The thing is pointydog ... is that it is UNIFORM ... so everyone has to wear the same.
And all schools seem to have the 'boys wear shorts' rule ... primary AND secondary.
So no cruel laughter.
DS is in Yr 3 ... same 3 pairs of shorts since he started school. Further up his leg now (above the knee now) but still fit him around the waist.

icod- 2 points:

  1. I haven't to my knowledge EVER posted on the same thread as you before this thread. Please feel free to double check on this, but it looks like on that score you owe me an apology, after accusing me of bullying/victimisation.

  2. I can see looking at the thread that I am not the only person that feels annoyed about the fact that you are saying that we are bad parents for not dressing our kids in "a certain way" and checking every morning or something similar to see if our kids clothes have hit some kind of imaginary "line of decency"... It may be your opinion and you are entitled to it but once you post it into the public domain, yes people are free to agree with you and laugh at your comments, but they are also free to disagree. It's a little thing called freedom of speech. I may not like what you have said, but I haven't told you not to post.

Have you ever thought that kids don't think like that.... it's only once certain kids start to listen to their parents saying things like that about that they start to make comments...
An extreme point but on exactly the same line.... but kids aren't racist... they don't give too hoots what colour you are, they have other more important things to worry about. like having fun, to worry about that... until they start to listen to adults judgemental attitudes. And no I'm not calling you judgemental, I'm just making the point that kids don't actually give a flying toss about trouser length until adults put that sort of thing into their heads

What the truth hurts eh? Don't you like people talking back to you and telling you sometimes you and your friends are wrong. Tough this open discussion, you decided to judge and now people are hitting back and not listening to your rubbish that you think is law. You didn't write the laws of what people wear and don't wear, when you do then come to me and tell us what we can and cannot do.

What a weird thread. FWIW I am much more of Twig's opinion than cod, but you have formed a very vehement opinion of cod in a very short time Aufish.
