We can do it!!!

I'm sat here sniffing my arm...its lovely

Badders123 · 06/06/2017 16:37

Truth or dare is one I want to try but of course it's discontinued now...

Deathraystare · 06/06/2017 16:58

Hey Peeps - some of the old favourites occasionally crop up in Beauty Base. Some of the old Lentheric ones where there the other day. I think Truth and Dare was as well as GaGa's one.

I am still trying to find Yardley's Jade that some of you have mentioned so may look this week in Boots. I have already searched Beauty Base.

Auldspinster · 06/06/2017 17:32

Deathraystare Jade was on offer in Boots last Thursday, I got a bottle for £13.

Badders123 · 06/06/2017 17:51

I've seen some jade on eBay for £1.75....

tobee · 06/06/2017 18:16

Does anyone wear Clinique Beyond Rose? It smells terrible on a bit of card tester strip but it settles quickly on my skin and I really like the way it develops. I keep forgetting about it! It's great.

Judydreamsofhorses · 06/06/2017 18:22

Pissing it down here, all day, and cold, so SOTD was L'Air de Rien.

ThreeForAPound · 06/06/2017 23:19

Badders have you ever managed to get some 'vintage' Sun Moon Stars on Ebay? I saw a supposed 50ml for £20 today...looked like original bottle and seller had positive feedback going back years.

I've become semi-obsessed with it following your reviews and Fragrantica luuurve...

SOTD was soapy Philosophy Inner Grace because I was nauseous and didn't want real perfume today. Switched to V&R Bonbon tonight to set it out in public, social situations and not just at home. Yes...its sweet and pink...but much nicer than cloying Flowerbomb. Less gourmand, more fruity amber. Decent, if not love.

ThreeForAPound · 06/06/2017 23:19

test it out

ThreeForAPound · 06/06/2017 23:20

tobee - never tried that but like rose fragrances...must try!

MrsCocoa · 06/06/2017 23:24

Floofy I tried Seville a L'Aube and Dirty Honey side by side on the last thread: DH is dirtier and cozier. Beeswax and a floral dark runny honey with soporific vanilla/woods. Seville is brighter; an unusually long lasting soapy/waxy citrus and nuclear orange blossom.

Green - rose and galbanum sounds a classic combination: No.19, Ivoire, Fidgi, Jacomo Silences, Lancome Sikkim etc etc? I'm getting excited now - and will be fighting you to get to the bottle of galbanum. I spent happy hours on Fragrantica before I did the last workshop working out the top, heart and base notes that recur most frequently in my favourites broken down by group on a spreadsheet Smile. Geeky - but helped narrow the choices a bit on the day.

Still places available - pm Green or me if you're interested in joining us.

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 07:17

No idea what sotd will be
I'm in a vile temper but at least it's not raining!

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 07:30

50ml for £20 is great!

Auldspinster · 07/06/2017 07:54

I thought i'd posted earlier but it isn't showing up - SOTD is Y on a dry but cold Edinburgh morning.

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 08:00

I've finished the LC book and I feel ridiculously happy that he gives all my favourites 4 or 5 stars 😁👍
I don't agree with him about angel (which he likes) but he is spot on re Tom Ford and jo Malone imo
Still not decided on sotd
What are we all wearing to vote tomorrow (those of us in the uk)?
I'm struggling to find a scent that conjures up what I'm feeling about it all 😔

MrsCocoa · 07/06/2017 08:37

Passage d'Enfer Badders?

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 09:03

I got ds2 to choose my sotd as I just couldn't decide
He chose knowing
😁

VintagePerfumista · 07/06/2017 09:56

What does he say about Tom Ford and Jo Malone? Does he agree with me about the Emperor's new clothes? Grin

Still in Rive Gauche but the 3ml PP is finishing. When I hit the UK for the summer am definitely going for a PP full bottle of spray.

Floofy- that is SO what I do- zoom in on old photos and look at shelves. Me and my uni friends are forever losing entire afternoons going "what is that orange lidded bottle second from the left behind the wash powder?"

I used the Natrel deodorant- an orange lidded one. Sometimes I smell its notes in a perfume and go hurtling back to 89. (the photo of my open wardrobe door in 89 reveals ta-da Rive Gauche, Natrel deodorant and M&S kukui body cream, Body Shop Vit E cream and elderflower eye gel, Almay "Rachel" foundation and Charles of the Ritz loose powder) The clothes are resolutely black, red or purple and there is lots of lace and crushed velvet. Grin

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 10:03

Very much so!

Deathraystare · 07/06/2017 10:15

I am amazed at the interest in Sun Moon and Stars. Was very underwhelmed by it.I got it ages ago and (turn your heads away if you love this perfume) I chucked it!!! I believe I got it from half price perfumes but have seen it in in Beauty Base.

Deathraystare · 07/06/2017 10:19

After all the brilliant (I think so anyway) perfumes I mentioned on the perfume history thread I am afraid I am wearing Soap and Glory Crush (the sugar and lime one) I love the smell of lime. Yes the spray is very sweet but thank god the lime cuts into it! It is just a small bottle for work. Easy to carry around.

Deathraystare · 07/06/2017 10:36

Keep trying to look at the Boots site for Yardley Jade but the blasted site has been playing up for the past I do not know how many days!

GreenPolishToGo · 07/06/2017 17:26

Hmm, well, as no one has yet named a perfume: "Why are we cursed with this shower of useless wallies?" I'll make it something innocuous like Poison Wink for Polling Day.

So Lace is by the creator of Portrait of a Lady...I reckon you just sold it to me Badders!

Nothing wrong with Soap and Glory, Deathray. I love the shower gel. It smells good enough to eat.

Floofy MrsC is always streets ahead when it comes to notes so I'll just say Dirty Honey and Seville à 'l'aube are definitely sufficiently different to warrant having both (if you like them - and I do!).

SOTD is the heavenly Oriane (full name Oriane's Cyclamen) from 4160 Tuesdays Proust Perfumes. It is such a beautifully powdery and subtle floral, and I think it is my current favourite from 4160 - so it's beaten a lot of stiff competition.

It is indeed green!
Im On a perfume buying ban for the rest of the month....

Badders123 · 07/06/2017 17:36

I got my lace for £3.99 on eBay
It's so worth it
