No empties on my 5 for summer yet.

Have about one more day of day moisturiser left.

ememem84 · 29/05/2017 10:31

Travel size day moisturiser finished! New full size opened ready for tomorrow.

d270r0 · 29/05/2017 11:12

Hi all, can I join?

I have masses of stuff to use up but have to motivate and remind myself to use it. I rarely wear makeup- and also have huge amounts of body lotion etc. I also have loads of shower gel which I do use lots of, but also love to buy so end up getting more faster than I use it.

d270r0 · 29/05/2017 11:20

Here are my 5 for Summer-

  1. Strawberry body shop shower gel (not much left)
  2. Body shop vitamin E body butter which has been open waaay too long
3.Tube of Sanctuary warming face mask
  1. 2x bomb cosmetics bath bombs from Christmas 2015
  2. Vichy night cream sample
ABeaverAteMyThumb · 29/05/2017 14:29

strawberry- I have that in my bathroom too! I dread the battle that comes with using it!

I've used up a neutrogena factor 70 suncreen (ultra sheer dry touch). I'm quite pleased to be honest. It hurt your eyes if it ran into them and left white splodges. I'm on to an ultrasun sample now. I much prefer this!

applesandpears33 · 29/05/2017 20:46

Boots box? I've just fallen off the wagon and got the Boots box and a cliniqe gwp. I bought an eye cream, although I have one waiting in the stash and a lipstick which is a bit of a work staple.

On the plus side I am slowly working through stuff with the help of DD. She decided to make bubbles with my nice Arran Aromatics handwash and hand cream that I'd only just opened. I loved the scent they had and could have cried when I found them. Also finished off a Joules body cream and a tube of E45. And just about to finish off an ancient lip stick. I think it is probably about 15 years old!

plumstone · 30/05/2017 09:05

This morning, I have cut opened my L'oreal Shea Butter body lotion and reckon it will be finished by Thursday morning.

Only one more use of the boring waitose camomile shower gel. Can;t wait to see the back of this - have my Soaper Duper Zesty Lemon body wash waiting in the wings and the matching body butter - which I am so looking forward to using!!!

lifeistooshort · 30/05/2017 10:08

Over the weekend I have finished more products:

I have finished my yes to carrots moisture which is 3/5 of my five for summer so I am on track. But as I had finished my night moisturizer a few days before, it now means I am completely out of moisturizer. I only hope that my order will soon arrive from Korea!.

I have finished a box of Epsom salt (not very glam). And gave one of my new products, the skinfood egg foam wash to my daughter as she had run out and this one dried my skin.

I have even started using a body oil as I have loads and am usually too lazy to use. I can't believe the number of products I have finished off since joining this thread.

Strawberryfield12 · 30/05/2017 14:13

Have finished the first item from my 5 list - Waitrose baby bottom butter. Yay!

And two more items sadly not on the list:

  1. Espa hydrating Floral Spafresh, 12ml
  2. The Organic Pharmacy hand cream full size.

Now seeing the baby bum cream going it made me realize that I have a considerable stash of baby oils and lotions, all organic, which my daughter hasn't really allowed to use on her. The maximum she can handle is sudocream on the nappy area. So I have thought I will make an effort to use them all until the end of 2017, especially as some of them have best before Jan 2018. Should be ok for legs and feet.

raindropstea · 30/05/2017 16:35

I want to join. I'm pleased that I have all of the following empties:

Max factor velvet volume mascara - would not buy again. Not as good as false lash effect and the brush hurts my eyes going on. Anyone else have this problem with this type of mascara brush? I'm learning I much prefer the softer brushes.

Aerin (estee lauder) rose lip conditioner deluxe sample. I hate this stuff! Feels thick and sticky going on and pulls the lips when you apply it.

Paula's choice resist pure radiance skin brightening treatment. It was okay but I wouldn't buy again. Didn't notice any changes but I have good skin.

Maybelline dream lumi touch - I have purchased tons of these and have two as backups waiting. 😊

Maybelline babylips in pink punch - I liked it. 😊 I usually wear it on makeup free days for a pop of color and moisture on my lips.

Bioderma sensibio mask - it's okay but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy it again. I would if it's on offer.

kwick · 30/05/2017 18:23

Welcome newbies!!!

Well done on all the empties!!!

None to report here - hope to have some before I return home...

@Strawberryfield12 I hear you on the baby creams! My DS had dry skin and eczema as a baby and toddler resulting in me having a considerable stash of emollients only one of which bloody worked

I will use them up as body lotion but they're all v boring so might alternate with something scented

DragonNoodleCake · 30/05/2017 20:12

I'm in the list modern hotel ever! I will report later if the goodies are any good.

No empties I'm afraid

ememem84 · 30/05/2017 20:23

Went to boots today. Spent £18. Only bought things I needed. Shower gel. Shampoo. Conditioner. Deodorant. Cotton wool pads. And an exfoliator for dh.

Feel that I've accomplished something. Went in with a list and stuck to it.

CantChoose · 30/05/2017 20:40

These came today :D I'm really excited to try them. It was hard to see the colours properly on the site so it was a bit of a gamble but they're lovely dark jewel colours. There's inexplicably three almost identical greens though Hmm
I have finished a mini roger & gallet hand cream from m&s so overall I'm 'only' +7 items today. Oops.

Strawberryfield12 · 30/05/2017 21:12

@curragh some time ago I heard Caroline Hirons say on Youtube that she uses nice, scented lotion on the upper body and cheaper one on bottom. This approach definitely works for me to go through the baby products and not get depressed about the lack of excitement.

Tablefor4 · 30/05/2017 21:39

I've not progressed on beauty, although I am working on it, but I have finished up the semolina I've had in a jar for at least 8 years from a failed attempt to make polenta!

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 31/05/2017 13:47

table def counts. We celebrate all victories! Wine
Hi raindrop and yes I feel your mascara pain! Love benefit mascara but man those bristles are hardcore!
I agree life I have cleared out so many things since starting. Today I finished a hand scrub that is probably 6 years old. A goody but risked a fall in shower using it on my feet!
I celebrated finishing some of my summer list but forgot what I had on it so must work harder as only 1 down!

d270r0 · 31/05/2017 21:10

I have my first empty to report! The vichy night cream. Only a sample but still lasted a good few gos.
I went through some of my stash and binned 2 mascaras that have been open for years, and gave an old bath bomb to the kids to use. So 4 down! But I then saw online that Aldi are releasing their own version of the hot cloth cleanser for £3.99 tomorrow, and wanted to try it so bought that. Well I will need a new cleanser once my full size and 2 minis are used up.
I have the same problem as some of you with the baby products... have about 10 half used tubs of sudocrem, bepanthen etc which I can't really see how I could use... loads of big johnsons bottles of baby lotion, bath stuff etc and big pots of E45 and aqueous cream. They are just so boring, don't really want to use them.

woodhill · 31/05/2017 21:53

One empty, soap and glory foot creams, slow going recently but did use up small soap.

plumstone · 01/06/2017 09:35

Morning all - lots to report:

Finished: Garnier Ultimate Blends Body lotion - bottle was cut so completely empty. Aerosol Sure Deodorant, Nip and Fab Glycolic Night Pads. Waitose Camomile Shower Gel.

Almost: Nivea face moisturiser and travel sized Clarins Hydra quench hydrating mask - both tubes have been cut so onto final few days. Once the Nivea is completely done, I will start on the January Labs moisturiser from the Cult Beauty Box, looking forward to trying it, but don't want to love it too much to the point where I must have it!

FrowningFlamingo · 01/06/2017 13:48

Wow plum that's impressive work!! I've tried to be very good this week and do proper face regime not just wipes. But still pretty lacking on the empties front!

Treeballarae · 01/06/2017 15:03

Hope you're having a good holiday @Kwick.

Cake for everyones Empties!

I have some empties but they are not on my five for summer list. Nothing to report so far from that list, although I'm almost finished the hand cream used as a body lotion and when it was hot over the weekend I was using the leg cooling gel. It's back to overcast now, I think that might have been our summer.

Empties Aromatherapy Associates face oil mini, Darphin intral serum, Elemis ginseng toner and Elemental Herbology Eye Elixir.

I've also fallen off the wagon and purchased a vitamin C serum, LRP cicaplast balm, Collection 2000 yellow undereye corrector, 3 new moisturisers and Philip Kinsley No Scent No Colour Jet Set kit, so I'm sadly five products up on where I started. I'm also tempted by the sound of the virgin mojito products, I must look them up! Grin

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 01/06/2017 16:42

Amazing tree zingy and wakes me right up!

raindropstea · 01/06/2017 18:35

Anotherpinkieiestory, yes those bristles are hardcore! I guess maybe they do it to separate your lashes or something. But there must be a good mascara out there with a more gentle brush!
