Join us to talk all things fashion and beauty. The clocks go forward next Sunday (who's bright idea was it to organise that on Mother's Day?!). Longer days and hopefully some sunshine - we're dying to get our ankles out.
All welcome :)

Portugal....can't wait! Need to get sunshine on my skin and Gigis on.

Shop that's really lovely of your parents and well deserved too btw.

Liberty love the Coast. Like Shop I always used to go full length, but more recently have gone cocktail no help am I ?

Actually love S Hughes now but why isn't anyone listening to her?

queencerulean · 19/05/2017 09:05

dry are you going in half term?
lib I can see why you haven't found anything you like. There's not a lot out there.

Vomiting girl continued through the night so have had to cancel hairdresser and eyebrow shape . Today will be painful as hardly had any sleep.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 19/05/2017 09:39

Sorry I am just rushing through but Lib next clearance might be worth a browse for something. They have quite a few brands so worth trawling through. Or wear the Coast one again, I would be reluctant to spend for a one off...though I like the one you have ordered too Smile

libertydoddle · 19/05/2017 09:57

Thanks all. I check out Next clearance Bernice.

QueenC there is very little around especially when I filter out all the black! I really like the Reiss one you linked but it's a bit short for me, I like to keep my knees covered so only go above knee on holiday or with opaques.

The sensible approach would definitely be the Coast one...

shopafrolic · 19/05/2017 11:31

Levis tee is here - will report back

Help. Obviously having a mid mid life crisis. Went mad in Superdrug today and bought loads of makeup I'll probably never wear. For some reason thought false eyelashes were the way to go!!!Grin. Save me from myself

shopafrolic · 19/05/2017 18:11

LOL Dream I love a beauty splurge. What else did you get?
I bought the Pixi Caroline Hirons double cleanser yesterday - will report back. Also bought an amazing Cosmetics concealer..... I have such dark circles under my eyes - hoping this will help.
So I sent a pic to a few of the girls of me in Levi's tee, 501 skinnies and my new white boots and the feedback is good. Happy Shop

Shop. I bought countour stuff, strobing and baking products plus new foundation etc products. Luckily I wasn't 100% so only bought budget price products. In the cold light of post purchase, I realise that I'm 30 years too old for most of the stuff o bought. Plus false eyelashes are completely wasted on a glasses wearing person.

Went out to dinner tonight fully contoured, strobed ( trying natural as opposed to my favourite drag queen look)etc etc following YouTube videos and mr dream said didn't you put any makeup on???? -WTF

shopafrolic · 20/05/2017 08:39

Morning Voguettes
That just means you applied your make up perfectly Dream Wink
The Caroline / Pixi double cleanse is just brilliant - highly recommend - took off every single trace of make up including eye make up which usually reappears on my face when I wake up. Highly recommend.
Have a lovely weekend all :)

That's very kind of you to say Shop
Looked at the Pixi double please, was tempted but I have loads of Ren hot cloth cleanser to wade through. Bought the Pixi glow tonic & some no VPL knickers using the M&S 20% offer. ouldn't find anything in the clothes section & usually I manage to find something. The stuff is so uninspiring at the moment in there.

Slightly hungover so not planning to move far from the sofa.

queencerulean · 20/05/2017 14:05

Wtf is strobing? Grin. dream sounds like if it looked natural you'd done it right? I'm a lazy wench when it comes to make up.

This weather is depressing. Showery again. Is summer ever going to come?
We had to cancel friends coming round tonight as dd puked again this morning which is a shame as I was really looking forward to it. Feeling really down today Sad

Longislandicetee · 20/05/2017 15:11

Oh no QueenC, is the same dd that was sick a few weeks ago? Poor thing.Flowers

I agree with you, this weather is pants. I am wearing an outfit that I didn't think i would be wearing in May - long sleeves whistles Breton top, j crew skinny jeans and a Karen Millen military biker cardigan. Looks good but still!Hmm

Dh and i are luxuriating in the fact that we have absolutely nothing to do this weekend. Happy Saturdays all!

shopafrolic · 20/05/2017 16:43

Just back from St Albans wearing my Levi's model outfit - got two comments about how great the boots are so I'm happy.
Wagamamas for lunch and then a trip to the tailor for DH to buy a couple of new suits. I picked up some shampoo and conditioner in Space NK. Then headed to Whistles to take a look at their biker jackets. Was going to wait till next month to buy but the store manager offered 20% off (their event starts next week apparently) so DH treated me to this bad boy.
QueenC poor you and poor DD. Hope she feels better soon :(

libertydoddle · 20/05/2017 18:58

Nice one shop!!! Fantastic jacket.

QueenC hope DD is better soon.

libertydoddle · 20/05/2017 19:23

dream which utube videos have you watched? I am feeling the need to up my game make up wise. I agree with shop, looking natural must mean you got it right!

libertydoddle · 20/05/2017 19:24

Oh and question for shop - what's your verdict on your Philips Lumea and your derma roller thing now that you have had both a while?

shopafrolic · 20/05/2017 20:02

Lib Phillips Lumea is good. But you need to keep up maintenance and I slacked off. Definitely works on those with dark hair and light skin.
Derma roller the jury is out. Skin felt and looked good the next day but I had a conversation with my friend who runs a medi spa and does rollering with longer needles. She said 0.5mm needles will do little to nothing and also warned me about cross contamination so I haven't used it again since.....

blingy I can't even remember which dd was ill a while a go. It seems to have been non stop lately.
I've cheered up after a few gins. I attempted cocktails but I haven't got the patience and am better just adding tonic!
Nice jacket shop

justasecond · 20/05/2017 21:06

Love the jacket shop, it's totally you! I also love the white m&s top with the frill sleeves.
I wonder if the double cleanse is available at m&s? will take a look.
Hope your dd is better soon queenc I blame the crap weather sunny and warm one minute, freezing the next.
I have a bad eye so can't wear contacts atm and am in my horrible glasses. I am very, very short sighted, the worst part is it's impossible putting make up on when I have taken my glasses off! I look awful and don't feel like leaving the house Blush I am hoping I can be back in my contacts by monday.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 20/05/2017 21:15

Oh poor you justa, I know how you feel because that was me up until last Thursday. I just try to tell myself no one can tell I'm not wearing (eye) makeup with glasses on Blush hope you feel better soon.

queen yay for gin, but hope your poor DD is on the mend.

shop bet you looked fab and love the jacket. My biker is from Whistles and the quality is just fantastic.

Had a work do yesterday - crazy golf and impromptu ping pong - so much fun. The weather had potential to be bad, so I wore dark skinnies, black Chelsea boots (in May!), grey star print t-shirt, red scarf, biker jacket and Gucci belt. (Anyone thinking of getting one... do it! It goes with every outfit and I'm so glad I got it!)

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend :)

Dreamqueen · 20/05/2017 21:34

QueenC hope Dd is feeling better now.

Great jacket Shop

Lib In Superdrug I bought loads of products from Makeup Revolution (it's really cheap) to play with & try before spending ££s on expensive stuff that I might not get on with. Makeup revolution have loads of videos on Youtube.. the one I followed for contouring last night. Watching makeup videos is very addictive. I decided that if i like the various techniques that i'm trying , I'll upgrade products. Last night I went the whole hog and fiddled with false eyelashes as well. My DIL wears them all the time, took me 3 goes to get them on..They did emphasise my eyes though.

Justa hope eye is better quickly. I must admit i love my glasses especially when I can't be bothered putting makeup on. I keep meaning to do the contact lens trial. Which ones do you use? daily or monthly?

libertydoddle · 20/05/2017 21:50

Thanks dream...off to watch...

AmberNectarine · 20/05/2017 23:05

So, today we discovered a taxidermy hawk nailed to a tree in the garden. My nephew came trotting in earnestly 'auntie Amber, there's a dead bird in your garden'. I freaked and sent DH out who returned with the offending article. Needless to say, it's in the wheelie bin. I mean, WHY?

AmberNectarine · 20/05/2017 23:11

I do contouring, strobing etc for nights out. I think it looks quite natural but you have to blend the shit out of it.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/05/2017 23:20

thats some garden find Amber and i agree, just why?!?!?!

i have never tried contouring or strobing or anything like it, i'm hard pressed to remember ive got highlighter and in fairness, i don't think i'd have the skills in my hands to actually blend it properly. I would only want to have it on if it was done right and blended to hell and if i cant do that, i'd prefer to give it a miss. in any case, my mission at the minute is just to wear basic make up as i have two big make up bags full of it and don't wear it enough to justify how much of it i have Blush
