I'm wondering what Melania gave Michelle. Rather big Tiffany's box I think...

shopafrolic · 20/01/2017 20:56

I wondered if it was a signed photo in a Tiffany frame Grin

libertydoddle · 20/01/2017 21:21

Of course!

littleredlipstick · 20/01/2017 21:42

I haven't seen any of the inauguration too busy napping Blush

Today I had a brain wave on how to store some handbags which are in dust bags. I have 2 "spare" wardrobes one has all my shoes inside and the other just has a rail.

I found a lot of coat hangers for trousers with the pinch clips at the top so used them to hang the dust bags (with bags inside) and hung them on the rail.

Stokey · 21/01/2017 08:17

Sounds like a good idea Littlered.

We're hoping to do an extension this year and part of that will involve me getting better storage I hope. Architect is coming to show us some drawings this week.

I avoided Trumptown. Instead watched carpool karaoke with Michelle Obama - what a woman getting down with Missy Elliot.

I am tempted to go on the march today but think the DDs are a bit young.

I got my &OS faux leather pleated midi skirt this week, I really like it.

libertydoddle · 21/01/2017 10:23

Oh exciting news on the extension Stokey, one of the things I am really looking forward to in a new house in NZ is better storage, boot rooms, laundry rooms and walk in wardrobes are fairly standard there. Like you, I'd like to go on the march today but DD is definitely too young and I have to study

libertydoddle · 21/01/2017 10:29

And in fashion news I have decided no shopping for 10 weeks (ie until weekend of MU). I have enough clothes for now and given the move to NZ it makes much more sense to spend on spring / summer clothes this year. Also I need to really get my head down study wise and browsing clothes sites and style blogs is my main avoidance activity so if I am not shopping then no good reason to browse. I've decided on a treat item for sticking to it as well and have stuck a picture of this item over my home work desk to keep me focused...please shout at me if I waiver over the next 10 weeks Smile.

queencerulean · 21/01/2017 11:31

Good luck lib. I'm telling myself the same -that I don't need any new clothes. But 3 weeks of no shopping, no booze and no chocolate/cake/biscuits has made me realise that I use them as a stress response. It's been a fairly stressful couple of weeks and I'm itching to either eat my body weight in chocolate, get totally shit faced or go shopping. I have a feeling that I may cave on one of them today....

libertydoddle · 21/01/2017 11:39

That's a lot to do at once QueenC - well done for sticking to it. Why don't you decide that you deserve a reward and go luxe on one really lovely thing ie a really nice (small) box of chocolates or better bottle of wine than you would usually get and think of it as your well earned reward for your discipline - if you binge on anything now you'll just end up feeling guilty when really you deserve a big pat on the back and to feel good about yourself Smile

queencerulean · 21/01/2017 11:52

Thanks lib. I decided that I'm drinking next weekend rather than waiting till 31st as it'll still be 4 weeks dry. I'm desperately trying not to eat sugar as even one small box may set me off on eating loads and I really feel better without it. But yes, maybe 3 weeks dry is enough. I'm sure I've got a nice Chablis in the fridge....

Longislandicetee · 21/01/2017 11:52

happy to yell Lib if you waiver!Grin But think it's a good idea.

Stokey fab on the extension! We did that the old house and while the work period was a pain the end result was awesome then we moved.

Much as i hate to admit it, Melania Trump's outfits were a triumph of simplicity and class yesterday.

Shop hope the party goes well today x

shopafrolic · 21/01/2017 13:53

Good idea no spenders. I do need some bits so won't join you but will shout as needed.
DS' party is next week Blingy He is at a friend's party tomorrow. He seems a lot better today but now DH is ill in bed puking at intervals. I am off to bleach the house.

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2017 17:44

Evening! I had a fashion fail today, bought some stuff from Zara didn't have time to try it on, tried it on at Aveda after hair cut, hated it and took it back one hour after I bought it. That'll teach me.

Tempted to have a glass of red, I haven't done dry Jan at all, impressive though.

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2017 17:53

Mn is soooo slow, painful

Longislandicetee · 21/01/2017 18:14

oh no!!! poor MrShopFlowers

Marsha even if its annoying, that's a very impressive turn around!!Envy

MarshaBrady · 21/01/2017 18:17

Blingy I was happy with that too! I couldn't bear going home to try it on and going all the way back in and the queues were so long I didn't have time to go to the fitting room. Over and done with tg!

shopafrolic · 21/01/2017 18:22

Marsha I keep thinking I'll try Zara - and that so many other people look good in it so it'll be ok. Without fail - everything gets returned (apart from the espadrilles last summer - and I should have sent them back as I never wore them)
Don't you remember the stylist who took me in there thinking I'd suit everything and ended up saying that I made Zara stuff look cheap? Grin
