Join us to talk all things fashion and beauty. The clocks go forward next Sunday (who's bright idea was it to organise that on Mother's Day?!). Longer days and hopefully some sunshine - we're dying to get our ankles out.
All welcome :)

It's just me here today Smile

Lib glad the purchases were good. The linen t looks nice, I like it in the raspberry colour. Splendid poncho sounds lovely.

I've also made a purchase - this Hush jacket - it's expensive for a cardigan (!) but I love the colour and will get a lot of wear out of it I think.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/04/2017 15:39

hey lovelies, sorry i've not been around much, much stress right now. it turns out that the woman we thought owned the house we are currently sharing in is NOT the owner, she is the tenancy holder and is subletting to everyone else here , oh and we have to be out by June as she's decided to ditch the tenancy so everyone has to leave. we found out by accident from the woman who actually owns the house as the person subbing to us wasnt going to tell us until next month!! so it's house hunting for us now. DP is all calm and confident about it and says it's just the next part of the adventure and i'm stressed and not sleeping. Think it's really awful that a) she mislead us about the staus we had and b) that she just wasn't going to tell us until less than a month until we have to be out! really upset by it tbh and struggling anyway as i was feeling pretty low anyway and now this on top has just pushed me even further down. anyway, it'll be okay i'm sure, Dp is, like i said, all confident about it and is his usual calm and cool self it's just me who is a storm of upset and stress! nevermind eh, onwards and upwards, right?

love to all and sorry again about being MIA

libertydoddle · 20/04/2017 17:43

That's dreadful one. Not surprised you are upset. It's very disconcerting to have your living arrangements messed up. Good that DP is taking it in his stride. Fingers crossed you can get something sorted out quickly.

Nice cardi/jacket Bernice. I'd like something similar.

Dreamqueen · 20/04/2017 18:26

Great shopping Lib & Bernice

That is a big shock for you One especially after all the hard work you did before moving. Hoping that you find somewhere else soon.

I've started wearing my Boden ruched skirts. I've got loads to go with the black one but am strugging to find stuff to go with the navy/white stripe one. Any suggestions please? Must be forgiving in the tummy area.

I'm even more in love with my Gazelles. They are really comfy. Thank you Dry for spurring me on to buying them.

In Whistable on Monday I bought this dress and when I went in the wardrobe I realised that much of my stuff is variations on navy/white stripes. (that grammar sounds wrong)

I've ordered beautyof a T shirt from Uniqlo. Planning on wearing it with my black Boden ruched skirt up the golf club. {smile] i contemplated buying this one but I had the original many years ago & now think I'm too old for stuff like it. Uniqlo have some really nice stuff at the moment.

I'm planning another weekend of booze and food then it's back to a regime of some sort, Can't make my mind up between keto/low carb or slimming world. Suggestions please?

God, Just realised I've rambled on forever, sorry Blush Might be the gin!

kittyhello · 20/04/2017 22:24

Evening,

Just catching up, I'm going to sound like a bore but Dream are you wearing your ruched skirt with tights? I have the same one, in black, and keep looking at it but as it's a bit clingy I hate the thought of wearing tights with it but still can't face going bare legged. Love the tees and dress btw.

Lib glad you like the linen tee, I'm contemplating new jeans too, am so fed up with all my jeans

One Flowers I think that happens quite a lot these days, sadly Angry

Bernice I love that jacket and have been contemplating it yellow for ages.

Good classic purchases happy and Fedup have you got used to your new hair style?

Remus who was a s&b regular, haven't seen her posts recently ,pinned grey AV jacket and I promptly bought it.

shopafrolic · 20/04/2017 22:25

One that sounds tough but your partner sounds fab and I'm sure it'll be sorted before you know it
Dream I love both of those - mind if I copy?
I watched Trinny's latest vid this evening and am now obsessing about two things from &OS but don't want to link in case they sell out.
I am in town on a Saturday for a very informal school reunion (yikes) and hope to do a bit of shopping first. Need to figure out what to wear. Want to look good but not too try hard.....

I saw Bella Hadid interviewed this evening for a Dior / Grazia colab and she looked fab in some wide legged cropped jeans with red stilettos. I need another pair of new jeans so may try something similar.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 20/04/2017 22:46

thanks all, i'm sure it will be fine, just hit us completely out of the blue is all. ah well

no fashion news here at all, just haven't been feeling it at all, all ive been wearing is either shorts and tights or jeans and various tees and cardigans, just haven't felt like anything else for ages now. hopefully i'll get my mojo back as ive got a wardrobe full of dresses and skirts that just arent getting touched right now

FedupNagging · 20/04/2017 23:03

Kitty and Lib reading back my post, I don't sound too enthusiastic about my hair but actually I do like what my hairdresser has done. Tomorrow morning I will be styling it myself which never goes as planned!

Kitty your jacket link isn't working but as I like pretty much all Remus' pins, I'm sure it'll be really nice. I'll head over to Pinterest in a mo to check it out. I loved your j crew trousers too- have they arrived and what are they like?

One I'm not surprised you're feeling a bit stressed - what an awful experience for you and such a shitty move by your supposed landlord.

Bernice great jacket from Hush - I tried it on a while back but wanted more of a jacket than a cardigan. It's on my sales wish list though. There was also a similar one in pink.

FedupNagging · 20/04/2017 23:09

Dream meant to add that styled right, you could definitely wear that t.

I saw a friend today in our age range Wink totally rocking an early 80's inspired white photograph t shirt with pale skinnies, leather jacket and platform trainers.

kittyhello · 20/04/2017 23:21

Fedup I've moved the jacket to my jacket board on Pin. The trousers haven't arrived yet, nor the jumpsuit.

I hate posting on the app as I have a 10 second memory and can't remember what I read.

Shop I can totally see you in Dream's tee shirts, you too One. Hope you have fun at the reunion.

Dreamqueen · 21/04/2017 06:42

Kitty I'm wearing the skirts with my new gazelles or flat Clarks loafers, no tights. I can't wear tights, I get really uncomfortable in them & no matter what brand I buy they roll down under my non exhistent (spelling?) waist.

I can picture you in the T shirts Shop Uniqlo T shirts are brilliant & wash really well. Thank you for the compliment Fedup Look forward to your uodate on stying your hair yourself. Sometimes it takes doing hair yourself for it to feel "more you'and less hairdresser if you know what I mean.

libertydoddle · 21/04/2017 08:29

I agree you can totally do those T-shirts Dream and I'd love to see you in your local golf club turning heads!!

Off to Pin to see this AV jacket...

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/04/2017 10:05

I love that AV jacket Kitty, really nice.

Dream I was wearing my Boden striped ruched skirt yesterday with my white linen top from Whistles. It is quite loose but not too long so I think goes quite well. I do wear tights with mine as I wear tights with everything!

I've also bought and am loving these shoes but I think they will polarise opinion - I bought a red pair a while ago which didn't get much love on here!

I like those t-shirts Dream, I can also see Shop and One wearing them.

Sorry to hear about your troubles One, its good that DP is being so calm about it so that he can support you through it.

Shop school reunion sounds fun and a bit scary. Sure you will look your usual stylish self.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 21/04/2017 10:12

Lib do I recall you mentioning wanting a green flannel shirt (a bit unseasonal now I know!) as I saw green/Checked this one in H&M
(Not sure what has happened to my link??)

kittyhello · 21/04/2017 10:53

AV jacket arrived and it's going back, too cardigan like, drab colour and not structured enough for me.

I like those shoes Bernice they're like a modern updated ballet flat.

DryWhiteagainW · 21/04/2017 11:16

Hello everyone! SOA finished....7 seasons in under 3 weeks, the shame!!!! now I've got to catch up with all of the boring jobs I've neglected!

One that's bad news, but as others have said, your DP sounds great and things will get sorted, hang in there.

DD went shopping with friends yesterday and was asked in Hollister if she wanted a job. Great for self esteem especially with all her body issues over the last couple of years but honestly I feel a bit depressed that here I am encouraging her to work hard for her exams and she's been offered a job solely on her looks. Bloody hell....

happypoobum · 21/04/2017 12:28

Dry My DS is the same. He is tall and thin and gorgeous and gets offered a job every time he sets foot anywhere like American Apparel/Hollister etc. Even if coffee shops etc.

It is hard when we try to teach teenagers that looks are superficial and what's important are skills, manners and willingness to learn.

shopafrolic I love &OS too.

justasecond · 21/04/2017 12:31

Hi everyone! lots of lovely links to catch up on.
Blimey dry that is impressive but I expect you feel as if you can get your life back now! I too have become rather obsessed with asian drama serials. Very addictive, I watched an entire 24 part hour long each serial over the Easter weekend Blush

one that sounds very stressful , hope you find somewhere suitable quickly.
Lib lovely links the poncho looks very cosy and you have reminded me I have a beige assymetric one that I should dig out for this time of year.
fed up Lovely blazer
welcome to happy!
I watched that Trinny vid too shop look forward to seeing your links! I recently bought some metallic pink loafers from there that I am a bit scared to link as they will prob instantly out me in my neck of the woods! wore them out with an all black outfit last night. Also these sunglasses www.stories.com/gb/Accessories/Sunglasses/Metal_Frame_Aviator_Mirror_Sunglasses/582820-0273500006.2 which are excellent quality for the price
Bernice I love those topshop flats in fact I bought them in gold but returned as I have too many shoes and didn't really need them. The hush cardigan looks lovely

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/04/2017 12:44

thanks all, i know we'll be alright int he end, it was just a huge shock the way we found out. Still, worse things could happen, right?

Still lacking mojo so today's OOTD is dark grey distressed skinnies, grey harry potter tee and a long grey ribbed boyfriend cardigan. Going out shortly so will add black glittery converse lo tops, teal suedette biker jacket and some kind of scarf. nothing fancy but okay for the weather today

need to get my bag fund up and running! i'm determined to have something nice by my birthday next january. Need to work out what i can afford to save each month and stick to it!

libertydoddle · 21/04/2017 13:53

Oh thanks Bernice, I have a top I need to return to H&M so I will check that shirt out. I like the shoes - it has taken me a while to appreciate that shape but they are definitely a more modern look than traditional ballet flats.

Shame about the jacket Kitty. Super fast delivery though!

Great sunnies Justa. Other Stories are fab for accessories IMO.

Working from home today - wearing new Boden cropped, frayed end jeans, scoop neck long sleeve cream t-shirt from Jaeger and the Splendid poncho. Clarks tan Hamble Oak brogues.

libertydoddle · 21/04/2017 13:57

Dry I would be Hmm about the job offer for DD too - as you say nice confidence boost but also reinforces beliefs about the importance of appearance too. Not nice of Hollister to do that - must feel a bit crap for friends with her at the time who didn't get the same offer. I must say I detest that bloody shop...

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 21/04/2017 14:12

My belt arrived! Was out of the office tues/wed, and came back today to an Italian parcel on my desk :) will do unboxing later...

Dry that's hard, like you say it's a needed boost to her self esteem but as a grown up you can see all the issues with it too. But tbh all work experience is good... Would this be her first job? Does she still have to have an interview? (again good experience)

One sounds horrendous, I take it flatmate wasn't allowed to sublet? Would make me so angry! Am sure you will be settled soon. Flowers

Did some orders lately and can report back :) I bought Asos Ridley jeans in 6 sizes to try (in white) and can confirm that their petite jeans have a lower rise (which is good because the rise on the normal jeans is ridiculously high) but no other size differences, and they are made from a thinner denim. I ended up keeping a 28w28leg. Also the petites had silver hardware and the normal jeans had gold - odd!
And did a House of Fraser order but I think it's all going back - Karen Millen jumper had odd bulbous sleeves and made me look huge, Boat neck top was too big in an M hate online size guides and a bit thin for £29. Phase Eight jumper was nice and soft but maybe just a bit loose on me style wise.

Glad you found your bracelet Blingy and glad you had a relaxing holiday Marsha!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 21/04/2017 14:51

blair we aren't really sure if she was allowed to or not, she's been very reluctant to speak to us since we found out we need to move. Any how, Dp rang Shelter for advice on our legal position this morning and he will tell me what they said when he gets home, hes very busy at work so i didn't want to call him and ask while he's so busy. Glad you finally got your belt, its been ages since you ordered it!

Went out for a very reluctant walk, my hips are causing me a lot of pain atm, they feel like they are trying to get out of the socket, going to speak to the doctor about it and see if they can get to the bottom of whats causing them to be so painful.

Keep wondering if i should have a hair restyle or i should leave to to keep growing. It's currently roughly all one length and down to the bottom of my shoulder blades. I'm not keen ont he idea of anything short though, I would struggle with the upkeep and need for styling and tbh, i like it long and like that i can tie it up in different ways and styles. Thinking on, i probably will keep it long but i might have the colour changed. right now, the top is my natural colour and then from about halfway down to the bottom is red from where it's grown out. The red was just too much upkeep, my hair grows pretty fast so it was constantly needing the roots done and it was a struggle to keep it looking nice so i gave up on the red and have just been letting it grow since then
