We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

I'm back! Unpacked, 3 loads of washing, 4 episodes of GoT and 2 Poldark. I'm ready to talk clothes!!!

Have caught up.....Will ponder on shoes/coat/bag question.

Agree with Amber about fashion.
Being tricky ATM for little curvy ladies....

Holiday packing was good....didn't wear one pair of shoes and 2 tops. But I need more better quality swimsuits, casual dresses for evenings and beach cover up thingies.
I also need to stick to fitted, well tailored clothing. A couple of the more boxy dresses I took made me feel, well, boxy.
I'm being ruthless and getting rid of holiday clothes that didn't make me feel good.

Looking forward to autumn stuff now.

Mara I will give you a tv list tomorrow when I've better wifi

Oh Lib and I haven't been abandoned Grin Hello everyone! Big wave.

Just got in from the Athletics championships. Fab time.

QueenC love those links including the Joseph one Grin

Dream I will be following your progress. I turned down the multifocal lenses and stick with my distance lenses and then at work i wear my special prescription glasses if I want to read anything.

queencerulean · 14/08/2017 07:29

I kind of fell asleep doing links and didn't post anything else.

Like dry, I'm back and have done mountains of washing. A lot of my summer clothes also need updating next year as some are faded and past their best.

I'm ready now for a/w clothes with a HUGE lust list. Not linking anything as don't want them to sell out.

Work today. Could so do with another day at home.

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/08/2017 08:08

Hi all.

Hope you had a nice time dry. I've got quite a few 'casual dresses for evening' from boden over the last couple of years. There are some gems I find you stay away from some of the more garish patterns. I felt this year my holiday wardtobe was spot on (for the place we went).

stokey hope you have a good holiday too. Just looking at your holiday shoe list and wondering whether you could travel in the Gigi's and not take the birkies and if you only need one pair of shoes for evening? If you wanted to reduce the list? I always used to take loads of shoe options and would only wear a couple, so now I'm much more ruthless.

dream good luck with the contacts. I've never had much luck with contacts but would really like to crack it as i don't like wearing glasses.

lib good sorting out the other day. Outfit sounded really nice. Shame the dress is a bit booby.

mara your day out sounded lovely and relaxing. Dress for the event sounds lovely. I know what you mean about being spontaneous, when we stay with my parents it's always nice to be able to go out for a drink or walk on the beach whenever we want.

I'm in Cornwall for another week 'working from Home' whilst DH has headed back to London to face the Waterloo train nightmare. Managed to burn my nose and now it's started to peel a bit. Hope everyone has a lovely week!

VivaVegas · 14/08/2017 08:16

Morning!
I am back too and have just about won the battle of the post holiday washing and ironing!
Fab holiday and felt very relaxed and so nice not to have to wear a watch as no time restraints.
I bought a few new dresses for this year and it was nice to wear them having had some other stuff for a few years. For me dresses in the evening when it's hot and your eating and drinking are perfect, took one pair of short tailored black shorts and a couple of tops but only wore once as not so comfy round the middle!
I did a final reductions Hush order from my sun lounger 😂 so came home to that, need to try it and after that it'll be autumnal shopping. Most of the things will take me into autumn but bought a lovely strappy top in a fab colour which would be good during the day with denim shorts for the next warm holiday / a final August heatwave!
Lucky enough to have a few more days off work this week so days out locally, could get used to not working all week!

libertydoddle · 14/08/2017 15:07

Nice to hear everyone has had such good holidays Smile

Have just counted up the numbers for a MU on 9th Sept:

Yes: Dream, Amber, Marsha, Blair, One, Everyone, Sleep and me (obvs!)

Maybe: Fedup, Bernice, Stokey, Kitty

All welcome as always - I'm going to wait another week to see what final numbers are looking like before booking a venue.

libertydoddle · 14/08/2017 15:07

Oh and the lovely Shop is a maybe too...

maradesbois · 14/08/2017 17:48

Welcome back from hols Dry, Vegas, QueenC & others.

Everyone working from 'home' by the beach sounds like the perfect way to ease yourself back in!

Lib glad we got our mini mu sorted.

Slow day here, only news is that my goyard clutch does work with the dress, happy days. Oh and just stumbled across the dress of my dreams, this beauty.

Dream thanks for Ozark suggestion, going to give it a try.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 14/08/2017 18:03

mara dp and i watched Ozark and were thoroughly gripped by it. it does get pretty dark in places though be warned

Having housemate problems, well, housemate in the singular. he is constantly complaining that the house is dirty when it really and truly isnt yet he does none of the cleaning or bin emptying and is now causing everyone to get really pissed off at him. we have tried talkign to him as have other hosuemates but he is ignoring what we say to hima nd just leaves passive aggressive notes taped to the fridge making demands of everyone that suit him. really annoyed at him as its making me feel uncomfortable and out of place and i shouldn't be made to feel that way. uggggh cant wait for when we can eventually get a place of our own although no idea when that will be as yet.

still no fashion news to report other han i bought a couple of lindy bop dresses. don't know yet if i'll keep them or not, they haven't arrived yet. they are the same style just different patterns to a coupl eive already got that i know suit but we'll see with the new patterns, not everything suits depending on colour mixes and i find it harder to judge patterns when buying online than i do plain fabrics

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 18:47

Gosh poor you One. When i shared a house i got so wound up about some things and look back now and realise that it was just such a small passage of time in my life. This won't last forever. Flowers

Mara, gorgeous dress! I drowned in my height when i looked at it though Grin

lib, i am a maybe, sorry to be dithery.

We are actually going away on holiday tomorrow. Finally. So i hope the neighbours don't mind taking in my Rag & Bone copper loafers when they arrive! I got a rather excited message from Lib that there was one in, in my size...thank goodness for one click! Grin

MarshaBrady · 14/08/2017 20:32

Brilliant Blingy have a great holiday! Will be ace

Stokey you too, very hot sounds fab

Sounds lovely Everyone

Hang in there One

I LOVE that dress Mara, you've inspired me to go to Liberty to finally spend a voucher - and check out AW stuff

justasecond · 14/08/2017 21:17

Hi everyone I'm back too but not sure I can catch up with everything!
I went somewhere boiling, 48 on some days. I got the most use out of my light silk trousers from Massimo dutti and these stella m trousers which were a bicester bargain. I wore all 4 pairs of shoes I took though Blush

I managed to get the last gucci marmont in this size at t5 duty free. First time i had flown from t5 loved the shopping

mara that dress is tdf, perfect in every way. I wonder if matches will send a code again this season? will have to ponder over your question!

Have a great holiday blingy will go back and look for the rag and bone loafers.

one that sounds tough Flowers
lib I'm so sorry won't be able to make it on the 9th. dd is doing an exam that week so need to be around that weekend.
I'm not ignoring everyone else, I just need to catch up!

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 21:45

Good grief Justa, 48 is so unpleasant Shock

There is absolutely nothing fashionable or glamorous about my next 2 weeks. Zilch. In fact, it's the least amount of clothes i have ever taken on holiday, no bling and my only make up is tinted moisturiser and tinted lip balm. So i have been looking at what i am buying when i get back and have fallen in lust again for the first time in age. This Chloe Lexa suede bag is currently sat in my Selfridges basket just waiting for me to buy on my return. Swoon.

libertydoddle · 14/08/2017 22:01

No bling Blingy... Really??? Shock. The Chloe bag is absolutely gorgeous.

Great to have you back justa. 48 degrees sounds hideous. How did the DC cope? Great that you got the Gucci. It's a fantastic bag.

Kitty have the Boden leopard shoes arrived? How are they? Am so tempted...

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 22:30

Lib, I have been suffering from psoriasis on my hands over the last couple of months and the doctor gave me a cream for it a few weeks ago. I took my engagement and eternity rings off a couple of weeks ago because the finger joint was dry and I didn't want to get the cream on them but I kept my wedding ring on - it is the slimmest plain band that Tiffanys do - 2mm. On my other hand, i have been wearing my Merci mamman stacking ringss*. 3 rings each engraved with an initial of dh and the 2 dcs. Dh is bristling with possessiveness that it isn't immediately obvious that i am married because my wedding ring is so discrete.Grin

Anyway as it's not that kind of a holiday, I think i am going to stick with my CK plain watch, my Merci Maman leather wrapp* which is engraved with dh and dc's names and the rings. That counts as no bling for me!!

Kitty/Dream - i can't remember which one of you asked, but the R&B ballet flats which rubbed a little on the first wear was the leopard print ones. I have the "Adult" version and they don't rub.

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 22:31

Oh that's weird boldingConfused

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 22:48

I have 4 things in my NAP basket. Will link when i get back from hols as i would be gutted if they run out of stock while i was on holiday! But here are a different 4 things that caught my eye:

If only this Mary Katrantzou dress wasn't half sleeves.

These Christian Louboutin pumps feel so wrong, yet so familiar. Look at how the model's feet are squished in. Yup, looks like same old Louboutin experience minus the heels!!

Lovely. Sadly this Burberry cardigan is for the tall people.

I know they're weird, but i want these Prada shoes so much. Sadly, it's still too soon for my back and it wouldn't thank me.Sad

libertydoddle · 14/08/2017 22:51

Blingy Can't link as on phone but your Merci Maman links previously got me looking there and one of presents I have got DH for his 50th is a sterling silver keyring with a heart charm with a personalized message from DD and a little girl charm with her name. It's really lovely.

Longislandicetee · 14/08/2017 23:04

Oh that sounds lovelySmile.

queencerulean · 15/08/2017 07:53

Those Praia shoes are lush. I like the Chloe bag too but surprised by the gold hardware. Aren't you a silver girl? Have a fab holiday.
justa 48 sounds hideous. I've done 40 previously and that was bad enough.

My job contract was due to end in November but has been extended until next summer. Feel like I should buy something to celebrate Grin. Trouble is, there's so much I'm lusting after that I can't decide what to buy! I'm trying to be sensible and prioritise what I need.

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/08/2017 08:08

Lovely links blingy. I was just reading the thread about louboutin shoes being 'hurty fu*kers' to quote one of the posters! Have a great holiday.

That dress is gorgeous mara, can really see you in it. Glad the goyard bag goes well with the dress.

Wow justa that was hot! My DH would be moaning nonstop! He was bad enough when it was 34. Grin lovely Gucci bag.

Great news on the contract extension queenc.

What do voguettes think about coloured shoes and opaques? I've seen a pair of bright pink shoes that might look good with the long sleeve dvf dress and with navy blue but am just wondering whether I would need to wear nude tights.

Day 2 of 'Working from home' at the seaside has already encountered a problem as there's a massive power cut. Hopefully it will be back on soon. I need a Brew

Longislandicetee · 15/08/2017 08:25

Thanks Everyone, that doesn't sound like a good start! Hope it gets sorted out soon. It sounded so bliss yesterday! Louboutins were definitely the biggest purchasing disappointments of my life. I had so wanted them for years and when i finally got them, i think the buying euphoria meant they didn't hurt till i was in the store. Oh no, that torturous experience came after!

Can't wait to see what your salivating over QueenC

Mara, really glad you have flexibility with your beautiful bag.

One of the the last bits and bobs i am doing today is doing the rsvp for a party for the launch of a new jewellery collection. I have never done one of those before!Grin

VivaVegas · 15/08/2017 08:29

Good news on the job front Queen.
That's really hot Justa, we were late 30s and that was just bearable at times.
Everyone I think rich deep colours look fine with opaques but it depends on the shoe. I don't like natural tights, don't know why, I just feel frumpy in them so once it's colder it's opaques or trousers!
Had a browse of new in stuff, so much better than this summers clothes!

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/08/2017 10:56

Power is back on now. Weather is beautiful today. The DC are off to the beach later with my parents, I'm trying to crack on so I can go too.

Loads of nice things on the Iutnet today. I've seen at least 3 things I want! They are A/W buys but not sure I want to spend a good chunk of my A/W budget before the end of August. Though there's always the fear of something selling out on the outnet....

maradesbois · 15/08/2017 19:54

One dark is good Wink. Sorry about your housemate issues, hopefully he will move out.

Blingy enjoy your hols. Word of warning, not that you need it, don't click on any of that lovely stuff while you're away and assume someone will sign for it. I stupidly ordered a top from nap a few weeks ago from my sun lounger to be delivered to my dsis's house without checking with her, turned out she was away & dhl left it in the bin then neighbour put the bin out! Have an investigation pending. I agreed it could be left in safe place but am arguing bin is not safe. Luckily it was v cheap on sale but still annoying.

Everyone sounds perfect (apart from power cut)

Bought a new season item today, this skirt from Zara. Was an impulse buy but no regrets so far.
