Oh Auriga. Rest in peace, lovely little cat xxx

Blackduck · 11/02/2017 14:27

Auriga :( and Herbs :(

herbaceous · 11/02/2017 15:25

Oh Auriga. Flowers let me hold your hand. And let's hope our pusscats have met in cat heaven. They look so similar - Herbcat was just fluffier.

There's a certain kind of uncontrollable sobbing that is brought by cat euthanasia. And, for me, when I was clearing away the litter tray last night. Who'd have thought I'd be so sad to get poo out of the kitchen.

Lalsy · 11/02/2017 15:45

Auriga, Flowers for you. What a sweet looking puss. Herbs, hope you are raising a glass to dcat.

Jeepers, I was cold earlier, watching ds strut his stuff. I may stay indoors till April.

bigTillyMint · 11/02/2017 16:06

Sad Auriga.

Yes NU ,dd is just coming up to end of Y3; but in Écosse they fo another 4th Year. If she gets back in Huzzah!
Very doubtful she would come 'home' anyway. Scotland all the way
Cant convert her room yet though, just in case.👀

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/02/2017 19:37

Tell me more about what I missed please - especially food and drink related information... who was there, what were they wearing, what's the news ... ?

Had a freeeeezing cold day going to E Angular and back. Was for a particular and necessary reason and we did have a lovely lunch but it was a lot of driving. Home now, on sofa and on my second cup of tea. Planning to move onto red wine soon...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/02/2017 19:39

And very sorry to hear about another creepy cat coming to the end. It makes me feel sad just to think about ddog's demise (she's only 7)...

GiddyGiddyGoat · 11/02/2017 19:40

CREPEY cat. I'm sure Aurigacat was not at all creepy but as sweet as she looked.

motherinferior · 11/02/2017 20:05

Lunch was fab: MrsS, Herbs (in stylish new Sainsbury's cardie), BTM, Hattie (a rare sighting and v lovely), Rose aaaaand...MrsW, who is Very Unwobbly. I am knackered! Been lolling in bed with a book. DD1 has five (5, v) friends round. DP suddenly found himself cooking for them all plus DD2 and one of them is a vegan Grin

hattymattie · 11/02/2017 20:22

Hello Crepies - am back after a uneventful journey except that they photograph you at check in nowShock

Such a lovely meet up - you are all so lovely - great to meet Mrs W as well. The extra bottle of fizz was nice as compensation for BTM's wait. Herbs - I liked your cardi too. Mrs S thanks once again for organising and Rose hope you got back without being mobbed by Arsenal fans.

Auriga so sorry to hear about the demise of another crepey cat.

Am going to shower and generally lol about for a while. I have an evening of peace and quiet to myself before the arrival of DS and DH tomorrow.

MrsWobble3 · 11/02/2017 21:18

It was lovely to meet you all today. Now sitting in front of the fire with pink fizz, 2 cats and dh watching tv. A nice end to a very nice day.

hattymattie · 11/02/2017 21:33

More fizz Mrs W ... ?

MrsWobble3 · 11/02/2017 21:38

Yup, more fizz. It was my birthday yesterday - though not sure I really need an excuse.

MrsSchadenfreude · 11/02/2017 21:45

We just had a bottle of Champagne too. Am feeling a little sloshed.

hattymattie · 11/02/2017 22:11

I am quite clearly a champagne lightweight.

herbaceous · 11/02/2017 22:30

It was indeed a lovely do.

I had further props for my orange Sainsbos cardi at my second social event of the day, from which I have only just returned, with DS. Bad Mother.

Let us pray that he sleeps late tomorrow, not only because I am of course pissed as a fart. DP left at 8.30 to meet a friend, but was in bed when I came in at 10.20, so not sure what happened there...

Lalsy · 11/02/2017 22:32

MU sounds lovely. Like the champagne theme, one I hope to return to in 2017.

More details on Herbs' cardie, pretty please?

Lalsy · 11/02/2017 22:33

X posts. Really nice!

CointreauVersial · 11/02/2017 23:02

Aww...tears in my eyes at the thought of Herbs and Auriga saying goodbye to their lovely moggies. So sad for you both. Flowers

Sounds like you had a nice meet-up today, good to know the fizz was flowing.

I've barely had a moment on MN this week. DH was in Paris for a couple of days, there was much running around after DCs (no change there), and I had another Pageant Committee meeting (am slowly getting the measure of everyone, and latching on to all the local goss). DD1 had an excellent week of work experience; they really looked after her, and gave her some quite meaningful tasks. She came home on the last day with a massive goody bag of make-up, and gave precisely none to DD2, who was green with envy.

Meanwhile DS has not distinguished himself mocks-wise, scraping a C in Business and an F in Biology, which he has to retake. He sees no correlation between his poor results and his complete lack of revision. Several emails flying back and forth between school and myself.

I don't know what else I've been doing, but I feel like I've been running around like a hamster on a treadmill. Does anyone else find the weeks just whirring around faster and faster??

One more week of my forties left. Yikes.

CointreauVersial · 11/02/2017 23:10

And we've got mice again. I heard so much rustling in the kitchen last night I thought one of the DCs was in there attacking the crisps. Tiptoed in, opened a kitchen cupboard, and a big mouse clambered over and peered out at me, as if to say "Yes?? Can I help you?" A massive hole nibbled in a metal tube of tomato puree. Yuk. Have cleaned out the cupboard and dosed liberally with poison.

Auriga · 11/02/2017 23:26

You need a cat, CV GrinSad

When we were students the mice would sit in the middle of the floor and look us up and down, as if to say 'what's your excuse?'

CointreauVersial · 12/02/2017 00:14

Both DD1 and I are allergic, alas.
