel size 20ml. Annoyingly it wasn't one of my 13.

d270r0 · 13/09/2017 21:14

I got out my very old mostly used vaseline body lotion to use this morning and when I opened it all this watery stuff spurted out. So decided to chuck it. It was one of my 13 so am replacing it with a body shop monoi moisure balm instead. I don't really like the smell of this but will use it up and at least its still in a decent state!

IPokeBadgers · 13/09/2017 22:59

Ticked off another couple of the shampoo and conditioner samples that are currently cluttering up my shower rack....good to see the pile go down. They were tresemme onest. ...not sure if I would buy full size bottles.

ememem84 · 14/09/2017 07:57

Green tea moisturiser done! Woohoo.

Onto the next one!

curragh · 14/09/2017 08:25

Very productive morning shower 😁 with 3 empties
45. Espa travel size conditioner
46. Aveeno shampoo
47. LPM fleur d'orangier shower gel. LOVED this

8 left on my Halloween list, some of these will be more of a challenge

FrustratedFrugal · 14/09/2017 16:47

Here are my two cosmetics souvenirs from the Baltics: Makeup Revolution Ultra Sculpt & Contour Kit in 01 Ultra Fair and Catrice lipstick in My Little Peony. Both products are uh-mazing, they feel super high end and cost just 4€ a piece. I've been wearing both nonstop. The berry shade is fab for autumn and finally there is a great contouring kit for very pale girls. My Nars cheek palette is great too but MUR feels even nicer. And Catrice lipsticks are fabulous, creamy and longwearing.

And welcome new people!

This thread is great. We commiserate and enable 🙈

Anyone with a Korres shower gel product hoard truly belongs here.

captainfunderpants · 14/09/2017 17:59

I definitely need to join this thread! My name is Captainfunderpants and I am a beauty products hoarder. I probably have so much stuff that I could go for more than a year without purchasing another product and still have plenty left. At the moment, I'm trying to work through a hoard of products including:

  • Sarah Chapman serum (part of a massive Space NK Autumn giveaway a year ago)
  • Caudalie serum
  • Aurelia night cream
  • Aurelia day cream
  • Aurelia night oil (purchase of Aurelia was the reason for getting the Space NK giveaway)
  • Clarins lifting body cream
  • Mio body serum
  • Mio cellulite cream
  • Mio boob cream
  • Neal's yard mint and bergamot hand cream

I could go on, but I won't!

kwick · 14/09/2017 18:14

frugal may I just say your skin looks amazeballs!!!! Please share skincare routine immediately!!!

Welcome captain! You are in good company!!

My ASOS beauty calendar has been delivered to a click & collect point - I will pick up later how on earth will I resist until 1 December????

FrustratedFrugal · 14/09/2017 18:45

Kwick I would suggest starting your beauty advent calendar on Oct 1 Wink When you finish, you are allowed to start another, and continue all the way until Christmas, or until you get bored Wink

And thanks for the compliment! Blush I have super simple skincare routines (micellar + black soap + occasional AHA/BHA pads) - everyone here is probably doing something similar or better! But I do think that two makeup products are wonderful for mid-40-skin: Sensai Total Finish compact foundation and highlighter from the Makeup Revolution palette. Both have great skin-blurring and glow-enhancing properties. I learned about Sensai from a coworker whose fabulous skin I admired. On a bare face,, Missha First Treatment Essence is a great glow enhancer and confidence booster.

Via Bad Outfit, Great Lipstick, here's a spreadsheet tool for tracking how much lipstick you have left. I'm chickening out... I have about 40 lippies, wear them every day, and touch up twice per day. If an average lipstick has close to 300 applications, mine will last for about a decade! So I'll stay here for quite some time...

FrustratedFrugal · 14/09/2017 18:45

Captain welcome, great goals!

woodhill · 14/09/2017 20:04

I used a Champneys foot cream today - 4 products this week.

Still using stuff from last years' calendar
