Beauty Advent Countdown!

Did anyone else get a beauty advent calendar? I got a Selfridges one and am stupidly excited about opening the first door tomorrow! Anyone else?

Exactly Jemima, it's getting me to try lots of new products, which was the idea for me. They have to be generic to a certain degree, but will have a target audience based on research of demographic maybe?

Today I'm a bit 'meh' about the M&S, but only because it's not a product I specifically use (DD will), and chuffed with the Sanctuary one.

And I'm still bloody glad I've done the beauty calendar thing for the first time!

Stitchosaurus · 04/12/2016 08:55

Haven't tried Liberty day four yet, will use it tomorrow. Smells nice and I like the brand but slightly meh about the product. Small too so will probably just get a few uses out of it.

BrillianaHarvey · 04/12/2016 09:45

Really excited by today's Space NK gift - love a good facial oil. Can't use the Liberty one as not sulphate-free.

mowglik · 04/12/2016 10:01

Was there a space NK calendar? Very happy with today's M&S offering again, I'm constantly brushing my brows up so this is exactly what I need. Will try it out today. I've been using everything else so far as well, feeling very pampered this month so far Grin

I'm saving the boxes for DHs birthday I'm going to wrap up small presents leading up to his birthday..

BrillianaHarvey · 04/12/2016 11:47

The Space NK one was gift with purchase. As I always spend a lot there at Christmas it seemed to good to miss!

JemimaMuddledUp · 04/12/2016 12:29

I'm more pleased with the eyebrow stuff than the wrinkle one. I use eyebrow gel already.

Whocansay · 04/12/2016 13:43

I got Lancôme make up remover yesterday and Lancôme Hypnose mascara today. Am really pleased as I use both and are very handy travel sizes.

I am SO doing this again next year!
And am very jealous of the posters that were clever enough to buy more than one!

We have the same calendar o

Germgirl · 04/12/2016 22:49

I have the pink selfridges one. Yesterday was a vibrating face cleansing rubber pad thingy and today some Elasticizer who hoeing use bit will give to dsd as she has very tangly hair. I also have the M&S one & have loved every day so far :)

Germgirl · 04/12/2016 22:50

"Which I won't use".
What the hell is "who hoeing use"?

kally195 · 05/12/2016 06:42

Ooh - today's M&S offering is wrapped in tissue paper!

kally195 · 05/12/2016 06:49

I love today's. I have coloured hair, so am keen to try this out. Smells lovely, too.

Guitargirl · 05/12/2016 06:52

I have bought my mum the Charlotte Tilbury one so I will be living vicariously through her advent. Except she hasn't started yet as it's a 12 days of Christmas one - not 24 doors. My dad on the other hand is giving me a daily update on his whisky one!

Finbar · 05/12/2016 07:05

Ooh M&S - another winner!

Ingles2 · 05/12/2016 07:13

I'm not sure today's gift is suitable for my hair, but am more than happy to give it a go! Smile

EarlGreyTeaPlease · 05/12/2016 07:33

DD is really not impressed with today's item from her sanctuary advent calendar!

mowglik · 05/12/2016 08:00

Love today's M&S one, it's right up my street, I love oils and already use L'Oréal extraordinary hair oil. I have coloured hair too and this seems to have good reviews so will give this a try after I've washed my hair today. I think tomorrow's will be makeup Grin (that's a guess btw I haven't peeked)

CocktailQueen · 05/12/2016 10:03

Me neither, EarlGrey. Hey ho; it's been fab so far.

Strongbeatsskinny · 05/12/2016 15:26

I didn't post yesterday's so I'll update mine wooden draws held Ogx shampoo and conditioner travel sized ones. They've gone straight into my gym bag.

Got a lovely surprise of my bestie too she's only gone and given me the M&S one when we exchange presents.

maggiso · 05/12/2016 15:52

I have the M&S one (started it late so have just opened lots of Windows) and am wondering if I can use the Radial super acids peel on my very sensitive skin ? Has anyone else prone to a bit of rosascia used it and not caused a flair up? thanks!
I had last years M@ S one too. It's a good way to try out products I am not familiar with. I can give away those that suit friends better.

BringMeTea · 05/12/2016 17:59

Well, liking the Liberty offering today as I only wear 2 colours of nail polish and this is one of them. Lucky!

OverScentedFanjo · 05/12/2016 18:18

I tend towards rosacia and it didn't cause a problem. However it did feel tight and dry. My skin was still pink all over this morning, but nothing that make up doesn't solve. Not sure I want to use it all the time, but the tube was mostly air anyway.

JemimaMuddledUp · 05/12/2016 19:32

Has anyone used the hair oil yet?

I've got coloured hair and swim several times a week so it gets dried out by that too. The only saving grace is that I have a pixie cut and get it trimmed every 6 weeks so the ends are cut off.

Would the oil be good for my hair?

Strawberryfield12 · 05/12/2016 19:34

I really like the Liberty treat today, the colour is beautiful. I havent got round using nail polish since DD was born, but this one makes me really want to get back into routine.

maggiso · 05/12/2016 20:22

Thank you over scented for your reply. It might be safer for me to pass on acid peel.
Wondering about the hair oil too, as I have very fine short hair- so I'll see what others think of it! Hand cream from day one is my favorite so far.
