Join us to talk all things fashion and beauty. The clocks go forward next Sunday (who's bright idea was it to organise that on Mother's Day?!). Longer days and hopefully some sunshine - we're dying to get our ankles out.
All welcome :)

Fairy yes I am a Blue Autumn - look best in teal, marine blue, olive etc. Have you had HoC analysis done?

Blingy you have to update us - your jewellery always, always turns up though so fingers crossed you don't have to stress for too long.

An easy day sounds lovely One.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/03/2017 13:59

Hi all

QueenC hope DD is improving?

Blingy I am keeping everything crossed that you find it asap! Glad the Aquazzuras are nice though.

One be gentle on yourself, you've had so much going on. Hope the deliveries are exciting ones.

I am going to France next week with DH's family and I need to pack uber light because 5 of us are driving down in a 3 door car! We're going for 5 nights. Was thinking 1 pair of jeans (skinnies), 1 pair of shoes (Stans) and 1 jacket (khaki army jacket) plus lots of layering tops. The weather is supposed to be nice. Any ideas for other super-versatile items I could take? (Accessories Grin?)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 29/03/2017 14:00

Oh and this zip up charcoal hoodie.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/03/2017 16:45

thank you all. sometimes just having a day out of the loop and not really doing anything is what i need. my anxiety has really been getting on top of me lately and i've really been struggling to do pretty normal things. I'm waiting for a consult about possibly changing some of my medication to try and ease of the worst of the anxiety but no appointment as yet so just have to keep waiting

OOTD has been dark grey distressed skinnies, a grey tee with a pattern changing sequin picture on it, it changes from Mario to Princess peach and a light grey cotton and cashmere mix cardigan

Wonder if the weather is going to live up to expectation tomorrow, all reports are saying is going to be warm and sunny, at least 20 degrees but we will see!

Gingham fans, I impulse bought this today. It's really cute. Will be good with cropped jeans and stans, I think.

DryWhiteagainW · 29/03/2017 21:21

Amber that's the top ibought and returned after DS said "bloody hell Mum if you didn't have me you'd dress like a 50yr old" SadSad I love it but it looked rubbish on me. You'll rock it because you're younger and far cooler than me ....not giving up on hunt for gingham b and w top though.

Blingy good grief that's terrible news....think you have a sleigh bed (?) have you taken mattress off and looked right under the slats? Such a pretty braceletstried on at MU

QieenC hope DDgets better and that you and DH sort child care out , it's a pitta

libertydoddle · 30/03/2017 08:45

What a gorgeous morning! I've let DD wear her summer uniform dress.

My OOTD is Me & Em bright orange a line shift dress, Uniqlo olive merino cardigan, tan brogues, trench coat.

AmberNectarine · 30/03/2017 09:15

Dry I think because a top this pretty and girly needs to be roughed up a bit, whereas you're very classic. I'm wearing it today with ripped, black 7FAM girlfriend jeans, stans, my black Rockstud bracelet, black leather biker and my leopard YSL bag. I heard a great style quote the other day: 'make it perfect, then fuck it up a little' - I think that applies here!

Hope you're all well on this sunny day - I'm off to spend the day with my mum as I wasn't able to spend much time with her at the weekend!

DryWhiteagainW · 30/03/2017 19:00

Good point Amber, you're right and have made me feel much better Smile

libertydoddle · 31/03/2017 09:25

Forgot to say yesterday I really like that grey hoody Blair and for France your packing sounds great but i think I'd be tempted to try and squeeze in a dress just for another option. How is your sister getting on?

OOTD Toast denim midi, Uniqlo green and cream stripe T-shirt, Ines for Uniqlo olive knitted jacket, green Puma Suedes. Very happy with this look!

queencerulean · 31/03/2017 10:46

Hi all, thanks for all asking about dd. Luckily she has been fine since starting her 2nd lots of abs and we managed to get her back to school the following day. I just feel like I've spent the whole week chasing my tail and am exhausted. Can't wait for the weekend!

blingy have you found the bracelet?
blair how warm will it be? You may want a dress like lib said or cropped jeans/trousers too.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/03/2017 16:01

The weekend is (almost) here Queenc! Glad DD is feeling better.

Thanks for packing tips, I think I'm going to take my straight jeans instead as it will be nice to have bare ankles in the sun, and a navy ribbed cotton maxi dress that looks ok over a t-shirt. :)

My sister is doing well thanks Lib, baby is 1 week old and so gorgeous! I'll be seeing them again on sunday as we have a family party.

Dry have you been wearing your new belt? :)

libertydoddle · 01/04/2017 11:32

What a gorgeous day! In back garden soaking up the sun. Quiet weekend planned.

Dreamqueen · 01/04/2017 11:47

Glad that DD is on the mend QueenC.

Your packing list sounds perfect Blair

Matalan is not one of my usual shops but bought this denim dress this morning. I think it will be useful for Spring either with Stans or Pistols. Also bought a few cheap & cheerful bikinis for summer hols. I don't like paying big £££s for swimwear. No matter whether I buy cheap or expensive, swimwear doesn't seem to last long. I think a combination of chlorine & seawater makes it lose its elasticity.

Longislandicetee · 01/04/2017 17:27

Hi everyone! Gosh it's been quiet here this week.

My week has been so so busy. I did my first bit of work travel, didn't go very far, and have been under the cosh because a new role came up at work and i took a shot at getting it. I won't get it, because it's not compatible with the roles i am already doing but i feel good that i gave it a good shot and it will help me get other roles in the future. For those in the know, long story but it's the role I was interested in last summer!Grin

Also is the last 2 weeks of term at everyone else's school always nuts?!

So my bracelet remains missing, but to be fair i haven't been around to have a proper look for it, so that's tomorrow's job.Sad Dh is being quite calm actually because it's not like i took it anyway. I literally don't know how it disappeared off the bed and the dcs are denying all knowledge.

Dh and i went to a classical music concert last night. Was absolutely glorious to hear a full orchestra for the first time in a long time. I wore this sparkly Ted Baker top and the Chloe tapered trousers that Lara recommended a few months ago and sparkly R&B shoes. Felt like such a good outfit for the occasion.

I have actually been shopping today, which is now i am in bed recovering. It was girl time with dd and i am absolutely shattered. It's fair to say that the apple didn't drop far from mummy's tree.Hmm Hope you have all had similarly productive Saturdays!

DryWhiteagainW · 01/04/2017 18:31

Bough some Top Shop Jamie high waisted skinnies yesterday in black inspired by Blair at Mu, and no I haven't worn my belt yet wore them today with last year's TS blue super soft chambray shirt and grey gazelles DReam after our convo at MU, not v exciting but so comfy.

Out tonight for dr inks and food.
I'm thinking jeans, white broderie blouse I wore to MU and red killer but beautiful shoes from Boden that I should bin because walking and standing in them is a bit of a problem Grin. Red nails and lip. Perhaps my Reiss fitted black blazer, and Rebecca Minkoff tan clutch for a change.

Shop using your NArs eye shadows, love them so much.

Longislandicetee · 01/04/2017 20:28

Loved the top Dry.

Dd decided she's into cold shoulder tops. We so have different tastes! But she looks fab in it as she's long waisted and has long legs. She's genetically mine.Shock

Just be drooling over this Moschino dress which I think is lovely.

libertydoddle · 01/04/2017 21:22

That dress would be lovely on you Blingy.

I am feeling lousy. Really tired and can't shake it off and keep getting headaches, dizzy spells etc. Decided i need to see my GP but first available apt is 12th April.

Longislandicetee · 01/04/2017 21:26

Oh you poor poor thing Lib. Does your gp not have walk in at all?

MarshaBrady · 01/04/2017 21:26

I love that dress Blingy

Oh no Lib you poor thing, April 12 is too far away to wait! I hope you feel better very soon

Such nice weather, even better tomorrow apparently

DryWhiteagainW · 01/04/2017 23:03

Ouch........

Fairylane · 02/04/2017 06:08

Amber, love your top and how you have styled it. I’d be tempted to buy it myself, but I know it would not suit me.

Blingy, your classical performance outfit sounds perfect. And Moschino dress is gorgeous.

Lib, I am autumn but have never had HoC analysis done. I’m certain I am deep autumn. I have the same colouring as my mother and we have come to the same conclusion as each other. I can wear teal (just) but am better in burnt orange, tobacco or dark earth brown, khaki, dark navy, charcoal etc.

After lusting after this bag for years, it arrived this week. I really can’t decide whether to keep it or not. I am short, so it is a good size and I like the shoulder strap. What do you all think? I have a black Bayswater that has seen better days and I am really after a replacement for it – ie all-rounder black bag I can use for work (corporate office) and weekends (kids activities, errands etc).

I’ve never bought shoes second hand before but these such a good prices I decided to try denim and brown leather, my favourite ballerinas, and these GRs.

I saw the suede GRs in the same colour with a block heel last year but bought navy version instead.

Also got a denim dress from the Outnet but had it delivered at work and no time to try it on yet!

Think I am buying too much at the moment. Going to Marie Kondo my clothes and self-impose a spending ban for the rest of April.

queencerulean · 02/04/2017 12:30

What's your concerns about the bag fairy? You don't sound utterly convinced by it.
blingy not sure about the dress with the bow with your ample boobs
dry you really need to replace those red shoes!
amber the quote about fucking it up a bit is so you.

I went shopping for last minute holiday bits yesterday and ended up buying 2 jackets and a top Grin

utility jacket. I would never have though of trying this style but my colour consultant suggested a similar one from French connection which didn't work for me as you need to be about 10ft tall to carry it off.

queencerulean · 02/04/2017 12:33

I vaguely had it in my head that I'd try a denim jacket this year as I want to wear more dresses (which I don't yet have!). Trouble is they are often too boxy/masculine. As soon as I saw this one I knew it would be perfect as it doesn't have chest pockets and being slightly fitted it's more feminine. Will also wear it for work with trousers.
