No empties to report except for a couple of shampoo and conditioner sachets. Have moved now and only brought the full items with me so it is going to take ages before anything is empty! May have to resort to using up a few of the samples, just so I can say something is gone.

Welcome to all the new posters, and congratulations on all the empties.

mintmagnummm · 21/05/2017 07:17

I have an empty! Dermalogica ultracalming cleanser 250mls. I used every last drop and have another one ready to go Grin

pasturesgreen · 21/05/2017 08:32

So...I've fallen off the bandwagon quite spectacularly Blush

In my defence, I've had a pretty rubbish few months and felt in need of cheering up. As old habits die hard, I reverted to my tried and tested cheering up method of getting new makeup.

Have now acquired the new Dior lip tattoo thing (which is fab, incidentally!), a turquoise eye pencil, two nail polishes (gaaah! Two! Confused), that Clinique vitamin C thing which I had tried and loved, a bottle of Lancome smoothing serum and a jar of Clinique pep-start moisturiser.
.
Oh, and I've acquired about a million samples of this and that, courtesy of the lovely sales assistant.

The skincare are all products I actually use, but I now feel a bit like a relapsing addict...I think I may need a firm kick up the backside to start afresh. God, I was bad, wasn't I?

ememem84 · 21/05/2017 10:13

pastures I'm going to say no. Not bad. If it's all stuff you use and will use then it's a necessary spend.

kwick · 21/05/2017 13:59

Not bad pastures if it brought you joy!
Whenever I feel guilt about my stash I look at Tati on YouTube - she has a graveyard series which goes through category by category her stash. My collection doesn't even contain one from each category she has!

Pasturesgreen that kind of stuff happens to all of us. I had a major sportswear shopping spree yesterday (clothes shopping has always been a bigger problem for me than cosmetics).

That said, my stash is dwindling beautifully, my products are getting loved and worn. I've just gone back to a summer staple, Hera UV Mist cushion, and a gem in my stash - the peachy Chanel Paradis lipstick. Here's what they look like after a glorious day in the sun...

@FrustratedFrugal is there no lipcolour you don't rock???
You look fab!!!

I am sans makeup after some time at the allotment - look what was there upon arrival:

I have an empty:

  • Yves Rocher Riche Creme regenerating care anti- dark spot spf 20: did not get on with this - especially if got in mouth - have finished up as a body lotion. Moving on to a cream from stash.

I have been forgetting what I've posted. But I think this is a new one - I have FINALLY finished my Redken shampoo and conditioner, the curly hair one.
I've loved some of the other Redken ones and I know there's a lot of fans here so went straight for the giant bottles. But I hated everything about this and am so glad it's gone. Back to my tigi oatmeal and honey for me :D

CantChoose · 21/05/2017 20:43

I love that lipstick too frugal.
When I was a teen I had a beautiful peach bourgeois lipstick and I've never managed to find one that compares.

In even more exciting news than finishing the Redken (it's a close one though) I've finally gone through the stash and picked out anything suitable for 'give and make up' - there's a whole shoebox of new / nearly new, some of it quite fancy. I'm struggling to comit to taping it up to send. Keep telling myself that I just don't need it, have loads already and they need it a lot more than me. And repeat.

Strawberryfield12 · 21/05/2017 22:19

Have got one last use left of the votary face oil. I actually feel bit sad to see it go. Got it from my advent calendar and have been using it since beginning of 2017. I try to console myself with that it's not THAT long until December (?), I will definitely want Liberty advent calendar again and I should make a good dent in that bathroom caddy full of all sort before end of year.
I have had 2 empties since I committed to the 5bysummer and not one of them is on the list. Challenging myself and all.... I am covered in Waitrose baby bottom butter in the effort to get to the bottom of it.

ememem84 · 22/05/2017 08:47

Another empty - sample size of benefit porefessinal. Yay.

Now to move onto beauty flash balm as primer. I like what it does but hate the smell. It was a freebee anyway so no money wasted. 😀

IPokeBadgers · 22/05/2017 19:26

One empty - a small molton brown hand-wash (the Christmas one, maybe Frankencense?) - but the matching handcream pump still on the go......trying to be disciplined and use it after hand washing but I don't take my rings off in the bathroom so not keen on using handcream when wearing them....if that makes sense?
Also decanted some purple radox bubble bath into another, different purple radox to get rid of another bottle out of the bathroom....similar smells so figured why not!

littlepooch · 22/05/2017 20:07

Hello all!

I have a couple of empties from my weekend away - a full size Liz Earle superskin eye cream (was ok, nothing special) and a sample size bliss shower gel and face wash. These were both really nice but I'm not in a position to repurchase as plenty more in the stash.

I have just got home and realised I have no eye cream so need to have a think as to what to buy tomorrow (will steal DHs) in the meantime. I'm yet to find one I love!

Strawberryfield12 · 22/05/2017 22:26

Have two empties. Pears hand wash and Espa optimal skin Procleaner of 30ml. This is the first product from Espa I tried and liked, I shall shortlist it for repurchase in the far future when all my other cleaners are finished. or I will keep an eye on any offers Espa might send to get it for my stash

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 23/05/2017 02:54

frugal looking wonderful. Relaxed and refreshed!
Lovely allotment too kwick

I had a fab weekend away and used up 4 of my 5 for mid summer
Charlotte tilbury foundation
Kiko highlighter
Boring boots dry skin cream
Body shop Fiji green tea shower gel and moisturiser

Hoorah! And we'll done everyone else!

kwick · 23/05/2017 07:39

@Strawberryfield12 if I can afford it I am definitely going for the Look Fantastic advent again - brought me so much joy!!!

@IPokeBadgers why not put handcream elsewhere? i have mine in Living Room so I can apply whilst watching TV.

I am with you there @littlepooch the korres black pine eye cream I am currently using has failed to live up to expectations and I think is even irritating my under eye area 😡

Amazeballs job on all the empties!!!! 🍾

Hi All, been away for work and was delighted with the thought that as I was going to a "hot country" it would be the perfect opportunity to use up Pantene spF for hair and Ambre Solair SPF 30 spray. No went with two half full products and came home with both - it was definitely chilly on arrival and the sun only appeared the day I left. Oh well keep them for holiday!

Working through everything slowly but the biggest habit change was only two products bought at Heathrow Duty Free. Perfume for me - needed, and a perfume for a friends birthday. Felt very virtuous not buying anything else!!!!!

littlepooch · 23/05/2017 15:58

Bum. I was doing really well and have slipped up today. I opened a new Estée Lauder ANR and had forgotten how much I love it. Went to boots as I legitimately needed a new eye cream and ended up buying the eye cream AND a moisturiser. I didn't really need the moisturiser but justified it to myself that if I'm using Estée Lauder ANR and the ANR eye cream then I should have the matching moisturiser. I will use it up as I love the combination of all 3 products and I know they work really well for me but I have plenty of unopened clarins stuff in the stash that I should have really made a start on instead.

The sales assistant also gave me loads of samples as she saw I was pregnant (and probably looking a million years old) and said she thought I deserved some treats. Really Lovely of her as they are all great sizes and things I like but I've now got even more to get through!

FrustratedFrugal · 23/05/2017 18:01

Thanks all!
I have serious allotment envy Kwick - your looks glorious.

I am packing, will leave tomorrow. I've spent the best part of an hour decanting micellar water, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body butter. Only a serious hoarder like me has travel size empties for every imaginable product type - filled with my favorite full-size products...

Rummaging through my stash, I can see I am definitely making progress. My makeup stash is half empty, I packed my last mini toothpaste, and even my moisturizers will be gone in about a year Shock

Strawberryfield12 · 23/05/2017 18:32

@kwick I just had a look at look fantastic one, sounds great! Definitely a contender for this year!

I was on tube today and lady next to me was wearing the perfume from Liberty calendar. She smelled so good and I still have most of that bottle!! I have been trying to use up the White Company Day smelly, which I got for Xmas 2 years ago and which does nothing to me. I think I might just treat myself for few weeks.

curragh · 24/05/2017 06:39

An empty to report. Tiny but hey ho...

  1. Travel size pot of No. 7 Oil Gel Cleanser

Working my way steadily through my 5 for midsummer. Cut open the Clarins foot cream but there is at least another weeks worth of cream in it

kwick · 24/05/2017 07:06

Ladies some advice piece - I have a severe case of KP on my left arm - any recommendations?

OP posts:
plumstone · 24/05/2017 09:06

Hi Kwick - Amoralite Body lotion is meant to be good, however mine is better after the following:

Fresh air - seems to diminish in the sun
weekly scrub - I use at the moment Soap and Glory
Body lotion - I am using Garner shea butter daily after shower
Dairy - I have significantly reduced mine and only really just eat butter - not sure if this is connected but both arms look better after a couple of weeks with no cheese!!!

Now this I have not tried however a couple of people have said that glycolic nip and fab pads have done wonders for theirs - may be worth a shout!!!

curragh · 24/05/2017 10:46

@kwick

Body lotion with urea is supposed to be good for KP. I'm pretty sure Eucerin do one and possibly also Garnier
