We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

bernice they do stock GD at JL but not the top I want sadly. After a really busy day the last thing I want to do is trek to a shop so I'm just going to put it out of my mind. £145 is a lot anyway. There'll be plenty of other tops I'm sure.

I like kimonos but they are hard to wear I think.

Bloomed · 21/08/2017 19:09

Thanks Bernice I'll check Me and Em. Hard to know if the fabrics will be work appropriate.
Shop that Trinny video is wild! The velvet kimono looks quite sleek (and long) there. Maybe it could be a coat substitute.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 22/08/2017 12:52

QueenC not sure what style you are interested in, but here are some more grey leather boots!
Here

I've also decided to give the kimono a try.

Bloomed · 22/08/2017 13:06

That kimono is very cool Bernice.

Dreamqueen · 22/08/2017 20:25

Lovely kimono Bernice I can't wear anything like that, I'm far too short.

Contact lens update: so far I've trialed 2 differnet lots of multifocals. One set were perfect for distance but not so good at near and vice versa. I'm trying different prescriptions this week an d will report back. It has been lovely to be able to put makeup on and I've been able to see enough on nights out so I'll probably order a months supply to try.

Hello Shop missing you on here.

Another update, the levis that I bought from Costco are fantastic. They are the same style as I bought from Debenhams for £80 but only £36. I even went back to buy a spare pair. Smile

queencerulean · 22/08/2017 20:32

They're nice bernice but I don't like the brown dole/heel. TBH I'm not sure what style I'm after. Possibly like the -hudsons that I had as I loved those (they had to go back as the rain ruined them). I probably need to decide what jeans I'll be wearing come a/w as I'm thinking of going more straight leg than skinny.
Lovely kimono. How will you wear it?

MarshaBrady · 22/08/2017 20:49

Hello - how's everyone finding the second half of summer holiday's?

Still going strong? - whether working or not

MarshaBrady · 22/08/2017 20:50

I obviously haven't posted for a while that is a ROGUE apostrophe

FedupNagging · 23/08/2017 07:51

Morning Smile

Dream I'm hoping to get to costco in the next few days so will keep an eye out for the levis; I didn't realise you could get multi focus contacts - i guess like glasses they must take a bit of getting used to.

I am picking up my first prescription glasses (& sunnies) today - I finally decided to ditch the ready readers from poundland!

Summer hols are going ok Marsha - I don't work in a school any longer and none of my dc's are at school so it's kind of passing me by! Hope you're coping.

That's a gorgeous kimono Bernice

Have a good day everyone.

queencerulean · 23/08/2017 09:23

marsha I'm finding it fine but it's only really now that I've got them. Before we went on holiday I was working and only had them for a couple of days each week. I've got them for the rest of this week and next week so ask me next Friday and I may have a different answer Grin. Not doing a lot today, I've got some house admin stuff to catch up on, one of which is to sort out the pet insurance-£800 this year-I'm not sure it's worth it!

libertyonhertravels · 23/08/2017 17:37

OMG QueenC I don't think I could pay that for pet insurance - health insurance for your children would be cheaper.

MarshaBrady · 23/08/2017 20:34

Expensive pets!

It has been fine here too, mostly because I've had loads of time of to laze around in the sun - a good holiday and good childcare eg clubs. Now doing some work while they live it up at a club. But I will be resting more soon!

We did do our holiday early though.

queencerulean · 24/08/2017 09:25

lib I know! I'm not sure why the premiums have massively raised.
I'm half dead this morning. Ds had a sleepover and they were up at 4.30!!!

libertyonhertravels · 24/08/2017 11:20

Poor you QueenC. Hope you have a quiet day planned.

Marsha summer hols don't really feel like it here - bit frantic with work, moving plans, DH's birthday and trying to get around and say goodbye to people. The holidays start for me in mid Sept Smile

On style I really want some orange loafers - I like these ones but too busy to deal with delivery and possible need for returns. If anyone sees a pair in a RL shop let me know.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/08/2017 14:04

Very cool loafers Lib, will keep an eye out for orange.

I did a Stories order, bought this dress but sent it back today as it just didn't sit right, and this hair clip in gold which I've kept because it's really cool. Grin

Anyone looked at Arket? I don't think I'll be ordering anything until I need some basic items. Also the dresses looked really long, they'd swamp me. Would be nice to see it in store.

In terms of holidays, I dread the increase in rush hour traffic after next week! Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/08/2017 14:33

Has anyone seen any good slogan tees? Most of them are completely naff. I really want one with my birth year but it seems that's not cool Grin!

queencerulean · 24/08/2017 16:27

blair do you follow frugality or fashion lift? They seem to both like a slogan tee. I haven't managed to see any arket stuff online yet but looking forward to going instore in a couple of weeks.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 24/08/2017 16:33

I've just bought a couple of sale ones Blair but not sure if they would be to your taste:
Salut!
Vacation I didn't pay that price for it Shock

Your post reminded me that Selfish mother did tops with years on it, but the earliest they have is 1999 which I assume is not your year of birth?!?!

This thread has almost been running for 3 months! That must be a record as I remember times when a thread would only cover 2 weeks!

Holiday is going well Marsha though like most I have been working too, so a bit of a mix. I do like the routine of school though.

I like those loafers Lib - maybe you should just go for it as I don't think you will find similar IRL - or is the thought of the DHL man also putting you off Wink

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/08/2017 17:26

Thanks Bernice those are fab! I will link if I end up getting one... Nope not born in 1999 Grin I guess the SM ones are meant to be children's birth years maybe.

QueenC thanks, will check out fashion lift, I do read the frugality.

shopafrolic · 24/08/2017 17:42

Blair I bought Milan and 1972 on my board here [[http://pin.it/-uetCCe
I thought you'd like this board on Pinterest]]
My niece laughed at me in TS when she heard that was the year I was born Angry

shopafrolic · 24/08/2017 17:43

try again

shopafrolic · 24/08/2017 17:56

Love the Salut one Bernice - not online anymore otherwise I would have copied you like a sheep.
You're right - 3 months for one thread is an age - too long. Perhaps we're all lacking inspiration at the moment.
I have made quite a few AW purchases but will wait for a new thread before linking.

shopafrolic · 24/08/2017 17:57

I'm excited for this

Dreamqueen · 24/08/2017 18:51

Sad to say that the Hudson loafres will have to go back. I ordered my usual size 4 (In Hudson boots) but I felt like an ugly sister from Cinderella trying to squeeze my foot into them. I'd done instore click & collect and tried on a 5 but they were huge. Why can't brands be consistent with their sizes.

Nice to see you back on here Shop

I love a slogan T shirt but feel that I might be getting too old for them.

Love the orange loafers Lib I'd order them. Orange is one of my favourite colours.

i've got no Autumn inspiration. I don't really need anything except for a flat pair of dressy going out shoes. I've put aside my Ebay selling money (from when I cleared out wardrobe) for an All Saints leather jacket. i pottered around Regent St today but couldn't get excited.

queencerulean · 24/08/2017 20:48

shop I've been busy ordering too!! The GD top I wanted came into new stock in JL today so I'll be picking it up from Waitrose tomorrow!

Shall we just end this thread and start a shiny new one?
