It's definitely getting more difficult to choose among all the calendars out there. Although, I do feel that ones of the same brand, no matter how cool they are, are not for me, would get bored half way through. Would love Diptique or Jo Malone ones if somebody give them as present, but buying myself, I definitely prefer a selection of varied products instead of 15 mini candles or 10ml perfumes.
On first look thought JOhn Lewis one looked good, but it seems that all the products are fairly small, although the price at par with Liberty. So I am keeping my eye on Harrods this year, theirs is considerably more expensive than Liberties, but will it be way nicer as well?!

I am reusing last years Liberty calendar to make DIY calendar for DH. Last Christmas got him beer and pork scratchins calendars, he was very enthusiastic first few days, but got tired of beer every night at the end of the week. So he will get a mixture of things. Have managed to get free gifts from Molton Brown and Clinique and bought some nice small stuff from Nothonthehighstreet, still have half of boxes empty.

BulletFox · 03/09/2017 22:27

Strawberry, reallyree website has a full list of harrods contents.

I really want liberty & look fantastic calendars since I clicked on this thread Grin

Strawberryfield12 · 03/09/2017 22:31

Tree I have used most from last year apart from makeup since I use very little of it, and still lots of perfume left (but I like both fragrances). I think I will have to include all the posh blushes and bronzers in the will and pass them on to my DD Grin

WellTidy · 04/09/2017 09:38

Right ladies, I am back on the wagon with you! I slipped off after going a mid OTT in the new year sales, and haven't really stopped to be honest.

But I have new energy, and here are my 13 by Halloween:

  1. Elemis day cream 15 ml
  2. Sanctuary night cream 15 ml
  3. Estee Lauder daywear 15 ml
  4. REN rose facial exfoliator 30 ml
  5. Rituals foaming shower gel 250 ml (I think)
  6. Occitane cherry blossom shower gel 250ml (again, I think) - some already gone
  7. Rituals hand and body lotion 250 ml (about half left)
  8. Lush butterball bath bomb (easy win!)
  9. Loreal micellar water 400 ml (some already used)
10. Estee Lauder cleanser full size 11. Occitane Roses hand cream 30 ml 12. Occitane Orchid and neroli hand cream 30 ml 13. Estee lauder advanced night repair 7ml

Good luck everyone! Great to see so many familiar usernames and also some converts.

WellTidy · 04/09/2017 09:45

I have been waiting for the Rituals calendar to come out and here it is. I am going for the £59 one, not for myself (unfortunately!) but for two friends. last year I bought each of them the Occitane one and they absolutely loved it. But this year the Occitane one is pricey (I can't see any reference to whether Occitane is producing a cheaper one) and the Rituals one is obnly just within budget (£50ish or less).

kwick · 04/09/2017 11:14

I still have today and tomorrow for the 12 to shelve as my nephew does not go back until Wednesday Grin

Hello ladies, I've been awol again, a small set back in the Liz Earle department and I actually gave away quite a lot of bits and bobs from beauty boxes that I simply won't ever use! So my DSis & SIL will bw bronzed and beautiful as many of them were tanning products
I too am still using up my L'Occitane advent calendar from last year, all the hand creams are gone, I'm taking the shower gels and last shampoo with me when I go swimming.
My list isn't 13 but hopefully achievable by Halloween!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Jasmine & Osmanthus
Aveda Damage Repair Shampoo
Aveda Damage Repair Conditioner
Aveeno Body Lotion with almond oil
Never ending Soap & Glory shower cream
No 7 Lift & Luminate day cream (I prefer Perfect and Protect)
Liz Earle day cream

I bought my lovely neighbour a set of Liz Earle skincare products which also came with a shampoo and conditioner as she's been diligently looking after my cat for most of the summer on and off, cat is very old, needs tablets twice a day and is occasionally incontinent! So I kind of accidentally bought one for me as well, which triggered more free travel sizes. I may be doomed!

d270r0 · 04/09/2017 18:28

Welltidy, the Ldn diaries article has just been updated and I noticed that L'occitane are doing a cheaper one again this year as well as the deluxe one, looks very similar to last years and is £49.

kwick · 04/09/2017 19:50

Spent over 3.5k today 😳 all for my home improvements not on beauty products I hasten to add!!!

Thank you BulletFox! The last time I looked somewhere on blogs, they were saying the contents was still TBD, just mentioned few confirmed products.

WellTidy · 06/09/2017 10:03

Thank you d270r0. I agree, it does look very similar to last year's. I think I will go with the Rituals one for my friends, but am soooooooo tempted to treat myself with the cheaper Occitane one.

pasturesgreen · 06/09/2017 11:29

So, my 'September no spend on beauty products' resolution went out of the window earlier than I expected...Went into Selfridges yesterday to buy a hair mask for my mum and while I was there I also got an eyebrow pencil for me Blush

I quite honestly think I'm beyond help.

IPokeBadgers · 06/09/2017 14:40

Another couple of sample shampoo and conditioners gone.....who knew that keeping them in the bathroom meant they would actually get used! 😂

Strawberryfield12 · 06/09/2017 15:21

Ha ha Badgers, It definitely works! I have on my 13 list some things I don't like too much so would use here and there. Left my 13 in the bathroom all together and I have been using them regularly, even the fragrance I was using up on days I am at home.

kwick · 06/09/2017 17:49

Join the club pastures!

Haha badger funny that!!!

On my way home to finishing packing up bathroom and living room - which I am really NOT looking forward too... but maybe a new bathroom will positively impact my hoarding tendencies? Confused

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 07/09/2017 12:18

Wow kwick that's some tidy!
Ladies the chat of advent calendars will be death of me. I had rituals last year and didn't love it as much as I thought. Bath products amazing but facial ones left me cold. I'm leaning towards NYX (cos I really need more lipsticks!) or m&s although I still have last years packaging so I should just refill with samples! Might set children that task on wet day!
I've been sorting cupboards too and truly amazing how much I've got through. Some things I only have 1 spare (shower gel!?!). I mean I think I have some xmas body shop smells tucked away in xmas box but still.....

So my 13 for Halloween is;

  1. L'Oréal Travel size conditioner
  2. Korean Essence Berry tonic sachets
  3. Gold eyeshadow from Superdrug
  4. Eyebrow kit from Superdrug
  5. Charlotte tilbury liner ( from last list)
  6. Dr organic honey foot cream
  7. HA eye cream
  8. Cetaphil cleanser
  9. Body shop drops of youth sleeping mask
10. Temple spa peace be still body balm 11. Body shop gig body spray 12. Sheer blonde shampoo 13. Bourgois face powder. So nearly there and in last one too!

Some easy finishes in that lot but will keep me going! I love this thread!

Also finished a concealer, which is rare as I usually just move on! Some soap that maybe smelt once upon a time ago and a lovely coconut oil organic cleanser from a beauty box. Feeling good that all my not-in-use products are now in 1 box. And I even need to buy razors and cotton wool. Weird!
Still no word from Dr Darren kwick. Will message again! Maybe he's too ashamed!

bluebellation · 07/09/2017 12:43

Hi, I lurk on this thread to make me feel better about my own stash of products, so it's probably time to get involved! I actually came on to say can't choose I think I know which hotel you're in (what chain anyway) as the very same bathroom products started me on my Clarins obsession! I loved the stuff so much my DH bought me some body and bath stuff the next Christmas , and then I started wondering what the facial skincare was like. It was the start of a slippery slope! I now only use Clarins on my face and am experimenting with the make up. And the lovely Clarins lady in my local Boots is always giving me samples of stuff I haven't tried yet. So be warned Grin

CantChoose · 07/09/2017 18:17

Funny you say that another - I've never managed to be overly impressed with rituals. I've had a closer look at the ingredients and suspect they're pretty ordinary products, dressed up as something more fancy.

I used to use clarin's face stuff, blue but they kept discontinuing the ranges I used. I gave up in the end! I'm not a big fan of the body lotion but the shower gel and exfoliator have fallen into my toiletries bag already...

kwick · 07/09/2017 18:17

OMG cant what hotel gives Clarins amenities????

Another maybe Dr Darren is just trying to negotiate to get his amazeballs products back into Superdrug?

blue welcome to the thread!!!

So Soak.com screwed up my new bathroom delivery - so earliest I will have a new one will be Monday now 😩

CantChoose · 07/09/2017 21:02

It's the grand Melia - a big Spanish chain. They don't have them in all the hotels or all the rooms. But we lucked out :) we've stayed in the same room before but didn't have them even though it was supposed to so I didn't get my hopes up! The shampoo and conditioner are quite nice too. It's bath stuff rather than face stuff. There's a clarins spa which I fancied but it's significantly more pricey than home. Lovely DH said I should go to the one near us on my days off - I think he's opened Pandora's box there!!
Really annoying about your bathroom - you must show us some 'after' photos when it's finally done!

CantChoose · 07/09/2017 21:04

Oh, and I really want a beauty advent calendar even though I really don't need one... I've had the m&s the last two years and been pleased with it. Not sure whether I should branch out. Or maybe I should use last year's packaging and get DH to make me one from my stash!!!

curragh · 07/09/2017 22:05

Kwick well done on the bathroom packing

I have 2 empties
41. Espa bergamot, jasmine & cedarwood shower gel. Too strongly scented for me and I normally quite like spicy, masculine scents
42. Garnier hydrabomb moisturiser. Nice light day time moisturiser

Both on my 13 for Halloween list so I'm a happy camper tonight Smile

kwick · 08/09/2017 06:49

I am reporting an empty:

  • Nice n easy cc+ conditoner - ok so it comes with the hair dye but I NEED to feel I am doing something!!!!
