Did anyone else get a beauty advent calendar? I got a Selfridges one and am stupidly excited about opening the first door tomorrow! Anyone else?

Hand cream is my fave so far. Hoping it's a good one for tomorrow.

The acid peel is ok, but my skin has felt tight all day. If you do use it I wouod slather cream on afterwards. It's not dry as in flaking, but tight. I only had it on for 10 mins. I certainly wouldn't buy it.

Whocansay · 05/12/2016 21:22

I got Urban Decay make up fixer today. I didn't know there was such a thing! What am I supposed to do with it?!?!

whocan I love the UD fixer spray, you use it after applying make up to set everything. Apply it before mascara though so it doesn't make your make up run. Great product

Today I have used the hand cream, put on the acid peel before a shower and then applied the hair oil after my shower. Used the brow gel after doing my makeup. I think I'm obsessed Grin re the josh wood hair oil not sure about it yet, hair doesn't look or feel any different tbh, I might go and slather some more on. It smells lovely though the smell doesn't last. On the fence with today's offering

Lupinlady5 · 05/12/2016 22:35

I've just done my toes with the liberty polish - lush!

SymphonyofShadows · 06/12/2016 08:58

Pleased with the M&S thing today, the No7 thing is quite good too

MyWitlessPal · 06/12/2016 09:04

I can't use that liquid liner. Wish I could but it just goes wonky.

Suspect I'm too old for it now as well.

I've loved everything else though. The chemical peel is fab!

Itscurtainsforyou · 06/12/2016 09:05

Has anyone else been really disappointed with the Aldi advent calendar?

mouldycheesefan · 06/12/2016 09:06

I am disappointed with th clarins one, too much cleanser and exfoliation, 4 out of the 6 days so far. It was expensive and I wouldn't get it again.

SymphonyofShadows · 06/12/2016 09:54

I've just realised that I've got loads of eyeliners now. I got the Soap & Glory makeup set on the Boots star deal and the Clinique £10 deal with the free samples so I may have to gift one.

mowglik · 06/12/2016 10:18

Happy with today's eyeko liquid liner as I was looking for a new eyeliner to replace my gel liner. I actually got a new no 7 one on sun as a gwp but this one seems seriously smudgeproof when I tried it on my hand. Love the super thin tip

Going to do one eye with no7 and one eye with eyeko liner and see how it fares.

Stitchosaurus · 06/12/2016 10:56

Just painted my nails with Liberty's offering from yesterday, gorgeous Christmassy colour!
Today's Liberty one is brilliant, just what I needed for parched winter skin. Very happy with it all so far.

Talisin · 06/12/2016 11:11

Itscurtains, yes! It's really rubish - more like some sort of teeny tiny chemistry set than skin care. Glad I have the M&S one as my main calendar.

Strawberryfield12 · 06/12/2016 19:48

Thanks to Liberty this morning I ended up googling what was foundation primer Blush Only had knowledge of decorating related primer Grin. It's a whole science out there...

Lupinlady5 · 06/12/2016 19:51

I was pleased when I saw the primer, but I tried it this morning and it makes my skin look dreadful!

PenguinsandPebbles · 06/12/2016 19:56

I've just done my toes with the liberty polish - lush!

It's gorgeous!! And the hand cream is amazing.

DP looks at me like this every morning

Confused Hmm what is it face

As I do the grand reveal of the next item! I love my calander so much :) and was a complete surprise!

MyDogEatsBalloons · 06/12/2016 21:10

I'm disappointed in my Selfridges one - yesterday was some blotting sponge sheet thing, and today was an eyebrow brush. I want creams and serums and smelly stuff! (There had been some hair product, and the whizzy mini face thingy that looks like a hi-etc vibrator).

Needastrongone · 06/12/2016 21:22

I'm a big fan of the M&S one so far, apart from today, which was gifted and well received by DD. Love the peel, the hand cream, hair oil, only used the face cream once so too soon to tell.

The Sanctuary one is great too, if you discount the paper clip in yesterdays door! Heel cream this morning, lovely.

Strawberryfield12 · 06/12/2016 22:04

I do like idea about the beauty advent calendar, I will definitely do one (or two!) next year. For somebody who's morning make-up routine usually is limited to eyeliner, mascara and occasional tinted fluid, it's fairly educational. (primer!!!) Actually there are soooo many people raving about the M&S one, that I am quite jealous. :)

AndNowItsSeven · 07/12/2016 00:09

The Aldi one was reduced to £12 in my local store. I have no 7 and prefer it to last years benefit one.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 07/12/2016 07:46

Really happy with the product today in the liberty calendar - love trying new essentials. But 14g!! The normal 22g is £8.50 on the liberty website so I'd expect a similar volume!

SymphonyofShadows · 07/12/2016 07:55

I'm a bit meh about today's M&S offering. Only because I've had it before in the Jubilee beauty box they did, but I am doing some crackers for a pre-christmas friends meal so anything I don't want is going in them.

Boots confused me for a moment this morning, I couldn't find today's window, then I realised! In my defence, it was a bit early.

I'm pleased with both M&S and Sanctuary offerings today.

mowglik · 07/12/2016 08:54

Good item in today's M&S I used to use this brand a lot but now use biore. Still it's a good handbag size will keep it for back of hands and arms

I'm about ready for a lipstick or lipgloss now Grin

mowglik · 07/12/2016 08:56

Re Aldi I'm finding it a bit meh as well - it's the same few serums repeated... different poducts would have been more exciting. Still it's a good staple product so I've been slathering it on everywhere inc boobs as there is so much in the vial for one day Grin
