Happy new year everyone! Hope it's a good one.
Sounds like everyone has had a nice Christmas break.
Congratulations mara on the internship, what great news to start the new year.
Congratulations on selling the house too amber and for your new addition to the family.
Glad you got your tooth sorted dry and are pleased with your eyebrows.
blingy take care of yourself. Glad you had a nice break and enjoyed coming home to a Christmassy house. I think Christmas can sometimes bring out the worst in DC as my two were a bit overwhelmed by everything at times.
Great news on the trench blair, I hope it fits.
I'm not surprised about gap either, they used to do the basics really well but the stores are just like jumble sales now and their website is dreadful. The kids stuff is nice. I remember being really pleased when BR finally came to the UK but then never bought anything from there as it always seemed expensive but not great quality and a lot of stuff seemed to be dry clean, so I have to looked in there for years.
Haven't really done much perusing of the sales as have been away for the wedding, which was nice and I was pleased that I went with my existing outfit rather than get something I'll probably never wear again. Also I can't think of anything I need so keeping away rather than buying for the sake of it.
Went round to some friends for drinks last night which was nice, wore a black and blue monsoon dress and black Swarovski bracelet.
My best buy of 2016 were my straight slim jeans from gap. Love the fit and have worn them every week, but it seems virtually impossible to get another pair.
Worst buys were probably my gold wedge sandals from dune, I knew when I bought them that they were a bit sore round the ankle but thought they would soften up. Instead I cut my ankle to ribbons on the 2 occasions I wore them. Should have just sent them back. Also a black dress with a white and grey pattern that i ordered in the sale thinking it would be really useful, turns out its not.
My learning from 2016 is also about accessories lifting an outfit which I can look a but more together even with something casual. Also, I have finally learnt to buy items for my current lifestyle rather than just things I like but totally impractical for my lifestyle.
My resolution for 2017 is not to be attracted by a bargain if it's something I don't really need and to continue to make more considered purchases.
