Have removed my Fire Safety Wardens's hat Smile

Good question Blair
I like the simple Me and Em look for work, COS styling is similar (apart from the voluminous stuff)
I'll have to think what brand's style I like for going out.

Everyone a shame about the Whistles suede skirt. I'm finding it increasingly difficult finding work appropriate length skirts for me just above knee, not too short, not too long

Fedup I love that look you linked.

It's v cold again here. Was wanting to wear black loafers tomorrow but think it's too cold for no socks Shock

Justa sounds scary Flowers Hope she returns soon and recovers well.
I am on the train home. DS and I did Harrods, Hamleys, Liberty, and Covent Garden. He charmed all the ladies in Charlotte Tilbury and I got two new chameleon eye pencils and Very Victoria lipstick. DS spent about an hour and a half in Hamleys but has come away with all his Christmas money in the bank - nothing he liked enough to buy. He clearly doesn't take after me.
Dream we've just eaten at Sophie's Steakhouse (no idea about gin but a lovely tuna steak), and the Cote brasserie has been a favourite MU haunt. Have fun.

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2017 20:02

Oh Justa that must be hard, hope all is ok Thanks

Shop I love those, wonder how comfy they are. Will have to try some one at some point.

kittyhello · 04/01/2017 20:11

Justa wishing your dm a speedy recovery so she can fly home soon Flowers gorgeous boots, I love everything about them.

Wow Lib what a haul, some good buys in there, loved the boots, guess you're not doing 6 items this year Grin

Blingy hope all went well at the hospital

Bernice great haul too

Hello and welcome to lobster the ladies here have an excellent eye and dole out great fashion advice/tips

Blair I can't believe you're still waiting for your mac!

In answer to your question my high street brand is JCrew, with a bit of Gerard Darel and Massimo Dutti on the side Wink a higher end brand that's me would be Burberry but sadly it's out of my budget.

AmberNectarine · 04/01/2017 20:12

Sorry to hear that justa. Hope she makes a speedy recovery Flowers

Blair probably something like Maje. I love their stuff. Lots of animal print and studs amid the black, burgundys etc. Shoe-wise, maybe Sophia Webster. Honourable mention for Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang too.

First day back at work today. Wore the J Crew Cherry print shirt I wore to last MU under a fitted black crew neck jumper (collar, cuffs and shirt tails visible) with a black mini, opaques and my black Lowlands. Bag was Aspinal burgundy mini trunk. Dark red lipstick and a side fringe. Felt good in the outfit if not about going back. Never mind - tomorrow is my last working day of the week so I'll bear it!

Karcheer · 04/01/2017 20:16

I picked this up in a little boutique in my town today, I might need the sleeves ordered, but Its very cute, I think.

blair the dream me would be dressed entirely in saint laurent and Dior 🤔

Karcheer · 04/01/2017 20:16

Ordered - altered!

Karcheer · 04/01/2017 20:19

justa I can't imagine how worrying that was for you. Wish her a very speedy recovery!

MarshaBrady · 04/01/2017 20:19

Blair Proenza Schouler, Gianvito Rossi, Lanvin (shoes only most likely) and Saint Laurent, with some Maje and Marant thrown in would be fabulous

AmberNectarine · 04/01/2017 20:20

I have a very similar playsuit from Paul and Joe sister that I love to wear in the summer

MNV Volume 75......the Christmas edition
libertydoddle · 04/01/2017 20:22

That's so pretty Karcheer Smile

Justa how scary. Hope she is back home very soon. Great boots.

Definitely not doing 6 items kitty - V unlikely I will keep it all.

AmberNectarine · 04/01/2017 20:25

Heard today our buyers want to move in 4wks. Better get my shit together .

Am so in love with that house though. I keep sitting and staring at the pictures. Please god let it all go through!

libertydoddle · 04/01/2017 20:26

Blair tough question. Some Oscar de la Renta in my life would be good, some Chloe too! Back in the real world, Cos and Jigsaw with Russell and Bromley for shoes and bags meets most of my needs.

libertydoddle · 04/01/2017 20:26

Fingers crossed for you amber Smile

Lobster12345 · 04/01/2017 21:17

Thanks Bernice you've inspired me to do a big shoe order so I can try on loads of pairs at home with different things.

shopafrolic · 04/01/2017 21:25

Blair I missed your question at the bottom of the last page - sorry.
High st - Whistles for clothes, office for shoes
designer - Helmut Lang and YSL would be brill

justasecond · 04/01/2017 21:39

Thanks for all the well wishes for dm xx
Great choices lib I am sure you will find keepers amongst that haul.
Amber fingers crossed it all goes smoothly, the new house sounds lovely.
I always love Bernice's pins too!
I think the high st store most me is Cos. I have lots from there. Higher end I love Equipment jumpers and shirts and APC as well as Joseph. Having said that my worst purchase last year was a fine knit blush pink Joseph cashmere jumper that pilled horribly and snags really easily. Only worn a few times but looks fit for the bin!
I ordered a couple of things while I was gone
lk bennett loafers
silk shirt love this will wear with pale denim or black
I was worried the loafers might be a bit frumpy but they are actually better irl. They will do until I can afford Gucci!

Drywhitethanks · 04/01/2017 21:47

Justa just read your post, so sorry to hear that. Hope she recovers quickly.

I agree Shop about Office for high st shoes, and Dune fit me well too.

When I said Me and Em I meant the style, I don't own any apart from a layering shirt which is brilliant because it's huge.

Justa Flowers very sorry to hear about your mum and I wish her a speedy recovery x

So having popped on to me & em to get a basic or two, I ended up with 6 basics.Blush I blame Lib! I totally agree with Lib and Blair that they have lost their way on dresses.

FedUp, Next metallic Chelsea boots sounds very funky. Pity my shares in them have tanked.Hmm

Everyone, what a pity about that gorgeous skirt! I have tried to wear more skirts over the last year inspired by Dry but have had some spectacular fails because I have a curvy arse relative to the rest of me.

Amber, very exciting about your house! Everything crossed for you! Outfit sounded fab.

It was Mara that made me see the light that despite their image, Michael Kors dresses really are me, when I am doing casual or going out. Mouret, definitely the work me as is DvF and Armani. J Crew totally casual me!

Oh, like Blair, I have also bought the Burberry Kensington coat and am patiently awaiting its delivery!

Karcheer · 04/01/2017 21:59

blingy I've actually got more MK clothes than any other brand.

shopafrolic · 04/01/2017 22:03

Saw these sparkly beauties today so much more sparkly IRL. Love.

FedupNagging · 04/01/2017 22:05

Fingers crossed your dm is fit to fly soon Justa; very scary for you all. Nice loafers but couldn't open the silk shirt link.

It all sounds very exciting Amber - you'll have to get a wriggle on now sorting all your stuff!

I'm not sure I can think of a shop/brand that is 'really me' - I tend to buy bits and pieces from all over the place. I have had a fair few purchases from Jigsaw this year though and love J Crew although can't afford much from there (in the UK at least) High end, I am sure I could manage to fill a wardrobe with Chanel and Bruno Cucinelli.

Drywhitethanks · 04/01/2017 22:13

Love that style Shop

OP posts:
queencerulean · 04/01/2017 22:30

Good question blair altough I'm not sure of the answer! I tend to get bits from everywhere-gap features heavily in my wardrobe but also love some of the brands in JL-velvet, maison scotch, selected femme. Love topshop shoes for being on the right side of quirky. Also jigsaw boots. Coach for bags.

justa hope your dm continues to improve.

FedupNagging · 04/01/2017 22:40

Blingy The boots were an impulse buy, mmf, cost £30, really comfy and go with absolutely everything - go figure! Think we have shares too Sad

My go to brand for trousers is Boden petite but also have lots from Maison Scotch and Indi & Cold which always need hemming but otherwise are a great fit.
