We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Hi all! It's my birthday :) so I have the day off work and am out tonight with DH. Crap weather though. For dinner I think I am going to wear Warehouse top with skinnies, Pistols and biker jacket. Dh got me a lovely tennis bracelet so I will wear that too.

Kitty I always people watch in waitrose! Mine often has Birkins and other things to spot. The LV bag is very chic.

Ouch queenC I hope you feel better soon.

The best thing on tv right now is Ray Donovan (season 5). Watch it, you won't be disappointed Wink

Have a fab evening * Blair you look lovely in your photo.

justasecond · 18/08/2017 22:24

Happy birthday Blair hope you are having a brilliant evening xx

queencerulean · 19/08/2017 08:58

Hmmm, I was all ready to order the £145 blouse last night but £13 postage Shock. I don't think so!

queencerulean · 19/08/2017 14:40

Where are you all....?

Just been shopping with dd and the hell thatnis sports direct for trainers for her. She dragged me into Zara and despite vowing never to buy anything in there again I immediately fell in love with this. I figured that hopefully lace can't shrink or go out of shape so will be a safe bet.

queencerulean · 19/08/2017 14:44

I bought this for dd. She wanted the matching skirt but I wasn't about to spend that much on a 11yo!

I'm not sure what trainers I'm going to get to replace my keds. I tried some superga but wasn't sure, I like vans and adidas but not on me. I need a proper try on without a preteen hanging around. Also went in cos but all so shapeless.

libertyonhertravels · 19/08/2017 21:02

£13 for postage is insane QueenC, I'm not surprised your passed. I like both Zara tops - I had better stay out of there! I have more than enough to pack. I hope your back is a bit better today.

Happy belated birthday Blair, hope you had a lovely day. I am Envy at you getting a tennis bracelet.

The Boden shoes arrived and I can confirm that they are comfy. But I really don't suit pointy toes (I should know this by now) so they are going back.

I have revised my packing list for about the 5th time today. When I first did it I forgot to factor in that I have 2 weeks still at work in London after all the stuff is shipped which complicates it all somewhat Confused.

Dreamqueen · 20/08/2017 10:40

Lovely tops QueenC

I like those Boden shoes Lib I have a shoe gap in my wardrobe since giving up heels. I need some shoes to wear going out in Autumn. Something to wear with dresses.

Just bought these loafers but want something dressier.

Bloomed · 20/08/2017 16:01

Coming back to report belatedly on some style advice blingy gave me. I did go to the art event and wore the jumpsuit you advised! It went very well. I borrowed a friend's McCartney Falabella bag and was heckled in the street on the way to it by some young girls shouting nice bag, which was unexpected. Still working on getting my fashion mojo back while dealing with house move and health stuff. At the moment am wondering if I could get away with zara's new season green velvet kimono. Probably not.

queencerulean · 20/08/2017 20:46

disco boots....

FedupNagging · 20/08/2017 21:01

That's great Bloomed. The kimono looks very luxe - how would you style it?

Queen £13 for delivery Shock. Both Zara tops are nice and can you link the one you didn't order or are you keeping it in reserve for now? Oh and ouch, your poor back.

Blair just wanted to say that you looked fab in your birthday photos. Can't believe how long your hair is now too.

Lib I am really sorry but can't now make your MU. We've finally booked a holiday and much as I'd love to wave you off, I'm really looking forward to soaking up some sunshine.

Great loafers Dream and I love the blue metallic version.

I came across leather jackets in Mango -this one caught my eye as did this - I like the slightly longer length. Does anyone have any leather from Mango?

FedupNagging · 20/08/2017 21:16

The slightly worrying thing about those boots Queen is that at £6k, they've sold out!

I've found a couple of pairs of grey boots (got bored of looking for black leather biker jackets)
Carvela - might be a bit high
I love these
Dune
M&S disco boots

Bloomed · 20/08/2017 21:55

Those mango jackets look good FedUp. I had a suede mango jacket which was good quality.
Not sure how I'd wear green velvet kimono, maybe over a black outfit? It may well be too long. I think the boots links all go to carvela?

kittyhello · 21/08/2017 07:31

That was the first thing I noticed too about those boots Fedup Shock

Bloom glad you felt good at your event

Lib yes those shoes are quite pointy aren't they?

kittyhello · 21/08/2017 07:32

Forgot to say great loafers Dream very Gucci like.

queencerulean · 21/08/2017 09:01

fedup all your links are to the same carvela boot.
Currently sightseeing in London with the dc. I linked those boots last night and then pretty much fell asleep whilst browsing other stuff Grin
I have a feeling that the dc may want to chill in the hotel a bit later so I might try and nip to Gerard Darrel to try the top.

libertyonhertravels · 21/08/2017 10:36

QueenC if you decide to buy the top in Gerard Darel double check the returns policy as I think in their own shops they don't always allow returns.

Fedup no worries re MU - hope you have a lovely holiday.

Welcome back Bloomed. I have no idea re Mango leather but as a general rule I find their jackets overall are great.

Bloomed · 21/08/2017 12:53

I haven't been to a Gerard Darel in years. I had some amazing wideleg navy trousers from them.
After jumpsuit success am thinking of trying skinny harem pants and joggers as softer alternatives to skinnies, even for workwear. I've ordered the hush harems but they may be too casual. Has anyone seen anything?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/08/2017 13:23

Bloomed I would say the Hush harems would be too casual for work. Me and Em seem to be good at that 'sports luxe' look.

The green velvet kimono sounds good - do you have a link?

I have a yen for a kimono too - I've seen one I like in Whistles but it is ££.

Hope you had a happy birthday Blair.

QueenC I was wondering which website charged £13 for delivery!? Do they stock GD at somewhere like John Lewis?

I'd love to know what people are feeling inspired by for AW - I can't get my head into that space yet. Feels like summer never got started...

Bloomed · 21/08/2017 15:31

Thanks Bernice this is the kimono. I've not yet seen it in real life. Not sure if it's too long for me but I'm interested in silk velvet m.zara.com/uk/en/woman/new-in/long-silk-velvet-kimono-c840002p4785033.html

shopafrolic · 21/08/2017 18:03

Hey Bloomed somewhere buried in this video Trinny tries that kimono on. www.facebook.com/TrinnyWoodall/videos/1629836317076339/
It might give you a better idea of how it looks :)

FedupNagging · 21/08/2017 18:20

Sorry about the link fail Blush; I'll attempt to find them all again:
Dune
M&S very own disco boots
House of Fraser

All the really nice grey boots are suede so it may be a bit of a struggle find THE perfect grey leather boot!

Lovely to see you back again Shop

Bernice I haven't had much of a look at the A/W styles yet and probably won't until back from hols. I picked up a couple of fab bargains in JL recently for A/W though. I like the idea of joggers/harem pants as a skinny alternative but I generally need more structure in trousers.
