ugh, i agree about pants justa give me plain old cotton any old day unless it's for ahem a special occasion Xmas Wink seriously though, enough with the nasty, sweaty, thrush inducing man made fibres for pants, they just aren't nice or comfortable to wear!

I have a xmas part invite!!! it's the first one i've had in, well, a long time truth told and i'm a bit lost as to what i should wear really. I don't get out at all really these days so this is a big deal for me as sad as that sounds

justasecond · 10/12/2016 23:25

And don't get me started on dental floss size gussets!

justasecond · 10/12/2016 23:29

I never get invited to xmas parties either one if I did I would wear a pleated long black skirt with fitted sparkly black jumper and clutch oh and red lipstick Smile

kittyhello · 11/12/2016 09:02

Thanks Blair and Justa for the Nike info

Dry hope you had a fabulous evening in London

Will link some purchases I've made and try not to lose my post

leopard belt my old one is getting shabby

this looks much nicer than my current one

leopard bracelet was lusting after Amber's Valentino one at MU and had to fill that wardrobe gap

Since Mara linked her camo shirt the other I had to have it camo shirt, same as Mara's but short sleeved

Drywhitethanks · 11/12/2016 09:34

Amber big velvet double page in STyle magazine, you're on trend was never in doubt with your 'louche' velvet heels

I have another Christmas do this afternoon and Kitty's lovely links have reminded me I haven't worn my red leopard print bracelet for ages about a year so as I'm wearing all black, will be accessorising with red today. Love the camo shirt too.

Hope you enjoyed your dinner last night Linus. What did you wear in the end? Am sure a glass or 2 of something nice helped you forget the bathroom incident!

Dry looks like you're having a fab time.

Longislandicetee · 11/12/2016 10:31

Thanks for all the lovely congrats!!Grin

My favourite person of the weekend is MrDry! Star

Oh my goodness Amber, I used to live like that pre dc!Shock

Everyone, i sympathise! I hate it when I rush and put on an outfit and regret it almost as soon as I walk out of the door.

QueenC, hope you had a good night with dh.

Linus, dying to hear what you wore. I default to my most classics of classics on those occasions with a little bling.

Justa, you know I am a total bra fiend so very glad to hear you got re measured!

One, how exciting about your party invite!!

Kitty, absolutely love that first leopard belt. Can you let me know how it would stand up to having additional holes put in it?

FedUp, red and black, you can't go wrong!

Blair, I will be joining you in the Christmas card writing today! Did a whole load yesterday.

Drywhitethanks · 11/12/2016 11:16

Hello, survived the birthday party which reached high heights of preparation including lots to do with the magic theme and how much? magician. In depths of too many presents land for the day.

Went out last night and had a lovely time, warming up for this week when I have dos on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Not sure I have enough outfits.

Blingy congratulations!

Dry it all looked fabulous

MarshaBrady · 11/12/2016 12:23

Linus how was dinner, what did you wear?

LinusLovesBretons · 11/12/2016 16:29

I didn't want to get dressed up too much in case the hostess wasn't so I wore an old Sportmax lbd (I bought it in Singapore many years ago when DS was a baby) and my Manolos.

I did add a black Hermès clic clac bangle to the Love bracelet and the Menottes bracelet I wear every day for a bit of added bling.

It might not be the most exciting outfit but it did work, just like blingy's classics.

kitty I love your links.

Is it wrong that I am still in my pjs and really don't feel like getting dressed?

AmberNectarine · 11/12/2016 16:40

Am out Tues, Weds, Thurs, Friday AND Saturday this week so I need to do some outfit planning.

Not feeling my best today - bad cold. Am mainlining drugs (not the fun kind) and hoping for the best!

kittyhello · 11/12/2016 19:43

Outfit sounds great Linus glad it worked

Wow Amber that's a pretty full on schedule Shock

libertydoddle · 11/12/2016 21:34

Justa your underwear rant made me laugh. I resent spending on bras too and also am very Hmm at non cotton undies - are some people immune to thrush???

Viva good to see you again. Flowers must be very hard for all of you. I like your MV top.

QueenC thanks for the coffee machine link. I was looking at them in House of Fraser today, can’t decide whether to get one or not. I suspect I’d end up drinking too much coffee if I did.

Kitty such sensible buying, replacing things! I always hang onto stuff until it’s really shabby as I keep thinking it’s a ‘waste’ when I already have something but keeping your essentials updated makes a lot of sense.
Love the camo shirt – I was tempted when I saw mara link it too but feels a bit outside my comfort zone.

marsha and amber you both have full on social calendars!! I’m ducking out of things this week as I’m behind with study such a bore Marsha are you going party outfit shopping???

I’ve just had a Cos splurge…having been holding out for the sale but worried things will sell out and I have no time to get into a shop to try them. And we are in Ireland after Christmas so I can't order in sales that start just before or after Christmas. Free postage tipped the balance on the decision making so I have ordered red dress, navy dress, Tan roll neck (have this already in dark brown and love it) and oversized cardigan in kakhi.

libertydoddle · 11/12/2016 21:56

Xmas Smilemini MU alert Xmas Smile

Marsha and I have found a mutual calendar window on Dec 21st for a late lunch (3pm ish). If any other Voguettes are around central London at that time it would be lovely to see you. PM either of us for details.

Longislandicetee · 11/12/2016 22:21

Lib, I think you should try a Camo top. I think with one of your olive or brown skirts, it could work. Love the red dress you linked.

Linus, love the outfit, can't go wrong with the classics.

Marsha Flowers, that will be me next month!

I have spent all day recovering from the tiredness of the Christmas party we hosted last night. We had 40 people over to our house and it was lovely but knackering because of my illness. Dh has spent all day recovering with a hangover! I was sparkletastic. I decided to wear my sparkly Saint Laurent shoes. I was top to toe sparkly with my Santa hat.

Drywhitethanks · 11/12/2016 22:43

So, my surprise was a night at the Ritz Xmas Shock. It is SO Christmassy in there. DH had booked DD and me a mani and pedi session while he and DS went to the bar then early dinner and theatre. Breakfast was incredible.
I've been spoilt, DH even tolerated shopping today and survived Hollister R St, the man deserves a medal -needs a spa break to recover!!!
So my week of celebrations have come to an end, I've. Had the best birthday ever and feel very lucky.

Now to Christmas..........

I luffs MrDryXmas Grin Thoroughly deserved and glad you had such a great time!

I have bought another Alexander McQueen dress - I don't normally do "prints", but decided to see if this might work for me. I have loved it since September and there was a 30% discount on it. I think the chemise I bought might be going back. Finally tried it on today and it looks lovely at the top but i think it's too long. For that kind of money every bit of it needs to be perfect!

LinusLovesBretons · 12/12/2016 00:22

That's where DH proposed to me dry! In the Rivoli bar and afterwards we went and had dinner in the restaurant and the pianist played 'our song'!

There was a lovely American couple who noticed that DH had proposed so they sent two glasses of chanpagne over to our table.

I can really see you in that dress blingy as the print is quite subtle.

And I love those Cos dresses lib, the red really looks like it would suit you.

LinusLovesBretons · 12/12/2016 01:51

We just had the local highschool marching band do a tour of our neighbourhood playing Christmas tunes. Smile

The children had just come out the bath so they were in their pj's and dressing gowns and they were super excited when the police car escorting the band stopped in front of our house, lights flashing.

Then the officer stepped out of his car, came over, shook their hands, asked their names and had a little chat with them. Xmas Smile

I know what they are going to talk about at school tomorrow!

Drywhitethanks · 12/12/2016 08:08

Blingy I love that dress for you. Was expecting scary florals Grin v flattering cut, colour perfect.
Right.....I'm getting Christmas organised now

OP posts:
Longislandicetee · 12/12/2016 08:12

The proposal sounds so romantic Linus. The Ritz is one of my favourite hotels and I still think you can't beat tea at the Ritz.

Love the sound of the marching band. You know if it were me, I would be all in with the Christmas thing!Grin

Glad you think the dress might work. I think I am having one of my periods of reinvention where I still like classics but with a little bit of a twist. I think that is what is attracting me to it.

Longislandicetee · 12/12/2016 08:22

Dry, i have learned that prints are things I admire and enjoy on other people like Mara.Grin

This week is going to be nuts. I haven't mentally prepared for the holiday, not sure i have sorted out Christmas properly yet and term ends on Wednesday. All from my bed. Xmas Shock

libertydoddle · 12/12/2016 08:39

I can totally see you in the McQueen dress Blingy. Sounds like a full on week for you.

Linus sounds like such a romantic proposal. And the police sound great! DD would love that.

Stokey · 12/12/2016 09:28

The DC break up at 2pm on the 21st Lib

May see if I can outsource them as it would be great to see you & Marsha

I'm extremely hungover after our friends Christmas lunch yesterday - it's in a friend's pub every year that she shuts for us, think we were 50 this year.

I need to go to town today & was planning to pop into &OS but may be too hungover.

Not quite as manic as Amber & Marsha but am out on Wednesday & Friday & having friends for dinner on Saturday.

Need to replenish my nurofen supplies
