Evening!

(((hugs))) to justa, I hope your DM is feeling better soon and able to fly home.

blair I think the brands that suit me best are Vanessa Bruno and Vanessa Bruno Athé (which I usually buy in the sales) and A.P.C.

If my budget was unlimited I'd spend most of it on Brunello Cucinelli but now I 'only' buy a couple of items a year.

Their cashmere is ££££ but the best I've ever bought. Virtually no pilling which is a pet hate of mine.

My navy Church's brogues arrived today and they are maybe half a size too big length wise but they are very narrow so fit snugly that way.

I will have to play around a bit with outfits I can wear them with and whether I wear socks or no socks.

Oh and I can guarantee DH will hate them as they are the same brand of brogues he prefers and likes me in more feminine shoes.

Stokey · 05/01/2017 09:26

Sorry to hear about your DM Justa, hope she improves enough to fly soon.

Mara got me spot on brandwise already. I do love Hush. High end I'd probably go for something a bit quirky like Kenzo or Vivienne Westwood.

&OS have some similar silver boots to the ones you linked Shop

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/01/2017 09:54

really sorry to hear about your Dm justa i hope she's back on her feet as soon as possible Thanks

i don't know that there's one particular brand that is 'me' i have a bit of this and a bit of that, i'm not loyal to any one retailer and never have been. higher end i'd probably opt for McQueen and Westwood which i'm sure is no surprise really.

maradesbois · 05/01/2017 12:53

Hello,

justa that sounds awful, must have been so stressful for you all, hope your dm is feeling a little better. Love the boots, I find IM shoes tts btw.

Can't narrow my style down to one dominant brand but the bulk of my wardrobe is equipment, APC and Marant. For bags my love of Goyard continues, already have my eye on a potential next one. My love for Marni has waned over the last couple of years, not feeling it like I used to. The dry cleaner refused to take the brown & black print dress I wore to last mu, said it was getting too fragile and she was scared would fall apart. If money were no object I would own a lot more Céline, Chanel and Loro Piana Smile.

Am trying to advance sort as much January stuff as I can before starting work. Heading out to track down Lego batman minifigures for ds's party bags. Haven't been near a shop apart from food ones since mid-December. Got rid of the Christmas tree this morning by tying the bastard up in an old duvet and bin bags to minimise needle drop but still filled a whole Hoover bag cleaning up. Every year I think how difficult it must be to dispose of a body when a 6ft tree gives so much grief!

Have my eye on a couple of things in NAP sale now that the discounts are finally getting interesting but nothing I can't live without so holding on a little longer.

maradesbois · 05/01/2017 13:03

Linus your church's sound fab. My dh is the opposite, loves me in brogues and mannish stuff like the Marant prince of wales check trousers but indifferent to bordering on not keen on stuff like stilettos

Larastheme · 05/01/2017 13:47

Oh justa hope your DM is better now, its must have been worrying for you, love your boots, I find marant to be tts, but they take ages to break into,
I made a promise not to buy anything in sales, but some items I was lusting after we're further reduced and as they were classic I couldn't resist not get them,
This might take more than one post as I can't insert more than one link,

blouse

Larastheme · 05/01/2017 13:50

the best black trousers ever seriously these are just so flattering ,I have two other pairs and couldn't let this one go,

Larastheme · 05/01/2017 14:25

Our wifi was down for a while ,so frightening Grin
linus I agree , BC cashmere is the best, so warm, if only they did more interesting coats, I have a down jacket that I absloutely love, but would love something more city appropriate for example and not Italian country estate luxe,
mara for a long time Marni, prada , were the go to label for eccentric, playful, not in your face proactive , while still looking ladylike clothes, but I figure as this is the direction of most brands now days, looking at you gucci , they somehow lost the plot, and look so recycled and just so overshadowed,
an interesting brand is vivetta, prices are not crazy ,would say on par with marant, gorgeous dresses and blouses with whimsical designs, really think you would like it,

Everyonelovessparkles · 05/01/2017 16:06

Sorry to hear about your DM justa. Hope she's feeling better soon.

I know dry, I like skirts to be on the knee whereas so many are just too long or too short. The whistles skirt wasn't really short, but was just an inch or two shorter than I like.

I'm not sure I have a 'go to' brand any more whereas 10-15 years ago I would have said oasis and Karen millen, as virtually everything I had was from there.

Hope the trench arrives soon blair.

Good luck with the house stuff amber. The one tip I have from when we moved is that packing always takes way way longer than you think. Unless you get people to pack for you. Smile

I had a mini sort out this morning and got rid off the gold dune sandals and black dress I mentioned as my duff buys from 2016, as well as a couple of other things I was holding onto for no particular reason. It was quite cathartic and made me realise that at the moment the only gaps I can see in my wardrobe are summer sandals and new bikini / costume. I wonder how long it will last though Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/01/2017 16:45

High five Blingy on the coat!

I don't think it's looking good for mine though. Unless it's because the website is overloaded with orders in the sale, nothing has been happening with my order which seems odd. It just says processing which apparently doesn't even mean I've entered into a contract to purchase. I'm almost expecting to get an email saying there's been a stock error or something Hmm

AmberNectarine · 05/01/2017 17:30

Exciting news of the day is that I'm going to be on TV. Nothing wildly exciting (unless you're into intellectual teatime game shows) but I'm pleased!

FedupNagging · 05/01/2017 19:00

Ooo how exciting Amber, do tell... (whispers I have a quote on the MN swears by)

Blair I have everything crossed for you but it's been a while. Can you chase up?

I am meeting up with gf's tonight, cocktails may be involved - am supposed to be only drinking at the weekend - as I am not working tomorrow, I guess my weekend starts now Grin

Karcheer · 05/01/2017 19:08

amber how cool!!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/01/2017 19:08

Ooh Amber Eggheads or Pointless? We love Pointless!

It appears I may have been a bit of a wally with the coat. Should have done more due diligence. Ordered from Flannels, which I thought was an online boutique like The Dressing Room, only with a few more shops. Turns out it's actually a subsidiary of Sports Direct and they have horrendous recent reviews - people not getting stuff, not being able to get through to phone helpline, not getting refunds etc etc. I paid by credit card, so worst case scenario is I should get my money back eventually if it goes tits up, but there is still a chance it'll be ok I guess. You can't cancel orders online so I'd have to ring up, so I'm going to see what happens. Please keep everything crossed that I'm not the next victim of Mike Ashley!! Angry

Longislandicetee · 05/01/2017 20:51

Blair I feel bad for saying this but my coat arrived. Massive fingers crossed for you. Flowers

Amber ooooh is it pointless?

FedUp how exciting what was your quote?

MNV Volume 75......the Christmas edition
libertydoddle · 05/01/2017 21:10

oh shit Blair Angry. How annoying. Really hope you get it.

Amber you have got to tell us!!!

Well done Fedup Smile

Lara I adore that blouse and those trousers do look perfect.

Jigsaw order has arrived....
Jacket - perfect shape and fit. I'm wondering if the shade is slightly cool toned for me - going to have a really good look at it in proper daylight tomorrow. Hoping it's a keeper as I really need a new work jacket and shape wise it will work with lots of my workwear.

Boots are great too. Lovely colour and feel very comfy on and good on my chunky calves. Again will have a proper trying on session with them tomorrow before making final decision.

Scarf Colour, drape and chunkiness all perfect but feels scratchy so will return as I'll never wear anything that itches.

libertydoddle · 05/01/2017 21:11

Gorgeous coat Blingy Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/01/2017 21:33

Oh Blingy don't be silly! Just glad I helped you finally decide to go for it. It's gorgeous!! :) :)

Lib sounds promising so far, I love the jacket for you.

Everyonelovessparkles · 05/01/2017 21:57

Fingers crossed for you blair. I remember the flannels shop in Manchester years ago when it probably was independent. Didn't know it had been bought by mike Ashley! Though given his wife is on RHOCheshire with all the WAGS, I'm not surprised.

It is a lovely coat though blingy. Glad you finally went for it!

Shame about the scarf lib but better to return than never wear. Hope the jacket works out for you.

Hope you had a good time fedup. Thursday is the end of my working week too do I treated myself to a large g&t. No dry January here Grin

Ooh exciting amber!

Glad you had a good day yesterday shop and that minishop enjoyed himself.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 05/01/2017 22:06

apologies if i'm absent more than here for the next week and a bit. so so much to do and sort so i've not got much time for anything really but i will be back full time again when my move is complete!

LinusLovesBretons · 05/01/2017 22:24

I love those trousers lara and I am tempted but I don't really need any dressy black trousers.

Have fun tonight fedup

The trench looks great blingy and blair I really hope yours turns up too. Fingers crossed!

And yes lib, send the scarf back! I am feeling itchy just reading that it's scratchy.

mara surprisingly, when I showed DH the brogues last night he really liked them. He hasn't seen me wearing them though. Wink

I wore them with my Fling boyfriend jeans and a cashmere jumper today but I really would like to try them with a dress.

I will probably look like Miss Jean Brody but it's worth a try.

Drywhitethanks · 05/01/2017 22:33

Fingers crossed for you Blair that's news to me about Flannels

Amber that's so exciting......can't wait to hear what you'll be wearing on screen!

LinusLovesBretons · 05/01/2017 23:48

these are the brogues I bought.

AmberNectarine · 06/01/2017 08:24

Not Pointless or Eggheads - the one with the big clock!

libertydoddle · 06/01/2017 09:04

Really Amber!!!! I'm impressed. You have to let us know when it's aired so we can watch it.
