Kwick yin yoga sounds lush! Envy

I returned to work reluctantly last week. Here are some things that have really helped: a bit of extra pampering (nails + masking), listening to Gretchen Rubin's The Happiness Project on Audible, daily yoga to wind down (even just 20 minutes seems to make a difference), starting an immersive project at work, and booking a trip for next summer so that I have something to look forward to.

kwick · 15/08/2017 07:44

You sound real busy frustrated! What is an immersive project? Hmm

I am trying to get back to my "I am not travelling for work anymore routine" - so Monday SW weigh-in, Tuesday yin yoga, Wednesday free, Thursday Restorative Yoga, Friday free, weekend - swimming and allotment.
In theory on my free nights I should be clearing sh*t from my flat Grin

I have an empty:

  • Astral original face & body moisturiser: loved this!!! Great on face (night time) and body (day). Will defo come back to this but once I have NO MORE body creams!!!

woodhill · 15/08/2017 10:17

Wow about body creams Kwik.

I'm enjoying the rituals one from M&S beauty calendar.

ememem84 · 15/08/2017 13:11

I think I have about 4 uses of my grapefruit body butter left. Woohoo. That's only if I slather it on mind. But am determined that by the end of this week I will have moved onto a new one.

bunnybleu · 15/08/2017 15:55

Em I feel the same about my moringa body butter.....I can't to see the end of it!
I have binned my Aveeno body spray, it makes me itch so enough was enough. Also finished a BS Rose shower gel this morning so I think it's just the body butter left from my 12 to shelve.
I'm scraping the dregs of my double wear foundation, it's lasted a year which isn't bad going. Bought a Clinique super balanced one in an outlet at the weekend to replace it with (£12) but I do have a bit of a Body Shop one to use up too.
I really need to reorganise the stuff I use everyday (not the stash, that's sorted) as my dressing table is disappearing under it!! Grin

IPokeBadgers · 15/08/2017 19:31

Finished up an ancient Body Shop White musk EDT spray.....didn't sit well on me, prefer the perfume oil, so used it up as a bathroom airplay. Glad it's gone.

ememem84 · 15/08/2017 19:43

After the grapefruit body butter (body shop) I have a jo Malone grapefruit one, a body shop green tea (mini one) a palmers cocoa butter lotion in original and the self tan one, a clarins body lotion and I think a body shop passion fruit. I'm good for moisturisers now for at least 18 months I reckon. Possibly longer!!!

Strawberryfield12 · 15/08/2017 19:47

kwick I mainly used the baby oil instead of moisturiser in the evening after the shower. Felt bit weary to use it in the morning in case the oil leaves any greasy stains on close. The sad thing is - I have another bottle of the same baby oil in the cupboard to use.

FrustratedFrugal · 15/08/2017 21:10

Kwick your routine sounds great! Loving the variety of activities.
And loving hearing about everyone else as well.

I spent the entire day in a cafe by the sea working on my work project (I am developing two new courses for next year with some great colleagues - super creative and fun and we may have wrapped up the day with 🥂). Slightly sunburned, pampering myself with a MBD Aloe sheet mask. And I've done yoga on 10 consecutive days! Definitely feeling more toned, and I've not done anything crazy, just easy poses for 20-60 min every night.

Totally understand the patience/frustration of using up body products. I am set on finishing a foot cream I've had for a decade. I really like it but you know how it is, I tend to forget to apply it at night and it's too sticky for daytime.

bunnybleu · 15/08/2017 21:14

Baby oil is good for polishing stainless steel, if that helps use it up! I do my cooker hood with it, and the bin once every so often in a blue moon

Strawberryfield12 · 15/08/2017 22:03

Thank you bunny! I will definitely use it on the bin from now on! I have become much better with body products since on the thread, I actually use a body cream/ lotion every day 1-2 times a day. Never happened before with me!
But I have one product which I do forget to use. Browbar night time brow conditioner! Jezzz! Got it in the advent calendar, thought I wouldn't have bought it in the shop myself, but since it's here I will use it. I keep forgetting to use it, probably because it feels such a pointless product. Anti aging brow conditioner?! My ageing brows are beyond me... I think I will have to put it on the Halloween list to force use it finally.

Used Elgon deliwash, had it in a beauty box, it seems to have lots of great reviews, but it didn't clean my hair at all, by 4pm I was needing to wash them again. But I used it as any other conditioner after the hair wash and it was fine. Really expensive conditioner though.

kwick · 16/08/2017 08:01

That is a good idea badgers - maybe I should use up my Decleor pillow spray that way? Hmm

I really feel for you strawberry as baby oil lasts forever! I only ever put on a scar line that my knickers cover in the morning for the same reason. It is a good eye makeup remover...

frustrated just a few more days abd you will have created a (good) habit - well done 🥇

Ooooh bunny I will try out on my oven!

My brows are getting very patchy and thin - I am trying to remember to swipe some castor oil on them each night.

Frugal, your skin looks fabulous. No need for foundation!
And I love Dragon's pink hair. I have hair envy Envy

Lots of empties - well done everyone. Hope you're all enjoying the space you're reclaiming from all these empty bottles! (Or enjoying filling those spaces with lovely new ones! Whatever floats your boat!)

I have some to add from my 12 to shelve, plus some bonus products:

1. Tigi Bed Head conditioner. HURRAH!!!!

  1. Aloe Vera eye makeup remover.
3. Aussie miracle leave in conditioner.
  1. Bentley lip balm.
5. Nivea oil-free moisturizer 6. Botanics cleanser. 7. St Tropez moisturizer AND the exfoliater that goes with it!
  1. Schwarzkopf illuminating oil
9. Avon lipstick 10. Maybelline Mousse foundation - no, but I am only about two days away from using up a Rimmel foundation that I switched to once I realised how empty it was 11. John Frieda shampoo. 12. Lee Stafford hair mask

Not on my list but finished are an Amie shine-free moisturiser (not shine-free - became a handcream); La Roche Posay suncream sample; Nivea suncream; two lipsticks I binned because I realised that I have nicer ones I will always choose over them; four nail polishes I gave to a friend's daughter (same story as lipsticks); bottle of Baroque perfume.

Sounds like I'm on a roll, until you learn that I joined that flaming Mrs Gloss group on FB and have since subscribed to Latest in Beauty plus I bought a whole metric fuckton of their boxes in the sale, bought most of Aldi's Lacura range (LOVING the whole range - nightcream is a mere £.169 and right up in there in the 'best cream I've ever used' category - I think only the Elemis nightcream beats it, and I can't justify that price) and want to now subscribe to FFS...

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/08/2017 17:54

Sounds like everyone is doing well! Something I didn't have on my list is a Channel lipliner....It was really expensive, and is horribly scratchy as a lipliner...also the lid broke really quickly, and I foolishly bought another one, to use the good lid, and then swap them back over, so I then had two of the blasted things. They have changed the lid, cos they obviously realised it was rubbish, and I shan't buy it again. I'm down to the last half inch, and I'm consigning it to the bin! Expensive rubbish!

bunnybleu · 16/08/2017 20:19

Daisy we haven't got a convenient Aldi to us but I'd love to try their skincare, it seems to get fab reviews. I bought a night cream in Lidl on Monday, that's nice as it seems really rich at first but sinks in quickly. I also picked up their own version of the Aussie conditioner which I haven't seen in there before.
Today I bought the new Superdrug Simply Pure rich moisturiser which is lovely!!!
Finished up a Charles Worthington conditioner I found in the shower, lovely smell a bit like Sanctuary body lotion, but as it was bought in B&M the chances are they don't make that one any more.
Had a lovely pm going through my dressing table drawers, have given DD a couple of too pale for me concealers, and chucked a foundation and two old lipsticks that I know I won't use.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 16/08/2017 20:22

Haven't tried the Aldi creams, largely because I like a high SPF. I have wondered about the night cream though. Currently using the Organic Rose night cream from Holland & Barret, which seems nice enough.

CantChoose · 16/08/2017 21:38

I've finished a full size elemis lime blossom cleanser. So pleased to see the back of it I might throw a farewell party.
I really don't like cleansing milks. I'd like to go back to Liz Earle asap but have a few others to use up first. I have a huge Lancôme cleansing milk that was a gift. I'm not sure I can face it, I might eBay it.

mintmagnummm · 17/08/2017 08:17

I got back from holiday last night and used up a big tube of lrp kids factor 50 suncream for my body, I would definitely repurchase this!

pasturesgreen · 17/08/2017 11:11

Have been a bit silent as work has been manic of late.

Anyway, I've started to make a dent in my random samples stash, have used up a few but there's a box full Hmm

Have cut open an ancient tube of Nip Tuck Dry Leg Fix which was quite good and has since been discontinued so I'm a bit sad, still two or three uses there so will keep going, same with my Dior pink clay mask (a rip off! Why, oh why, did I think pink clay of all things would be a novel idea?).

Had to replace eye cream and top coat polish as had run out of both and while I was there I ended up spending about £90 on random bits of new season makeup Blush

I'm off to southern Italy on Monday, so definitely scope for for using up some sunscreen and more summery makeup while there! Have also resisted buying the Herbivore blue tansy mask I'd seen recommended on another thread here, so actually feeling quite saintly Halo I know I have no reason to...

curragh · 17/08/2017 15:15

Empty no. 35 Clarins invigorating body lotion 40ml travel size. Delish scent and easily absorbed

kwick · 17/08/2017 18:01

sponge I am using a Chanel lipliner too which my SIL gave me - you are right it is scratchy! Angry

No Aldi or decent Lidl nr me either Sad

Great progress ladies!

I gave away a toilet bag of goodies to a family member - I reckon there were 6 items in it. It feels good to make a dent in the stash.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 17/08/2017 19:00

Not just mine then Kwick. Why is it scratchy tho? My Estee Lauder one isn''t! Is it just a cheap material, or do they feel it gives more precision? Found a body lotion, new, that my auntie had snuck into a bag of old bottles I wanted (yes, I know...but I like them. Antique bottles, not make-up) and reader, I married him I put it straight in the charity bag!
