Frizzy hair issues

What is the best thing to stop frizzy hair? Tried all the lotions & potions out there but they don't seem to stop the hairs on the top of my head going mad even & doing their own thing.
Also, best way to get heathy shiny hair on frizzy/wave hair?

Yes woo I guess I'm worried that it'll look greasy if I don't rinse it properly. How long do you rinse for?

From what I have read you really need to scrub your scalp with the conditioner for the co wash as that it was agitates the dirt .

I finally tracked down some 'yes to carrots' yesterday in boots and was most excited! And my cantu curl activator arrived this morning from amazon . I'll report back on how that goes . Slightly concerned as I'm a huge fan of boots curl creme and it works so well for me .

So I decided to cowash from now on. Usual regime is:
Kind Natured shampoo and conditioner (I think this is good stuff? Strated using it when I couldn't get Naked stuff any more), followed by Aunt Jackie's leave in conditioner and the Boots Curl Creme on sopping wet hair, combed through with fingers (found this made a huge difference once I stopped using a comb). On Saturday I did this except I used the Cantu curl activator (love the smel) instead of curl creme, and I had lovely soft curls. By yesterday in the drizzle it was a mass of frizz.
Today: 2 washes with baby shampoo followed by one with tesco coconut conditioner & then my usual Kind Natured conditioner, patted worst of the wetness off with a t shirt, then a small blob of Aunt Jackie's as I decided I has rinsed out all the conditioner, then a tablespoon-ish of tesco blue gel. Now it is dry there is no crunch and it is rather fluffy! Presumaby I didn't use enough gel? I have chin length hair, but very thick. I have scrunched in some Cantu stuff and that has helped a little. Any thoughts, experts?

I got a recommendation for mixed chicks. Picked up the curl redefiner foam last week and had so many positive comments on my hair since! It's about £11 in boots

Barks here, changed my name!

Took this just now .. co-washed my hair this afternoon, rinsed less, used different gel ... I'm quite happy with it. It's not as sticky either.

Woo looks great!

Yes I airdry my hair .. takes half a day too. Last time I used the gel from Trepadora .. it was expensive though but smells nice and feels soft. I've now bought the tesco cheap one to try too.

QueenoftheAndals · 10/01/2017 14:24

I've recently ditched the shampoo in favour of scrubbing my scalp with conditioner and can already see the difference! What really helps is a diffuser - if Ieft to airdry my hair just goes flat, but a diffuser gives it so much more body.

Woowoowoo yours looks great. mine is a frizz ball today. your hair is much finer than mine, but longer. I will try one and a half tablespoons of gel tomorrow. I don't have any problem with my hair in day 1 really, unless it's drizzling, but day 2 it's always more fluffy. I presume drizzle and mist will always make hair like mine frizz though.

TricksyLiesmith · 10/01/2017 19:07

Woo hair is looking good

I'm on day 4 now and mixed results .

So I washed with the Tesco pro v then followed up with yes to carrots and left some in . I then fiddled about with plopping but not convinced that did anything other than make the top flatter ? Then I put the cantu curl activator which smells lovely . Initially it looked great and was impressed with the cantu stuff compared to my usual curl creme , but today it feels frizzy ????

I've benn looking at those you tube videos about squish to condish . Does anyone do this ?

I keep looking at FB at all the amazing curls and hope mine can look the same . If I'm felling brsve I'll put a pic on here after the next wash

Today I had to shampoo my hair. It felt so grotty and I've had to tie it up for the last two days as it was huge, talking different postcode here. .
I'm using the tresemme undone condioner and I like it but after four days of co washing my hair was disgusting. I'm going to try again but I think it will need to be shampooed every few days. It is more curly and less fluffy which is a plus but felt grim

SamanthaBrique · 11/01/2017 08:40

That's quite an improvement over all the washes OP! Only thing is I'd recommend using a diffuser to give your hair more of a lift at the roots and avoid the flat on top pyramid hair effect.

I tried this method without success in the past and then discovered that the key is scrubbing your scalp with conditioner to clean it. Then rinse, blot with a towel and apply conditioner through the length. I use the 85p Boots own brand for the first step and Yes to Blueberries for the second.

littlepinkfizz · 11/01/2017 13:40

I had curly hair and after 5 chilfryit has become straighter and much thinner. I tried using kinky curry curling custard and loads of other products...costing ££££ but I ended up get it cut up to a pixie last year. I wanted to embrace the curls but they ended up straggly and flat 😢😢😢
