Littlered I hope you feel better soon. So many awful lingering chest infections around Flowers

Larastheme · 15/01/2017 09:07

karcheer, is your bra size correct ? Band sizes from brand to brand are very inconsistent, specially European brands like eres and la perla, I'm a size 8 and I wear 34B in la perla comfortably, in agent provacteur I'm 32 D! I remember doing the bra measurment that was constantly on the S&B threads, and it was something like 30
My only advice is to go and try yourself ,never order online, selfridges new lingerie department us amazing, and you can try loads of brands and see for yourself, but stay away from myla and mimi, both are terrible, horrible quality and fit,

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/01/2017 09:19

That's a shame lib but you are right not to keep them if they don't feel right.

I'm getting sick of winter clothes now which is bad timing given the weather is meant to be artic next week. Though not much of the new stuff coming into the shops is appealing to me either. maybe just as well

Karcheer · 15/01/2017 10:23

Shop sorry, did I sound horrible? Really sorry if I did, didn't mean to. For a long time I've got everything from bravissimo I like their satine bras. I think I was just wistfully remembering my late 20s when I had a drawer full of la Perla.
A lot of brands high street and expensive ones start at 32.
lara maybe I'll just revisit them and try stuff on, I'm very lazy at actually trying on in store, prefer to order online and do it at home.
blingy will look at aubade.
Although In the cold light of day, maybe I should just get some new bravissimo ones :/.

Loved the velvet trainers. In wonder if the platform designers were winners of a primary school competition?

shopafrolic · 15/01/2017 10:40

A little blunt Karcheer. Thanks for the apology - appreciated :)
I went to Harrods lingerie department once but they just didn't accommodate for my sizing even when I was prepared to spend the ££.
I'd love to wear more sheer, lace and thin strapped bras but just not possible when you need a big cup size I think.

Karcheer · 15/01/2017 11:03

I'm so sorry, again. It's so easy to be blunt/short in replying when I'm on my phone, must try to reread and think how my replies sound, sorry.
I used to be in love with a brand called made by niki, they were quite small, I didn't realise that at the time, I think the first set I got was via fig leaves and then direct from their website, anyway in my hunt last night, found that they are closing down. the lady now does marketing for a premium car brand :/ I always figured there must be a gap in the market for more sheer lacy special occasion lingerie in bigger sizes, when you think of all the people having enlargement surgery. Guess not.

shopafrolic · 15/01/2017 11:26

All good Karcheer
Horrible wet weather here. What's everyone wearing? Am off for lunch at a friends' house. Am about to try the sequin sweatshirt on.

Karcheer · 15/01/2017 11:36

Yes it's raining heavily here too, I'm still in pjs and dressing gown and on my 3rd coffee.
Dh got back from a week away in the Far East at 5 this morning and is asleep. We are going to a local pub for Sunday lunch at 2, hope he's awake by then :/

Longislandicetee · 15/01/2017 11:48

Are you doing 30 day challenge Shop?

I did an Outnet order from my hospital bed yesterday. Bought cashmere track pants as I figure I will need thrm over next few weeks. Got this sparkly cashmere sweater as I quite liked the sparkles and this lbd which I can also wear at work or out with dh.

Not much happening chez Blingy, just lots of rest for me.

shopafrolic · 15/01/2017 12:10

No Blingy just trying to wear more of my stuff.
The ASOS sweatshirt is brill for me. Cheap as chips at £19 but brightens up a day like this perfectly. good transition from say to night. sequin sweat
DS is obsessed with stroking my arms Grin

littleredlipstick · 15/01/2017 12:27

Thanks for the well wishes Flowers I spent most of the night coughing so another chill out day. Started a Pinterest board for 2017 inspiration and started to watch call my agent.

Today's outfit is black leggings white long tshirt dress and blue and grey plaid shirt and slippersGrin

littleredlipstick · 15/01/2017 12:29

I wish there were more companies that made nicer under wear for larger sizes. I'm a gg cup and struggle to find pretty bras at reasonable prices.

kittyhello · 15/01/2017 12:47

Lovely purchases Blingy hope you're resting lots

Little can you link your pin? I need some 2017 inspo

Queen those Gucci things, yeuch Shock

Shop horrible weather here too, am in black slouchy Next harems, heatech vest, I now understand why they are a winter staple for Dry and grey Gap merino crew next jumper. Have got a North Face fleece over the jumper as despite whacking up the heating to max my house is quire cold, it 's old and draughty, brr

Stokey · 15/01/2017 15:08

I've got a filthy cold and haven't V left the house this weekend. Been in tracksuit bottoms and cashmere Vneck for the last two days, I've have cashmere tracksuit envy Blingy.

I'm the same size as you Karcheer, Freya and Panache do some very pretty bras. I did go to R&P before my wedding but they don't go under 30" back. They recommended buying one and altering it, which I was reluctant to do at £50+.

Hope you feel better soon Littlered

Hope the move went well One

Love the velvet trainers QueenC

Has anyone bought anything from Onjenu? They look like they have some nice stuff, velvet polos and funky jumpsuits, quite Boho/70s

Longislandicetee · 15/01/2017 15:36

Poor you StokeyFlowers

I managed to briefly get out of bed for dh to help me shower. I am wearing my grey superdry trackies with pink Gant lambswool sweater.

While I was up, I tried on some purchases that had arrived while I was away. The problem is that the operation and meds have made me bloated so it's probably the worse time to try on clothes! I will leave it another couple of days.

I did in the meanwhile buy an extra one of these sexy stockings Grin

Drywhitethanks · 15/01/2017 16:23

Littlered I know how you feel. I had the coughing virus over Christmas and had a headache for 4days, thought my head was going to explode. Poor you.

Queen you horrible enabler.....I had that top in my basket yesterday, then tried to be good.....guess what Grin

I just can't be arsed with 'pretty' underwear. Tried and failed, all too lacy for my taste - I like a smooth line and a good shape. Nice plain balconette bras from Freya are perfect for me. I wear the same M&S thongs every day. DH isn't interested in underwear anyway, he doesn't even look at it, just removes it!

I too have been ailing - some sort of flu-type virus - has really floored me. WFH most of last week but made the mistake of dragging myself in on Thurs which set me right back. I'm a shit patient. DH is making a fuss of me, which is sweet.

Ordered a boucle jacket last week which could be a disaster but let's see.

Drywhitethanks · 15/01/2017 17:54

My nails are ruined after Christmas .....a few years ago MN was going mad for a repair varnish product, can anyone remember what is was? Recommend something?

shopafrolic · 15/01/2017 18:17

Well wishes to all the poorly Voguettes.
This ASOS sweatshirt is brill. Feel fab in it. Wonder if it will wash well or if all the sequins will drop off Hmm

Drywhitethanks · 15/01/2017 18:39

Have ordered, thanks Shop

Quiet tonight. Was everyone watching Sherlock?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/01/2017 11:27

hello all!!

well, im here, arrived yesterday mid afternoon and am semi unpacked, clothes first of course Wink still plenty to do but at least i have clothes to wear and shoes to put on my feet! cat settled in beautifully at the cattery when we took her before we drove home (feels weird right now saying home!) and im going to give them a ring to make sure she's alright but if they'd had any problems i'm sure i would have heard from them, they took my number.

blingy glad you are home now and resting. Thanks

love to all

BerniceBobsHerHair · 16/01/2017 13:16

I'm here but feeling v uninspired fashion wise...hard when it is so grey and wet outside. OOTD is burgundy jumper dress with grey trainers.

I watched Sherlock but was quite underwhelmed.

I like the Whistles shirt QueenC linked for you Shop, like the mix of feminine ruffles with masculine tartan. Also like the sequin sweat.

Stokey hope you feel better soon. I sent the jumpsuit back in the end, it wasn't flattering on me. I loved the colour and feel of fabric though. Sure you will get good use out of it if you wore the s/s one a lot.

Blingy hope you are on the mend.

One how exciting!

I also have minor health woes as my stye has grown exponentially and is huge, red and painful.

Okay, am going to brave a walk in the rain with DD. Good days to all.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/01/2017 14:16

ouch bernice that sounds painful, i hope it clears up soon

feel better soon Stokey

i'm just pottering around putting away things as i find them. have cleared more space than i thought i had so pleased with that. just stopping for a coffee now and then ill see what else i can get done before dp gets home.

it's been a long long wait but i'm finally here, feels somewhat surreal right now tbh though. i'm sure that will pass in a few days though Smile

Everyonelovessparkles · 16/01/2017 16:23

one glad you have arrived ok and started the unpacking.

benice that sounds sore. Have you got something for it? I know how you feel about needing to get out, it rained all weekend here and I had to venture out even in the rain to avoid cabin fever.

stokey and amber hope you are both feeling a bit better too.

dry meant to say that oasis jumper you linked further up the thread is really pretty. Floral seems a big trend in the new season stock that is coming in.

Has anyone got any mascara recommendations? After trying so many I thought i had found my perfect mascara in max factors 'masterpiece max' but the last one I bought seems to keep flaking and has irritated my eyes so I'm wondering if they've changed the formula. Thanks Flowers
