I've just won more nightmusk from eBay 😁👍
Sotd will be avon soft musk....ds1 has an awards night at school tonight so will need to decide what to wear for that...hmmm...decisions, decisions....

papersmile · 29/06/2017 08:10

MrsMartell - I've always liked similar notes in perfume too, although I didn't realise it until I started investigating a bit more. I still like my 'old' choices but a few are too reminiscent of a certain time of life to wear now.

Mrs Cocoa - Youth Dew was my mum's perfume. It always smelt like distilled Coca Cola to me.

My evil fragrance twin would love sharp green perfumes, or super sweet.

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 08:15

My mum wears youth dew now.
It was opium when I was younger
Maybe thats the reason I dont wear them?? I really like them but...just too many associations I guess...

MrsCocoa · 29/06/2017 08:35

Ah, Paper - I might be half way to being your EFT - I really like lots of very green things (esp old school dry chypres).

Auldspinster · 29/06/2017 09:07

Sotd is Vogue, the Milton Lloyd Chanel No.5 dupe.

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 09:10

Another reason I don't feel like a proper perfumista!...i don't like any chanel either...

Auldspinster · 29/06/2017 09:13

I'm not a huge Chanel fan which is why i have the knock off versions rather than the originals.

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 09:19

There are so few scents I like...so many of my faves are now discontinued 😡

Puppylucky · 29/06/2017 10:20

I think that my tastes have stayed consistent in terms of style if not specific notes. I have always been attracted to "big" fragrances that feel warm and cosy for the comfort factor. In my 80's youth that translated to Lou Lou and Eden and now I adore Truth or Dare ( Fracas knock off) Ange Ou Demon and Addict. I keep trying chypres in the hope I will find a green scent that I love but a lot of them just feel cold to me. I would love a soft herby green scent - maybe based on pettigrain as I have tried that scent in a shower gel and loved it.

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 10:24

I keep looking at truth or dare...sounds fab

papersmile · 29/06/2017 11:00

MrsCocoa - what perfumes do you like/dislike? I'll have a try a few on your 'hate' list.

I like/or have liked Dune, Cerutti 1881, Coco, Coco Noir, Miller Harris La Pluie, Bronze Goddess and my everyday is Eau Dynamisante

The greenest I have gone is O de Lancome.

Auldspinster · 29/06/2017 12:37

puppylucky Herba Fresca is a lovely fresh minty scent as the name suggests.

HysterectomyHysteria · 29/06/2017 16:01

I have been having a sniff around my local shopping centre for a cheap as chips summer perfume that I can spray around with abandon and I came across Beyoncé Heat Kissed. Its actually a lovely summer scent and only 12.99 for 100ml. I haven't really smelt any celebrity perfumes previously as I assumed that they would all be 'pink mingers' but I have been pleasantly surprised today.
Anyone else tried Heat Kissed?

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 16:15

I think the Beyonce perfumes are very popular. And jlo. And.of course sjp.
People never thought celeb scents would work...then Elizabeth Taylor came along in the 80s and proved them wrong...

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 16:37

Nightmusk for me tonight.
I feel rubbish so need some comfort

HysterectomyHysteria · 29/06/2017 17:05

Mrs, I have Elizabeth Taylor Passion and love it but it's a bit too much in the summer. 😀

HysterectomyHysteria · 29/06/2017 17:07

Sorry you aren't feeling great Mrsm. Flowers

ThreeForAPound · 29/06/2017 17:12

Today has been a good perfume day Grin.

I impulse bought a 30ml bottle of YSL Paris EDT a while back. I don't know why, really. I hated it back in the day - thought it was too sweet - and it was my best friend at school's 'signature scent' (being a very classy 15 yr old!), so I couldn't clash with her anyway.

Anyhow...tried it out last night before bed and it was so much nicer and somehow more sophisticated and less sweet than I remembered. Slightly more dry and smoky. Wore it today at work and decided I love it. Who'd have thought? Never saw myself as a Paris lover at all. Now searching up the vintage eau de parfum on Ebay Grin.

But the best bit mrsmartell08 is that my ET Diamonds & Rubies turned up today! It was waiting for me when I got home and...I absolutely LOVE it! Couldn't resist scrubbing the Paris off one wrist for a cheeky spray of the D&R, and it is just divine. I cannot believe 100mls for a tenner, too! Thank you so much for the heads up. Its dreamy...

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 17:36

Oh I'm so glad you like it!! For the price it's amazing isn't it?? ❤
Thanks hysteria...off to ds1s awards evening which I was really looking forward to...now I just want to get back to bed 😣
I may have to revisit Paris....HATED it as a teen...

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 17:37

I think ET passion might be my next purchase...

ThreeForAPound · 29/06/2017 19:01

Oh its amazing! @ mrsmartell08. Perfect powdery floral (but not too floral) deliciousness. Makes me yearn for this Sun Moon Stars vintage you speak of! Grin

Whats Passion supposed to be like?

Paris is a revelation. See what you think. It grew on me (literally) overnight. It is now a definite love affair!

Dlpdep · 29/06/2017 19:55

Today has also been a good perfume day for me. I finally succumbed to Bronze Goddess. I had a voucher so it would have been a sin not to. Off on my holiers tomorrow so bringing it with me. Doesn't last very long is my only gripe.

I was also gifted a bottle of Orla Kiely Orange and Caraway body mist. I really really like it. I am going through a bit of a citrusy moment right now, and eau de merveilles is on my duty free list. But I find that citrusy perfumes can be a bit synthetic and sweet. This is just lovely, the caraway really comes through and cuts it.

Dlpdep · 29/06/2017 19:57

On the sleb perfumes - some of celine dion's are quite nice. I asked a friend what she was wearing before and it was a feline dion. Couldn't tell you which one!

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 20:00

Back from awards night...ds1 got 7 awards and the science cup!!
I'm so proud
(Yes i cried)
I must track some Paris down...🐏
If you like ET D&R you will LOVE sun moon stars 😁

Mrsmartell08 · 29/06/2017 20:24

Three...worth noting that sun moon stars, ET D&R and Paris are all by the great Sophia grosjman 😁
