SotD - Eau de Courreges. Dry, green (mint and lime to be precise) aromatic citrus - 70s style (First cousin of Eau de Rochas and O de Lancome). Perfect for the heat.

VintagePerfumista · 27/05/2017 07:57

Oooh Eau de Courreges sounds wonderful.

I am laughing at you all sweating- welcome to my world! Grin Of course I am the only white red sweaty huffing and puffing blob wandering round. The Italians are still putting jackets and scarves on (not yet June 15th!) in case they get a hit of "air" Confused and drop down dead.

I am in Liz Earle 1 again today. My go-to crisp citrussy greens trio- Jade, Eau du Sud, Liz Earle 1- love them all so much.

Dd is most offended by dp who has told us our seasalt candle smells of "the stuff you put on to get rid of mosquitoes" and her Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus (lovely light watery cool- an antidote to the PM beloved of teenage girls) smells like fly spray.

It doesn't, he is just a neanderthal.

MrsCocoa · 27/05/2017 08:43

The rain's coming today Vintage! Weather warning for flooding Shock

Talking of Courreges, has anyway tried their 2016 release, Hyperbole? The notes sound interesting and that has to be one of the best names for a bottle of perfume ever! Not sure how widely available it is?

Other recent (re)releases from like Courreges In Blue and Blanc de Courreges keep turning up in TK Maxx. Anyone tried?

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 09:57

Anyone got any suggestions for a scent for when you are in a vile temper!? 😠

VintagePerfumista · 27/05/2017 10:06

Poison of course!

VintagePerfumista · 27/05/2017 10:07

Or whatever your comfort food fragrance is, so in your case, probably Knowing? Flowers

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 10:10

Yes. Quite grey here today - matches my mood!
Have a good weekend all x

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 10:11

My sis prob has some poison knocking about somewhere 😁

GreenPolishToGo · 27/05/2017 11:15

Poor Badders. Poison, Obsession, Opium, Spellbound, Magie Noire and Tigress (not tried it but the name sounds perfect) would be my suggestions for "I'm in a mean mood," fragrances.

Hyperbole is a brilliant name for a perfume but surely a bit too honest about the whole scent marketing hype!

Looking grey here too and just after I'd embarked on a mass eiderdown wash. Oops.

Started off the day with a lavish splash of Eau de Cologne Imperiale but that might change with the weather.

Oh, spellbound?
I must give that one another try...

VintagePerfumista · 27/05/2017 12:57

Bandit! Bandit would also be a fragrance with attitude.

ThreeForAPound · 27/05/2017 13:07

Afternoon, Perfumistas.

I'm grumpy today, too. Going to a party with DH later, though, so need to cheer up and enjoy a rare child-free evening out!

Haven't decided on a perfume yet. Something 'femme fatale' is in order, though, I think Grin

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 14:28

Bandit? I like the sound of that

ThreeForAPound · 27/05/2017 14:38

Hmph. Premenstrual and all my femme fatale-era smell sickly.

Opted for Chloe Love Story, mu ultimate go-to gentle floral pick-me-up. Feel a smidgen better.

I have picked out a dress to wear tonight but it requires Spanx underneath to look half decent. Spanx in this icky London humidity. Grrrr.

Pass me the Bandit!

ThreeForAPound · 27/05/2017 14:38

femme fatale-ers

MrsCocoa · 27/05/2017 15:26

How about Evil Max for mean moods? Making it my SotD Angry!

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 15:28

Is there one called "Peri menopausal mess"?? 🤔😔

MrsCocoa · 27/05/2017 19:39

Ah! Badders! Beaufort have that nailed already: blood - check! Tears - check! Sweat - check! All at sea - check! No idea why they called it 1805 rather than 'Eau de Perimenopause' ?

MrsCocoa · 27/05/2017 19:47

Just on the 4160 Max's , had always assumed Maxed Out and Evil Max were inspired by two different Max's - anyone know? Having sniffed both perfumes side by side they have quite a lot in common especially that almost bleachy lime and tobacco note? Evil Max is the easier to wear; I fear, on the wrong side of 40, dissolute is quite hard to rock.

OCSockOrphanage · 27/05/2017 19:58

1805 was Trafalgar, the Navy's great victory. 21/10/1805. Napoleon's fleet was destroyed.

OCSockOrphanage · 27/05/2017 19:59

It must have smelled appalling.

Judydreamsofhorses · 27/05/2017 20:20

SOTD was Sel Marin again for lunch out on a sunny Saturday. Now in pyjamas after a lovely bath and smelling of Chanel 19 for going to bed in clean sheets.

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 20:26

In trying to cheer myself up I've bid on some vintage yardley and lace 😁

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 20:31

Just had a bath and put some lipstick rose on for bedtime

Badders123 · 27/05/2017 21:57

Oooh! Won the white satin!
