Note to self - for God's sake get those new jeans for DS1 before we next see Aloha!

Sheraz · 19/02/2007 22:09

Sorry cod did you want the last word on this one??!!

Aloha · 19/02/2007 22:12

If I recall correctly, Dino, yours are the boys with the very long trousers indeed Not a beige polo neck in sight!

Aloha · 19/02/2007 22:13

And when ds wins any prizes for being hip and cool, I'll going to need a lie down!

DinosChapman · 19/02/2007 22:14

Do you know, DS2 has grown into those jeans now - he was wearing them this morning!

Twiglett · 19/02/2007 22:14

yabut Aloha dresses her DD in crinolines

Aloha · 19/02/2007 22:21

Yes, with matching parasol! Lovely!

Actually, today she looked v cute in THIS with navy tights and navy mary-janes. She is my dress-up dolly.

She wore it with her blue floral raincoat, which she calls her 'rainbow coat'.

OttergavebirthonValentines · 19/02/2007 22:22

Aloha · 19/02/2007 22:26

It's nice, isn't it? I keep willing her not to grow!

OttergavebirthonValentines · 19/02/2007 22:28

twinsetandpearls · 19/02/2007 22:36

At the school I teach at it seams compulsory to either wear trousers that are fartoo shortor trousers that the hem hasd come down on and they are being trampled. No one bats an eye lid as everyons is the same.

A much more disturbing feature is women whose trousers are too short, whatis their excuse. Have they had a growth spurt?

JanH · 19/02/2007 22:44

twinset, LOL at "fartoo shortor trousers" - do Boden sell those too?

twinsetandpearls · 19/02/2007 22:54

Sorry am tying and gorging my self on pickled onions and planning a lesson atthe same time!

ghosty · 20/02/2007 00:46

Psst ... good to see you back btw

twinsetandpearls · 20/02/2007 00:57

me? I haven't been anywhere. Although sometimes you are all a bit much for me and I wander off for a few days.

ghosty · 20/02/2007 05:39

Didn't you go off for a while? A while back? I haven't crossed paths with you for a while so that is probably why I thought you had only just got back
Anyhow, nice to see you

I think kids do pick on other kids but some kids rise above it .. the picking on and the being picked on .. I hope earnestly that my children are those types.

If they are not, and are picked on for their clothes I wish them the strength to just shrug it off

whichever way I won't get pulled into this is what happens hence it is important that their trousers are a certain length because I don't think kids notice .. certainly not 6 year olds .. I think parents notice and talk about it in front of their children making their kids aware of differences .. and that is the bit I find sad about ALL of this thread

it is our fault for perpetuating the thought that what you wear is important .. as long as you're clean that should be enough ..

the whole fashionista thing doesn't exist when a uniform is there, at least not to such an extent
