In fact I might wear it to bed...

ThreeForAPound · 07/06/2017 18:22

I'm wearing another one of my new Notino samples today - J'Adore. Cant believe I've never bothered with t before. Its lovely.

FloofyCat · 07/06/2017 19:33

MrsC I have no idea why I don't recollect your comparison of Seville and Dirty Honey Blush Thank you and green for repeating yourself for me Grin

Deathray have you been seduced over here by the perfume stories thread? as I don't recall your name but clearly my memory is not what it was! If you are indeed a delurker, welcome! If you like the Soap and Glory sugar one (my DD loves it too) do you like Creed Virgin Island Water? Heavenly!

Vintage oh yes the crushed velvet and black lace. Possibly lots and lots some Rimmel black eyeliner, Harmony hair dye and the overpowering scent of patchouli and joss sticks. Actually that kind of sounds like me now Grin

Yes, it's hard to know what to select for tomorrow's SOTD (without wishing to derail our lovely thread into another election argy bargy). I have been eyeing up a lovely vintage Russian perfume which just might possibly be left wing enough for me Wink Surely our shared love of perfume will overcome any political differences

I can't remember who was after Y (was it you vintage? Damn my terrible memory) but a bottle has just been reduced on eBay

I am in Invisible Ben at the moment, gosh I love this so much! I am reluctantly about to have a shower and apply L'Aimant for bedtime. Yes I am a very early to bed person Blush

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 19:43

Love l'aimant 😍
No idea what I shall wear tomorrow - something comforting I think

MrsCocoa · 07/06/2017 21:09

Don't worry Floofy - wasn't very memorable (and it was me after the Y YSL - thanks).

Have tomorrow cracked I think - how about 4160's Be Careful What You Wish For? (A fabulous fruit oud).

Judydreamsofhorses · 07/06/2017 21:20

Back in L'Air de Rien today. Tomorrow for voting will be Chanel 19, I think.

Dlpdep · 08/06/2017 00:19

Do you know how you can get those monthly boxes of shite cosmetics and whatnot, is there the same kind of thing for perfume? Is it a subscription box you call them?

MrsCocoa · 08/06/2017 06:02

Have a look at The Perfume Society Dipdep.

Badders123 · 08/06/2017 07:19

I am staying off the test of mn today and hiding in here with you guys...is that Ok?
Horrid grey rainy day here so knowing it is again....i might be able to wear some of my summer scents soon!!

Puppylucky · 08/06/2017 08:07

Hello!
First time poster long term lurker Smile

I love this thread (and its predecessors!) and have discovered some beautiful new fragrances from it - so its the first place I thought of when I came across this fragrance poser.

I have recently bought some decants of Dior Addict from Ebay from two different sellers. In one set of decants the liquid is a pale straw colour and smells divine. The other set (which is pre 2012 formulation - apparently the definitive Addict) has a dark amber liquid.

The fragrance from the dark amber liquid is fainter and the dry down is slightly more sickly. So my question is - does anyone know if the dark amber liquid is just the natural colour of the 2012 formulation - in which case I don't like it and won't bother spending more on it again (it's pricey compared to the latest version) - or have I got decants of perfume that has actually turned? In which case I will take it up with the seller.

Hope that all makes sense !!

PL

Sotd is herba fresca which is a bit fresh and summery for a very dull overcast day.

VintagePerfumista · 08/06/2017 09:12

I am in Jade and daren't look at the rest of MN because I get all bishyboshy keyboard warrier and then think "why did I even waste 2 minutes of my life arguing with mince" Blush

I have been outbid (but it still runs till Sunday on an EdP of vintage RG from a German seller. Anyone else watching it? It started at ONE euro for 60ml left of 100 so I quickly whacked a bid on in case I forgot it.

Might still bid for the EdS from Germany which has 90 mins to run.

Welcome on over Deathray!

ThreeForAPound · 08/06/2017 09:13

I tried a sample of Balenciaga Rosabotanica this morning and had to scrub it off. Incense-ey floral - not in the mood.

Wearing my trusty EL Pleasures Intense instead...and off to vote Grin

Badders123 · 08/06/2017 09:17

Well...
Voted
Polls are busy
I am going to spend today listening to uplifting music and watching the thick of it and trying to laugh
Love to all x

OCSockOrphanage · 08/06/2017 10:25

I have chosen MMM Untitled for election day. In view of the weather, I think it should have been Angelique sous la Pluie, except a) it's the Emperor's new clothes and b) it's all gone and not been replaced.

GreenPolishToGo · 08/06/2017 11:33

Careful What You Wish For is an inspired choice MrsC. I shall emulate you and fish out my sample to vote this afternoon. My eldest will be voting in her first election so we will trot down to the polling station together (both fragranced 'natch).

Dlpdep there's also Discovery Club, which has a quarterly subscription service.

Hello puppy. Judging by this thread on Fragrantica your samples are likely to be authentic. The old and the reformulated versions of Addict sound so different they could be different perfumes. Perfume that's gone off smells like burnt alcohol, I've found. DD has the modern version of Addict and loves it.

Chanel 19 for voting, although I won't be going until after work.

VintagePerfumista · 08/06/2017 13:27

Won the EdS from the German ebayer. Grin

Badders123 · 08/06/2017 13:29

😁👍

FloofyCat · 08/06/2017 16:08

Careful what you wish for is genius. I am wearing L'Air du Temps and hoping for better times...probably uselessly!

I had a hospital appointment this morning (prior to voting of course) and sat between an elderly lady wearing L'Aimant and another woman wearing Jimmy Choo. Our row of seats smelt lovely!

Green how exiting having a DC old enough to vote - one of mine has just missed out and is very disappointed. They have been leafleting for me though (re: school cuts, cuts to SN funding/transport) so they have been doing their bit Smile

Puppy I don't know about that one I'm afraid but welcome - the more fragranistas, the merrier! I do think this is one of the friendliest and just cosiest threads on MN - maybe we should all join up and start The Perfume Party? I'm thinking political rather than sausage rolls and dancing...although that actually sounds pretty good too Grin

Sending good thoughts to everyone...

Calminaqualm · 08/06/2017 22:08

I couldn't think if anything more appropriate to wear today than Be Careful What You Wish For, MrsCocoa. What a brilliant suggestion!

But I'm thinking about what to wear tomorrow. Will it be Burberry Brit Red (refreshing, different and complex with a touch of rhubarb), or Shay & Blue Blood Oranges (feminine and strong with more than a hint of leather) or perhaps it will be 4160Tuesday's Who Knew? (long-lasting and non-sweet)?

Puppylucky · 08/06/2017 22:30

Hello all thank you for the warm and
beautifully scented welcome Smile
That info from fragrantica is really useful and at least I know now all my Addict is genuine - even if it all smells completely different.
Not sure what to wear today - I am quite bored with my selection at the moment - maybe something innocuous like Versace - sweet and flowery and almost certainly too young for me

MrsCocoa · 08/06/2017 22:46

Floofy - break out those sausage rolls. It's going to be a long night....

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 08/06/2017 22:48

Maybe c Jacobs Honey today. I just love how I sizzle with freshness when I spritz it on!!

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 08/06/2017 22:48

MARC!!! Fat fingers!!!!😳
