Did anyone else get a beauty advent calendar? I got a Selfridges one and am stupidly excited about opening the first door tomorrow! Anyone else?

Was going to add it's a good quality product! So far very impressed with m&s

Needastrongone · 03/12/2016 08:18

Yes, my skin feels lovely today too after the peel.

Day 3 treat from M&S is again super. I haven't opened the Sanctuary one yet.

I feel at the minute that I wish I had bought 2 M&S ones for the value!

Strawberryfield12 · 03/12/2016 08:36

Day 3 at Liberty is not for me really, no point even trying. But I think it will make a lovely present for somebody who uses that kind of stuff.

Chewbecca · 03/12/2016 09:31

Day 3 in decleor is tiny weeny again, despite the door being bigger, it was in packaging!

However, it is a serum and I've never used one before so am looking forward to using it.

I just feel that after 3 days I've got less product that I would get in a sample handful after visiting a beauty counter. Sure it will tot up in the end, I think they said contents were worth over £300.

Chewbecca · 03/12/2016 09:33

Just looked it up and it says £180 worth, not £300.

Pomegranatepompom · 03/12/2016 09:35

Liberty lovely today but not a colour I would use.

I have the Liberty one in a different colour already so I was happy with today as I know it's a good product. I'm pale so this new colour works fairly well for me.

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice · 03/12/2016 10:55

My Liberty Day 3 is absolutely wonderful and I love the colour. Who doesn't like Bobbi Brown? It's an excellent size as well.

I am having difficulty getting my head round people buying a skin care and beauty advent calendar who don't use that sort of thing.

Unthoughtknown · 03/12/2016 10:58

I'm so impressed with the M&S one so far, the handcream is the best I've tried

LollyCake · 03/12/2016 10:58

I wasn't sold on the Bobbi Brown cream blusher until I tried it on my hand. It's not as dark as it looks and the colour is lovely.

Pomegranatepompom · 03/12/2016 11:11

Maybe we could have a swap thread? Bobbi Brown product lovely but wrong shade for me.

carrielou2007 · 03/12/2016 12:41

I bought myself the No 7 and l'Occitane. Have been worse than my 3dc opening their lego calendars I want to open more more more Grin

Plockplock · 03/12/2016 13:31

I have the M & S one. I love it and skip (well, it's more of a groggy stumbling affair, but less so than is usual) down the stairs in the morning to open it. The hand cream I can't use due to eczema, but that's not M & S's fault. The Rodial was good and didn't make my sensitive, oily, acne prone skin fall off. Today's present is great after one application, it has already decreased my crows feet and frown lines. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

gaggiagirl · 03/12/2016 15:29

Today's M&S box (day 3) has worked very well as a primer too. It's very grippy. My make up stayed on well today.

JemimaMuddledUp · 03/12/2016 15:31

Didn't get that excited at today's M&S contents, but then at 38 I don't have that many wrinkles yet. I do have a few smile lines around my eyes though so I'll give it a try! Going to use the day 2 product tonight.

Pippin8 · 03/12/2016 15:36

Today's look fantastic door 3 was a loose powder blusher in nude. It's quite a decent size & looks a good colour.

SymphonyofShadows · 03/12/2016 16:00

My M&S one is beating my No7 one hands down at the moment.

onemouseplace · 03/12/2016 17:26

I was really pleased with the Liberty one - it's a good, neutral shade for me (and I already have a couple of other cream blushers in very similar shades).

nickdrakeslovechild · 03/12/2016 20:14

I am loving the M&S one, I haven't been in their beauty department for years until a few weeks ago and that combined with the calendar means I will be a regular. I am desperate to see what else is in the calendar.

Lupinlady5 · 03/12/2016 20:19

Liberty one is brilliant today. Do you use a brush to apply it?

VanillaSugarAndChristmasSpice · 03/12/2016 20:21

Nope, lupinlady - fingertips!

Strongbeatsskinny · 03/12/2016 22:22

Day three of my advent calendar that Dh has filled today's was a daft item a bingo dapper was a lucky dapper as well I won full house tonight.

Strawberryfield12 · 03/12/2016 23:54

Vanilla just because somebody doesn't use one product doesn't mean they shouldn't buy the beauty calendar, there are still another 23 boxes there. Very normal, in my opinion, to have couple of things out of 24 that are not "your kind of thing".

JemimaMuddledUp · 04/12/2016 06:40

Yes, agree with strawberry A younger person for example is unlikely to be leaping up and down with excitement at a wrinkle filler. Other people might find that the colour of cosmetic items doesn't suit them. Or that they don't like the smell of a perfume. It doesn't mean that they won't be happy with the other 90% of the contents.

I used the peel last night (M&S Day 2) and am very impressed. Skin is really smooth and far less greasy this morning than usual. I was worried about reactions as it was quite tingly when I first applied it, but that soon passed.
