We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Hello. I am new here and devoured your thread this morning. I have found my people Smilethanks to a link here I bought theses [[https://m.johnlewis.com/sam-edelman-trina-2-block-heeled-sandals/black-leather/p/3185425?size=6]] this morning. I have very wide feet so I gear they may go back. We are off to Italy next week so I am hoping they will be OK.

JemandScout · 05/08/2017 13:55

I meant fear not gear Confused

Stokey · 05/08/2017 14:46

Welcome back Marsha

I had a different code Fedup, but looks like you're sorted

Love the MiH shirt Bernice, what a bargain.

Have a good holiday QueenC, I'm sure you're being your own worst judge.

Hello Jem - good name, I still regret not calling dd2 Scout! And good buy on the Trinas, they're my favourite sandals.

On the SE shoes front, I bought the Francis scalloped flats from Brand Alley - they're a bit of a ringer for the Chloe ones. Sadly BA sent me the wrong size so they were too small, but DM has taken them. I'd definitely buy again but want black leather rather than suede, & now can't find them at the right price. Thought they may be good for you Blingy? They come in lots of different colours. I also bought some French Sole pony hair ballet shoes, hopefully good for work.

On my work shop, the two Me + EM black dresses, swing & summer drawstring, are both keepers. I sent back the &OS dress though, it was too big on the top but tight round hips so no sizing up.

I'm not sure about the 9th Lib. I may be able to pop in for a bit but looks like being the weekend before I start work so may be in panic mode!

JemandScout · 05/08/2017 17:11

Thanks Stokey. I love those scalloped flats. I can only dream of getting my fat feet into such loveliness.

kittyhello · 05/08/2017 20:34

Hello and welcome Jem like the Trinas, they seem perfect for your holiday to Italy, stick around

Glad you had success with your Me&Em buys Stokey

Dream good news about the ruched dress

Queen I too think you're being too harsh on yourself, I can't imagine you being scruffy, you have lovely clothes and bags.

Lib put me down as a maybe for 9th, I've got a busy September but hopefully I can come. Also re: a khaki jacket I was in town and saw this jacket and thought of you it's similar to the one Bernice linked but it has pockets.

Great Boden dress Fedup

So Blingy did you buy anything?

Welcome back Marsha your holiday sounds lovely, I'm in desperate need for some sun

queencerulean · 05/08/2017 22:06

Ha ha, you're all too lovely Grin. Seriously, the top I was wearing is years old and needs relegating to the pyjama or charity pile. It will however, be fine for the remainder of our holiday especially as I will probably be wearing a fleece and waterproof over it Grin

AmberNectarine · 05/08/2017 23:51

Welcome Jem - lovely shoes. I have a modest shoe collection myself

Lib that is the weekend of my wedding anniversary, but DH isn't moving to the other side of the world in the near future (to my knowledge), so I'll be there!

fedup sounds like my kind of weekend!

Off work now for FOUR WEEKS. If it weren't for the children, this would be nirvana.

queencerulean · 06/08/2017 15:46

Just chilling after a full on day of activities. Doing my favourite Sunday thing....
for bernice

queencerulean · 06/08/2017 15:49

pray this doesn't become a trend

queencerulean · 06/08/2017 15:53

blingy, would these work?

maradesbois · 07/08/2017 10:39

Hello,

Vegas your holiday sounds great, lovely when you get to make time to read proper books too. Am with you on the wedges, my espadrilles were the best buy of the season. Have worn them for everything from work to holiday nights out.

Lib I can't do 9th, we are going to Goodwood Revival but will pm you. Really want to see you before you leave Sad

QueenC definitely not a scruff! That is a shocking pair of trousers and a terrible description, 'influencer-approved' ffs!

I unexpectedly have time on my hands this grey morning (cancelled job interview, long dull story) so have a fashion question for you all this grey morning:

You get to choose 3 items: 1. a coat/jacket, 2. shoes and 3. bag. These can be fantasy/reality/mix of both. What do you opt for and why?

Mine are: coat the
APC trench I linked the other day. Not the most exciting but so well made, classic and versatile.

Shoes would be these Gucci bee trainers which am seriously considering. I never wear green although really like it and would like to introduce some into my wardrobe and explains bag choice too.

Bag is pure fantasy unless dh feels like splashing out at Christmas, Goyard Boeing bag in handbag size 30cm - love the yellow pictured but I would get in dark green.

MarshaBrady · 07/08/2017 12:38

Beautiful picks Mara, love the bee

Lib yes to 9th, sounds ace. A silver lining is the lovely MUs we've had before you leave!

Ok will think about three things

libertydoddle · 07/08/2017 14:31

Quickly popping in to say so pleased 9th works for so many people - will update properly later.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/08/2017 15:00

I think the 9th works for me too! :)

3 things...
Coat: Burberry trench (reality)
Shoes: Black OTK boots (on the lookout)
Bag: Tom Ford Tara bag in tan (fantasy but I might get this as an alternative)

I am fed up with buying things and not wearing them (basically I have too many clothes) so this season I'm going to try to just buy accessories and maybe a coat. And get balayage in my hair.

Mara the bee trainers are very cool and you should definitely show your DH the Goyard bag!

Welcome Jem, hope you have a great time in Italy.

AmberNectarine · 07/08/2017 23:59

A good news day for me - year end results came out and I got a significant promotion, a very nice pay rise and a bonus. Very pleased!

Needless to say, with money burning a hole, I can't find anything I really want. I'm sure the new season will bring temptation, though fashion really isn't exciting me at the moment. I'm sure blingy will understand - it's really not geared toward the shortish, hourglass girl right now!

In terms of my 3, I'm looking forward to wearing the red Harris Wharf coat I picked up in the sales and my grey Highlands from last year. Bag-wise, I have no idea!

AmberNectarine · 08/08/2017 00:01

Blair for OTKs I really don't think you can beat Stuart Weitzman. I have four pairs and they really are the best, in my opinion. An investment, certainly, but my various pairs are holding up well:

Longislandicetee · 08/08/2017 00:16

Oh Amber, how fantastic!!!Flowers well done!! Agree with you on current fashion.

libertydoddle · 08/08/2017 08:31

Very well done Amber. 🍾🍾🎉

On my 3, coat I would love a wool, single breasted Maxmara coat in camel. Shoes, Grenson tan brogues and bag PS satchel style in a very dark olive green.

libertydoddle · 08/08/2017 08:38

And OOTD is navy midi flared Warehouse skirt, LKB mustard and off white striped T, Burberry Mac, Elia B leopard print loafers and navy Pliage bag. Gold earrings, rose gold watch. My hair is a total frizzball in this weather. Have been debating it for months but I think I will try out a Brazilian blow-dry.

MarshaBrady · 08/08/2017 10:42

I love your lists, I'm going for a Céline box bag, Céline knee high boot if they have them, and a Céline coat.

These are hypothetical and now I'd actually have to find the actual items and colours I'd want.

Longislandicetee · 08/08/2017 17:45

Hello!

So I had a busy visit to R&B on Sunday. I bought these flat quilt ballerina pumps which were replacing the ones I have worn to death over the last 3 years. Also got the fullrins leopard print ballet pumps. I have to admit they're pretty but rub against the back of my leg. I got both of these because they are in the children's department so cheaper! I alsoI bought this Jude tote as s present for my mum.

kittyhello · 09/08/2017 15:16

Lovely buys Blingy love the bag for your mum. I too have black Quilty's which I 've just started wearing again. Will look at children's now I know they do my size. Have they only recently added children's shoes to their website?

My list for Mara

Grey Burberry coat which I'm not going to link yet as I'm probably going to bit the bullet this winter and buy it.

fantasy Chanel bag, not to wear with the coat!

shoes Rockstuds

maradesbois · 09/08/2017 17:29

Hello,

Am back in the sunshine, not for long but feels so good, can't cope with the crappy August weather Sad

Love the answers about the three items, can't go wrong with Céline on Céline Marsha and glad to see you got some leopard print in there kitty!

Blingy I was looking at your R&B shoe links for ages trying to work out why they were so reasonable then finally realised they were children's! Very nice and always good to get a bargain.

lib I had the Brazilian blow dry a few years ago. Was good for frizz but still had to make quite an effort with styling, was expecting a miracle where you don't even need hairdryer but it isn't.

FedupNagging · 09/08/2017 17:44

List for Mara:
Chloe pumps
Vintage Chanel
Acne jacket

Meanwhile, back in the real world, I haven't found a leather jacket I like as much as the budget busting Jigsaw one. I really don't want to go over budget so apparently need to manage my expectations, according to dh Hmm

Huge congrats to Amber, well deserved I am sure. Looking forward to seeing which bag you eventually plump for.

Blair I love the colour & style of the Tom Ford bag you linked although the MK one is not too shabby either.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 09/08/2017 18:13

Just popping in with my list for Mara Envy of your return to the sun.

Jacket - fantasy would be a Chanel jacket to wear over jeans and t.
Bag - coach hobo in black - am seriously considering.
Shoes - Golden goose trainers I love the colour of these but wouldn't pay £300+ for them.

Mara the bee trainers are cool.
I also love those Chloe heels FedUp and they seem a better use of £300 than the Golden Goose.
Great idea to get the children's size Blingy, amazing how much less they are.

Congratulations Amber.
