its more about the messages you convey to your children .. if you allow them to believe that its important what they wear rather than who they are and how they act then that's fairly sad IMHO

fashionistas always make me sad though

IntergalacticDave · 19/02/2007 18:50

popcorn anyone?

(Can't believe I'm postin that on a thread abouyt trousers, ffs)

God, we're not back to slagging off cod professionally are we? Give me a break.

Twig, I do agree with you, just don't like the way this is going.

Martianbishop, you've been spying on us again

Twiglett · 19/02/2007 18:52

cod's my mate .. but I think she's an arse when it comes to troosers

NuttyMuffins · 19/02/2007 18:52

It's not really about fashion though is it ??

More about looking like your parents can't afford to buy you clothes that fit imo.

It doesn't bother me cos of the fashion aspect anyhow, definatly the 'oh look how poor they must be' aspect.

my kids have ankle swingers AND bad ahricuts (well, ds2 does anyhow)

its coz we're poor

and coz they grow faster than I can catch up with

and coz when I do buy them new ones I regret it as they trip on the hems and they come teraing off and need replacing

so shorter is better imo

(oh and because they're that skinny that the right length falls down on them)

And- coz I'm really not that bothered about trousers sorry, DH and I have 2 pairs of jeans each, its just not a priority

yep you got it

we're tramps

Blandmum · 19/02/2007 18:54

Tamum, I have been stalking you!

Please, peeps, there are worse things in life than a thread about the lenth of trousers for goodness sake.

IntergalacticDave · 19/02/2007 18:54

there's nothing wrong with taking pride ine ones appearncve imho

(said she wearing jeans with a hole in the arse)

Intergalactic Dave - is it sweet or salty?

To think I'm missing Masterchef for this....

NuttyMuffins · 19/02/2007 18:55

I am paranoid about the kids looking poorly dressed, even more so now i'm a single mum. I don't buy exspensive or alot of clothes for my 3 but I always make sure that they look clean and tidy and their clothes fit.

Says more about me than anyone else really I supppose.

Tamum · 19/02/2007 18:55
IntergalacticDave · 19/02/2007 18:56

Will you be wearing trousers that meet your shoes Cod?

PeachyClair · 19/02/2007 18:56

Do they allow belts at other schools? banned at ours, mind you I can't blame them as long as DS1 is there

I don;t let mine wear ties either- tried it once, never again- the strangulation marks they came home with- euch

ILoveBeingWelshBoris · 19/02/2007 18:57

Haven't heard an argument about trousers since Kelly Albright dropped tippex on Julie Smiths new grey hipsters in sixth form.

Now that was a good fight

IntergalacticDave · 19/02/2007 18:57

detoxdiva, I wondered wtf you were on about then. I thouight you were making some bizzarre sexuakl reference

Popcorn. Yes. It's sweet. Yum!

Blandmum · 19/02/2007 18:57

I am the shady figure in Princes St gardens with the long lens camera

Do you know that there is a seat in princes' St gardens dedicated to Margaret Mary Twatt.

Only in Edinburgh can you go to a formal garden and sit on a Twatt
