afternoon all! have been in hospital this morning and have to go back again tomorrow to see my consultant. I have to go back tomorrow to discuss test results. Loved my outfit and and was annoyed it was wasted on a hospital visit!Grin

Hello Lobster! You're very welcome, especially if you're bag hunting.Grin

Lib as someone who has become a very good friend I have decided to ignore the fact that you're moving to the other side of the world to get away from me. HmmGrin

Shop I thought the same as Lara about Star wars but it's massively the in thing in ds' class. Dh and ds have done lots of the Lego star wars but ds definitely needed a ton of help.

Merriboo · 03/01/2017 15:32

im hopeless at clearing out/de cluttering my own stuff 😔 Find it so difficult to let things go...
Lobster everyone here is lovely, even to lurkers like me (stalked since vogue 34 and only recentl pay got around to posting!) I love the support and encouragement that is the heart of MNV.
One love the bag fund plan!
Lib exciting times, must seem surreal that it's nearly here?
Karcheer I like the suggestion of playing around with colours and styles for now, rediscover yourself.
Glorious sunny day if a little cold. Back in our hotel to chill for a bit- they have a spa with a sauna, steam room and jacuzzi (but that's could be warmer) then out for a fondue later. Much as I adore skiing, it's soooo bad for the waistline- everything is getting tighter by the minute!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/01/2017 16:35

Shop my DS (who isn't much older than yours) likes Star Wars lego too.

Blingy I've missed your illness, I hope you get better soon.

shopafrolic · 03/01/2017 16:48

MiniShop loves Lego too - Star Wars, vehicles, Lego Avengers and Lego Dimensions on Xbox - but I end up building it all - he just plays with it. Grin
We'll head in mid morning, have lunch and then hit Hamleys and take it from there. Meeting DH for an early dinner after he finishes work.
Not sure what to wear - so cold today!
Piercing is just an existing one that I want reopened, and possibly one more that I would take their recommendation on. Will see once I know how much they charge - the piercing costs seem reasonable but you have to buy their jewellery and I can't see it on the website at the moment to know starting prices. We'll see. I won't get it done tomorrow - don't want to freak DS out Grin
Meriboo the whole lurking thing makes me Smile I can't believe we're that interesting? Glad you joined the fun.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/01/2017 17:08

Betty I meant to say I do like those trainers, looks like an interesting website, though I have my Next leopard boots now so will see how I go with those haven't worn them yet

BerniceBobsHerHair · 03/01/2017 17:09

Kitty!! Gah, I always do that!

Stokey · 03/01/2017 17:37

Thanks Bernice, I actually ordered the green one with the 20% discount as was worried it wouldn't be in the sale. It arrived today - i think it's a keeper though need to try it on in the light of day. I really like your brogues & finery skirt, the brogues look more silver in the photo.

I also ordered the Amie joggers as a friend had the Star print ones which are lovely and warm. They're oos so thought would try these - was about to send them back as they're quite thin, similar material to their harems - but tried them on and they're suprisingly flattering, although too big. I'd recommend but size down - think a M is 12-14.

Sauna, jacuzzi, fondue - not jealous at all Meriboo! I braved soft play thinking it may be quiet as we had inset day, no, hell on earth.

Thought I'd scratched my starry boot itch but then saw these Valentino ones and fell in love again.

Lobster12345 · 03/01/2017 18:56

Thanks for the welcome. I work in the City so it's fairly smart and I'm OK with that. I wear a lot of black. Quite minimalist and like stream lined things. Don't like flounces or frills or flowers. At the weekend I just feel a bit messy. I've tried to figure out what it is and I think it's the shoes! I wear heels pretty much all the time for work but I struggle with finding the right flat shoes for weekends. I end up feeling scruffy if I wear trainers, and my feet look massive in other types of flat shoes. I'm 5ft 9 with size 7-8 feet. I'm 40, size 12 on top,14 at the bottom, have really long legs, short body, zero boobs, and shop pretty much always online.

What do others with larger feet wear on their feet at weekends?

littleredlipstick · 03/01/2017 19:26

Hi Lobster it's great in here I love the chat and inspiration between everyone. Sorry can't help with footwear as I have size 3 feet.

First day back at work today the alarm going off at 5.30 was a nasty shock!
Wore my new Tiffany necklace layered with some silver necklaces from new look, about time I started finishing off outfits with accessories.
My new bag liner/organiser has arrived for my work bag so tonight I will be sorting my bag out while I cook some healthy soup for work need to lose the weight I put on last year.

libertydoddle · 03/01/2017 19:28

Welcome Lobster. Would you not wear heeled ankle boots at the weekend? Little bit smarter than trainers while still being casual?

I'll probably drive you all so mad with my leaving plans and jitters this year that it will be a massive relief all round when I finally go!

Bernice I love the gold brogues... v, v tempted but have bought enough today...

So shopping my last winter sales (well it's a good excuse for a blow out Wink) have opted for the following...

Jigsaw jacket
Jigsaw biker boots
Jigsaw scarf
Boden dress
Boden jumper in Oceanic
Boden summer dress
Me and Em cable jumper in soft white
Me and Em dress
Me and Em black joggers

Still thinking about another few items but that's enough on the CC for now. Will have a few days of nagging from DH when it all turns up sigh

Karcheer I remember we were both diagnosed autumn at the same time - both of us equally annoyed but it was the right diagnosis for me and I have mostly embraced it. I think losing black is very difficult especially for work or dressy or very trendy / chic looks. To have enough work wear I have had to buy navy and sometimes warm grey. I also do wear black jeans and skirts etc.

libertydoddle · 03/01/2017 19:31

Oops forgot also ordered this skirt and jacket from Hobbs Blush I may have gone slightly overboard

LinusLovesBretons · 03/01/2017 19:36

shop DS (same age as yours) loves Star Wars Lego as well. We bought him some items as of 7 or 8 years old and he does need some help but manages most by himself if he's in the mood to sit still long enough

DD loves lego too but she prefers to build things using her own imagination instead of following the instructions. And I refuse to buy her the 'pink' lego kits. I don't know why but they just annoy me.

Last time I went into Hamleys (a couple) of years ago now, I was shocked at the lack of choice and the bad quality.

It used to be the shop to go to to find unusual toys and games and I remember my parents talking about it long after they visited on a trip to London in the Eighties.

I agree with lara, Harrods have a great toy department and if you avoid Saturdays and holidays it's not too busy.

The DC went back to school today so today has been spent doing all the chores that are difficult to manage with small kids wanting attention.

Welcome to all the Newbies! MNV is a great place to hang out so do stay!

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 19:38

Lib what a blow out well done Grin! Going to look at links now...

Lobster welcome, we love newbies, I have size 7 feet and only wear the most comfortable shoes on the weekends, I used to wear pettys or pistols but I have downgraded to black trainers! I know not hugely stylish but if I am feeling slinky energetic enough it feels ok and I can bounce around town or whatever I'm doing quickly and easily.

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 19:42

Linus I don't blame you on the pink lego.

We have so much lego it's not funny, and yes lots of Star Wars lego and other very cool looking stuff (imo). I remember ds had a friend whose parents bought him the death star, and they spent a week building it - well the dad did, the cost of that is something else. Luckily we diverted from that one.

First day back at work, was better than I thought it would be. Quiet, and quite relaxing and did lunchtime gym and back to the nice lunchtime food - felt good.

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 19:43

Bernice lovely stuff for you, will look great, are you back at work this week?

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 19:47

Great shopping Lib I love how good you are at buying your style and colours. Looking forward to knowing what your favourites are

Lobster12345 · 03/01/2017 19:54

Liberty I love those boots you've bought. Would you wear them with skinny jeans? I struggle to get the boots and jeans thing looking right. I find jeans sort of sit on the top of the boot making the jean not look long enough or making it looking bulky.

Marsha I think I need to find some sleeker less bulky black ones so they look more streamlined than the ones I have

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 20:04

Libs links have led me to the Me & Em site, I really like this - but still quite expensive.

What do you think is it as nice as I think it could be, or just ok? And not worth the ££

silk shirt

I love that it looks slinky, rather than bulky in any way, and no pockets. I would wear without the tie.

libertydoddle · 03/01/2017 20:40

Marsha I debated that shirt too, I decided against as I always find white / cream silk a bit sheer and I thought that one looked slightly sheer in the picture. But it's lovely. It is slightly pricey but I find that plain silk shirts generally never get reduced as much as other things.

libertydoddle · 03/01/2017 20:43

Lobster yes I will wear the boots (if they are keepers) with indigo skinnies. I agree jeans need to be very tight to avoid the bunching you describe. I'll report on the fit. I'll also wear them with tights and skirts.

shopafrolic · 03/01/2017 20:46

Lobster I have size 7 feet too. Size 12. Long legs. I wear my Acne Pistols, Isabel Marant Crisi, or Office Jagger boots, or trainers. all on Pin

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 20:48

Oh my goodness I forgot my Marant boots. Where the hell are they?! Need to locate

MarshaBrady · 03/01/2017 20:49

True on the sheerness Lib, always a bit of a faff

shopafrolic · 03/01/2017 20:52

That's a shop and a half Lib - lovely things Smile

shopafrolic · 03/01/2017 20:53

Such great boots Marsha find them!
