Thought I'd start a nostalgic thread about products from the past, after being reminded about Timotei. Used to lose that stuff. They had great commercials too. VO5 apparently doesn't exist in shops like it used to.

I think the most iconic commercial was the flake in the bath one, where it overflows.

Yes I had those ballet shoes, in fact I think my mum still has them in her wardrobe! And Pretty Peach perfume and handbream the lids looked like a wee peaches, innocent days. Avon still do Skin So Soft range which is meant to be great for keeping mossies and midges away

Hedgehog80 · 30/03/2017 22:12

I still have my little blossom lip balm from when I was about 3/4 (I'm 35 now) its in my bedside drawer and I often get it out as it still smells the same and I love it ! Tube is a bit battered now and there's not much lip balm left !!

Avon apple shaped soaps
lux
I loved flex shampoo too
Dewberry scented stuff from the body shop, personally I hated the smell
Paloma Picasso perfume
Sinergy (sp) face wash

Rastel38 · 30/03/2017 23:16

Lipcôte - made your lips sting but your lippy stayed perfect.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 30/03/2017 23:19

I loved the Vidal Sassoon shampoo. You got three things in the range - shampoo , conditioner and some kind of rinse.

goingtotown · 30/03/2017 23:39

Boots sell Lipcote.

Longdistance · 30/03/2017 23:49

Coty's Exclamation! Apparently they still sell it. I had a bottle 25 years ago.

Used to like these hair curlers that had a bottle of spray to hold the curls in. It smelt divine, think it was called Papiloton(?) not sure. It was when perms were all the rage.

Rizzledizzle · 31/03/2017 01:42

Cleopatra Soap - blue and gold packaging and seemed so luxurious at the time.

mintmagnummm · 31/03/2017 06:53

My mum loved Vidal Sassoon shampoo and conditioner and hasn't found anything she likes since!
I loved the revlon ones in a black bottle!

Also revlon used to do a foundation called complexion something I think which I loved!

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 31/03/2017 08:01

Boots used to do a brilliant leave-in conditioner with calendula in the late 90s. My soap-dodger boyfriend called it pansy spray, but it made his waist-length hair so soft and shiny.

Therealslimshady1 · 31/03/2017 08:12

I remember e eryone using a white crayon to colour the tips of the nails white from underneath

Every time you wash your hands you would have to reapply Hmm

But remember seeing lots of women on the tube with those crayons doing their nails in the early 90s

ladylunchalot1 · 31/03/2017 08:27

Salon selectives shampoos and conditioners in the pink bottles I loved them and the smell I can almost smell it now it takes me back to my teens

Twiterati · 31/03/2017 09:47

AquaManda!

WhatchaMaCalllit · 31/03/2017 12:02

Thought of another - the perfume 4711 was the scent of my childhood. Everyone was wearing it until the Body Shop Dewberry was discovered...

I can't imagine what it must have been like to walk into a classroom of all girls all wearing the same perfume....

HelsinkiLights · 31/03/2017 18:41

I miss Cosmetics-To-Go, it was way better than Lush.

Propolis · 31/03/2017 20:32

Yardley "You're the Fire" perfume was gorgeous.

FairytalesAreBullshit · 01/04/2017 18:58

I went into town to look for the original Vosene, not Boots nor Superdrug had any in. Went for a new one on offer that smells of apples. But it was the salicylate acid I think that made Vosene so good on dandruff.

I saw some Astral on offer in Superdrug. A lonesome perming kit too.

I loved wash and go so much.

Reminscing whilst listening to 80's music.

Belles de Ricci!! I ADORED this fragrance but was discontinued in this country years ago and other countries a couple of years ago. This is still my all time favourite fragrance I have ever smelt!

*If anyone has even a tiny tiny bottle of this left, and wish to sell it I will happily pay generously!! Grin

Rimmel Twilight Teaser lipstick a sort of frosted lilac colour
I once got a big box of Cover Girl makeup and used the concealer as foundation by just colouring in my face
White Satin perfume
YYardley Lace perfume
Green hair gel in tubs that looked like Swarfega

HectorAndKiki · 01/04/2017 21:56

Thought of another - "Liberty" perfume from the early 80's. I would drench myself in it!

bionicant · 01/04/2017 22:01

boots used to do a range of soaps etc that were collectable, not natural collection but something like that.. can't remember ! This was in the early 80s

jelliedeel · 01/04/2017 22:05

Rizzle - I remember Cleopatra soap and am happy to find it on Amazon! Different packaging but reviews say same smell. Now to find some LOreal Nouriance shampoo and conditioner in the dark brown bottles.

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 01/04/2017 22:15

Wash n Go shampoo in the green bottle

Dimensions shampoo I think it came in a blue & purple bottle. It made my wavy hair really curly, almost like cork screw curls.

ChocolateSherberts2017 · 01/04/2017 22:17

Rimmel Black Cherry lipstick
