Lipstick challenge for January

Don't worry, its not a 'thing' - you don't have to post photos on Facebook or get sponsorship for charity. Just something I'm planning to brighten up a dull January

The idea is that you wear a different lipstick / lipgloss every day through January. I'm planning to stick all of mine in a big box and do a 'lucky dip' every morning. It will be a bit of fun (in a slightly pathetic way) and will be interesting to see which lipsticks I get excited about pulling out and which I'm maybe not that fond of anymore

Those Pupa lippies look lovely! Fortunately for my wallet I don't think they sell the brand anywhere near me.

Today's offering: M&S Rosie for Autograph (aka the "I Can't Believe It's Not Charlotte Tilbury" knock-off range) lip shine in Rose Bud. It's a nice MLBB colour and the texture is great - like Chantecaille Lip Chic but better. Keepsies, I think.

I love the look of the Rosie stuff, I saw a make up tutorial using the skin glowy stuff! I've never used Pupa before, I bought my first item about 6 months ago, I now have a bit of a collection on the go. The nail varnishes are good too!

My lippy for today, same lipstick as yesterday, eye liner MUA Berry Wine. I've just been and bought four MUA lip liners. Red Drama, Brooding Plum, Dark Thistle and Sloe Berry. They all go with lipsticks I've got already.

Ah this thread has really cheered me up! Stuck in bed with a virus, looking and feeling like a manky old potato.

I love lipstick, everything from Mac to Tom Ford. I have at least 50. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any more until at least spring.... Anyway, that didn't last long .

I brought 2 Charlotte Tilbury ( Bitch Perfect & Coachella Coral). Lancôme ( Rose Nu) & Chanel ( Mademoiselle).

In my defence I had no Lancôme lipsticks in my collection! I must sort through all of them and let go of the ones I don't reach for (mostly the Mac & Clinique). I must start wearing more reds & the brighter colours. I have a habit of doing to much on the eye and it looks too much with a bright/red lip.

Oh Lancôme are great, I've got rock n roll fuchsia. It's a blue toned pink but kind of shows through with a metallic colours. I love it. My first Lancôme lippy. I bought it about 4 years ago. It's beautiful.

Came to this late and I'm pretty sure I don't have 31 lipsticks but I think I'll try and wear a new/different item of makeup each day in Feb. I bet I have 28 and I bet half of them are just not me.

Serious question - do you think that Tom Ford lipsticks are worth the (frankly jaw dropping) price? I know they are things of great beauty but is the product actually up to much?

I have 3 Tom Ford lipsticks. Two were gifts. Hmmm are they worth it? Gorgeous gift, however just between us I don't wear them enough to justify the price tag. I wouldn't part with them though.

Left-right, Indian Rose ( which is my favourite) First Time ( this one I had 'lipstick lust' for ages) & Pink Dusk.

I really must start to giving my lipsticks more of an equal opportunity, once I'm better

Buster That lipstick looks so pretty. I think it's discontinued though. I've probably also got about ten dupes for it. Bright fuchsia with blueish shimmer is one of my favourite colours.

Lotta Tati (a person on YouTube I watch loads of) did swatches of all of the Tom Ford metallic lipsticks, and I was mentally checking off the Revlon lipsticks I thought looked similar, then Googled them. Bingo! I'm almost a reverse lipstick snob. She did also say the formula of that particular range wasn't great.

There's the link, she does say she loves Spanish Rose, but they are so expensive! Yay, someone who knows who Tati is! I must admit the first time I watched one of her videos I didn't like her, but then I watched a few more and she grew on me and now I love her. I love that she reviews everything, she's not snobby about make up one bit.

Snap! She is my go to on YT. Oh and a recent discovery is Sharon Farrell- she has a lovely manor and not snobby either :)

Has anyone had a spendy lipstick mistake? I brought Dose Of Colors liquid lipstick ' bare with me' really isn't my shade. Worn it twice... thinking of playing with a slightly darker lipliner but in the same colour spectrum, to get some wear out of it.

I think my spendy mistake was Chanel Rouge Noir lipstick, nice but a weird one. Too brown on me and quite sheer.
Sapphire don't tell Rock n roll fuchsia is discontinued, I've not had the same effect with any other lipstick. It's SO beautiful 😍

Oh no Buster, I've just ordered that, i couldn't resist!
I'm wearing a lovely mac MLBB today but the sticker's peeled off and there's hardly any left so I don't know how to replace. I'll have to brave the Mac counter, but they're always so busy and dimly lit that I grab something ASAP and make spend mistakes.

If you have days when you normally wear little/no makeup (I tend to wear nothing, or maybe BB cream and mascara on days off work) do you pair lipstick with this?
Or do you wear a bit more?
I feel a bit odd with really bright lips and an almost bare face. But I CBA to do a full face!

Drspouse I think natural make up and bright lips is a great look, though I never practice it as I get carried away! 😂

Drspouse imo if you have bright lips and bare face make sure your eyebrows are good to balance it out!

I caved in yesterday and ordered a new Mac lippy.
This will take my total up to 52.

P.S. DH got my old faithful Clinique chubby stick Super Strawberry for me for Christmas, or thought he did, but he didn't pay attention and got the wrong shade. So he changed it yesterday. So even though I'm home with the DCs I will go and put some on now I think.

Buster I got my ticket to see Evanescence!
Yes it is, it was a limited edition lipstick, which is a shame as I googled it and it is STUNNING! I'm going to go through my stash to see if I have anything similar. I also think Urban Decay might have something similar.
(When I go and see Evanescence I will probably be wearing bright pink lipstick as it's Amy Lee's fault I started wearing it in the first place! )

I've never had any spendy mistakes. My cheap-arse make-up mistakes have been via Avon, as the pictures they have in the catalogues bear no resemblance to the colour you actually GET, and MUA lipsticks, as they smell like cheap coconut bubble bath and it makes me feel sick, and any other lipsticks that have a weird sickly scent, so that's the range of scented lipsticks Avon did, and the Barry M moisturising lipsticks in the pink tubes. Bleaugh.

Haven't decided what to wear yet, so I'll get back to you with the lipstick I'm wearing later.

I'm wearing an odd mauve lip and cheek tint free in a beauty box. Not sure. Nice colour but odd taste and not very nice to put on. Perhaps would work on top of another as you guys have inspired me!

I have a Tom Ford lipstick. Smoke red which is a cerise- red. Bought about 5 years ago and comes out at xmas although inspired to wear more regularly by you guys! Great lipstick and smells good too. They offered a glass of champagne when I bought it in house of Fraser all those years ago. But £27 as it was then hmmmmm? Not sure.
