I went shopping for the first time in ages today and these tops were everywhere. Took me right back to the 90's! I had a fine array of vest tops to put over my tee shirts but I think I'll give it a miss this time round - my very pert 34B kahunas are sadly no longer up to the strain. (Nor are they still 34B or pert ). Isn't it funny how fashions seem to roll back round again?

When certain 70's styles came back in my mum had loads of stuff from then that I acquired borrowed.

Maxi dresses, jewellery (not expensive stuff just she rarely throws the like out), sandals, belts, scarves...

I must admit to wearing a black cord pinafore dress recently, over a jade green merino base layer. Also a strappy velvet skater dress over a red Breton stripe top.

I loved the 90s. Hoping the Tom Ford for Gucci silk shirt/velvet hipsters look comes back soon. I wore variations on that for ages. Had a Gold silk snakeskin print shirt I wore to death. Ended up wearing a hipster a-line mini with suede knee boots more often than flares.

That scarf thing is called a fichu.

Thanks for 'fichu' googling images that's HOW the scarf was worn as I said over a 'stone' coloured Mac but the scarves weren't lacy they were patterned (usually Paisley or floral) large head scarf style.

DD4 got it into her head yesterday that she could make coloured lip balm by melting a red crayon in hot coconut oil and allowing the concoction to cool to balm consistency. So she found a non-branded and possibly toxic old red crayon and was going to put a plastic container of unknown microwaveability with a dollop of coconut oil in the microwave when I caught her. I sort of remember DD1 trying to talk me into letting her do something similar back in 1998 or thereabouts.

I had a fetching strappy dress with Felix the cat on it. I loved to wear it over original 70s flares and a blue ribbed t-shirt...topped off with tattoo choker, blue eyeshadow, bindhi on forehead, twisty buns on head.
