Join us to talk all things fashion and beauty. The clocks go forward next Sunday (who's bright idea was it to organise that on Mother's Day?!). Longer days and hopefully some sunshine - we're dying to get our ankles out.
All welcome :)

Poor you Lib and omg Shop!Flowers

I am on sofa listening to Coldplay. Just done a soft play centre party for 30 kids. I may never move off the sofa again! Ootd is a sparkly Ted Baker top with Theory leather leggings.

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/05/2017 15:26

Take it easy lib and hopefully you'll feel better soon.

Hope you had a good night dry sounds like shop did Grin

My work has no official dress code but no one takes the piss, mainly because we are all a bit older. in my previous job there was a lot of very young people and I can't believe the length of some of the skirts I used to wear Shock One of my friends (many years sgo) did get pulled into her managers office for a discussion about her work clothes, think micro hot pants etc she did have a good figure but they were totally inappropriate for work, especially civil service. It is quite difficult, I guess you either need to be vague 'business casual' (what does that even mean???) or prescriptive.

The sun has finally come out this afternoon but it's still chilly in the wind. That said, DH is itching to fire up the BBQ so we might have the first one if the year tonight.

shopafrolic · 07/05/2017 17:16

God my patience with miniShop is wearing thin. Really shouldn't roll in at 1am pissed as a fart and expect any different.
Took him to the park for a kick about while DH was at the gym, I just want to sleep. How long till I can sleep?
For those who know me on FB - the ridiculous photos will show how bad it got!

Ouch Shop; hope you're feeling a little more human now.

Soft play for 30 shudders, well done Blingy.

Ootd for lunch looks great Dream. Did you have a nice meal?

Did anyone get a chance to look at the Met Gala dresses this week? I've just had a look - some fab, some wtaf? not quite so fab.
My faves are Cara Delevigne and Miranda Kerr

Also a chap wearing a green check suit looked really stylish. Can't remember who he is (maybe a rapper) & now can't find his photo as it keeps crashing

FedupNagging · 07/05/2017 19:01

Here he is, Michael B Jordan. Not a rapper at all but an actor Blush. Anyway, he looks good.

kittyhello · 07/05/2017 19:53

This came up on my Pinterest

think it's a visual version of Blair's spreadsheet!

AmberNectarine · 07/05/2017 20:35

I'm just coming off four nights out on the bounce shop. Sympathies.

Moving in a week. Need to get my shit together in an epic way.

Dreamqueen · 08/05/2017 10:11

Oh God!!! I feel incredibly rough this morning. Had a fab lunch then made the schoolgirl error of carrying on drinking at home. Prosecco (by the bucketful) does not agree with me at all. Amber I don't know how you manage so many nights out. I salute you.

Hope you're feeling better today Lib

shopafrolic · 08/05/2017 10:19

Morning all! Normal service has been resumed. Yesterday was horrific. All self inflicted Grin
The burn mark on my face is quite bad. Not quite sure what to do but am bare faced today......... Really hope I don't scar Hmm (I was sober when it happened I promise!)
The pink boots didn't sell - but I was talking to my girlfriends on Saturday night and they inspired me to try them again but to keep it simple. Will see.
I need Spring / Summer jeans so badly now it's ridiculous.
Most random post of the day (only post so far.......) apologies.
Amber you really do need to get your shit together judging by your FB post - hope you get sorted x
Have a wonderful Monday ladies! so damn cold

libertydoddle · 08/05/2017 12:03

I didn't quite register the GHD burn yesterday shop ouch!!! Might be worth asking a pharmacist for advice. Vitamin E oil.is apparently good to avoid scars but might not be a good idea if the burn still feels sore or hot.

Have you got any time off this week amber to get working on the move?

I am still feeling poorly Sad almost feel worse today than yesterday. Needed a lie down after taking a shower earlier to recover.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/05/2017 12:25

Oh no Lib sounds awful. Can you take as much time off as needed? When I was ill in Feb I carried on working and it lingered on for so long as a result.

Oh no Shop that also sounds awful! I agree might be good to get advice for how to treat it.

I have seen a pin of a lady wearing pink boots - I will see if I can unearth it for you, I think she is very pared back in the rest of her outfit.

Sun seems to be making an appearance today, finally.

We don't have a dress code at work but I tend to dress a bit smarter at work in order to differentiate from my sahm wardrobe. I am more scruffy when not working now, I think I feel I should save my nicer clothes for work Confused

I didn't get any of the Warehouse dresses Fedup - being semi good atm.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/05/2017 12:52

Shop re jeans - asos have a lot of mih jeans, may be worth ordering some to try?

At the other end of the spectrum these jeans from Next look quite good. Next can be very hit and miss though.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/05/2017 13:00

I think this is the pin

kittyhello · 08/05/2017 13:04

Gosh shop ouch on the GHD facial burn. I think the pink boots would look great with an all black outfit. The added pink for dramatic effect.

Lib please stay off work until you feel better. No-one will thank you for going in unwell. It's hard not to be a martyr to work, I went in last week when I should have taken the day off.

Dream how's the hangover now?

Well I downloaded the app so am in the process of photographing my clothes/shoes etc although hoping I can pinch some images from Pinterest. Looking forward to seeing what outfits it suggests for me from my wardrobe.

Dreamqueen · 08/05/2017 13:58

It's improving thank you Kitty DIL stayed last night & cooked a full breakfast for us earlier. That had great restorative powers. I've moved from bed to sofa. I've also downloaded that app.

Shop once your burn starts to heal, maybe bio oil would help prevent scarring. I like that outfit bernice Not selling the pink boots might be an sign Shop

kittyhello · 08/05/2017 14:30

Dream glad you're starting to feel more human Grin

That app is mildly addictive. I've found out a short cut of adding my items via Pinterest which saves a lot of time. I really should be doing other work but am always up for a distraction.

shopafrolic · 08/05/2017 14:52

Kitty will be interested to hear how things progress with the app
Blair also still holding out for your spreadsheet
Thanks for all the burn suggestions - I have some BioOil so will give that a go. It's not hot or too deep. When I went out that night you couldn't see it, but when I got home I double cleansed (still skin virtuous when pissed) and ripped the top layer off with my flannel! Idiot.
Off to look at Bernice's links

That Pin is totally making me want the silver boots again Bernice Grin

I am struggling to see the point of buying many summer clothes atm as our 'summers' are about 12 weeks. It is so cold here today Sad

Well done on your shopping restraint Bernice. Whilst looking at your jeans link, I saw this bardot top which ticks all my boxes. When I've finished stropping about the crappy weather, I may well order it.

Lib you don't sound well at all; please rest up.

Shop the burn sounds nasty. Do you have any aloe vera? - plant or tube as that's really good for buns. I burn myself a lot - kitchen and hair straighteners so always have a tube of this in the house. get through loads! It works pretty well.

Has anyone got shoes from Mango? These block heels keep popping up on the side bar adverts and I'm seriously tempted although they need to not shred my feet.

Ootd is black boden ankle zip jeans, black J Crew sheer sleeve sweatshirt, giant black & green print scarf and gazelles. Wore Gap herringbone jacket when I ventured out.

queencerulean · 08/05/2017 20:11

Gosh, what they don't tell you when you have kids is the amount of ferrying around you do. The baby phase seems a piece of piss compared to the activities/parties/play dates. Dh is away and although dp are here, they don't drive so I'm having to do everything. Anyway, whinge over. Am hoping for a little blue box when he returns, although he looked in Heathrow and they didn't have what I wanted so here's hoping the store where he is does.

shop aloe Vera is good as fedip said. My dm used to be a cook and always used it on burns.
lib take it easy Brew
fedup agree about summer clothes-I only have so many as we tend to go abroad so I have stuff that I wear for about 2 weeks a year. Cold here in the mornings but has warmed up a bit by afternoon. Enough for no jacket but a cardi still required Grin.

Sorry to those I've missed but need to rush out the door again....

queencerulean · 08/05/2017 21:19

pink boots outfit

queencerulean · 08/05/2017 21:21

another one

shopafrolic · 08/05/2017 21:32

How did you find those Queen?
Funnily enough, the girls said to me that I should have worn the pink boots on Sat night when I was wearing my leather trousers, black blazer and Marvel tee. I couldn't see it but seeing those links I'll give them a try. Flowers

shopafrolic · 08/05/2017 21:34

shopafrolic · 08/05/2017 22:12

Has anyone tried the new John Lewis range of denim? I'm tempted to take a look....
